Keep in mind that the rest of the series came several years after the release of the original game which was developed by Silicon Knights. Then the publisher - Crystal Dynamics - took over and developed a completely new storyline, so basically the sequels can't claim any real continuity with the original, there was none of the original writers involved. I played all the games of the series but still consider the first as unique. Love to see it remade as a RPG, that would be cool.

So after raziel rips out the heart of darkness from Kain does he live? What happens? we need at least one more game. Persinnaly it would be cool if they decide to co-rule nosgorth and kill the necromancer

Kain lives after Raziel rips the heart out of him. He goes to the chamber of the elders where Mobius prays to the Elder God and kills him, and Raziel consumes his soul and appears in the Material realm, he then tricks Kain into stabing him with the Soul Reaver and finally allows himself to be drawn into the sword. Kain gains the ability to see the Elder God and defeats him. It is the paradox that Kain has waited for, the edge of the coin. He saves Nosgoth without sacrificing himself.
