  • It makes sense that you filmed with a pawn...

  • filmed... witha banana

  • Gary should not be considered champion because he never played against bobby fischer. Gary is a paper champion. Sorry to say but it is what it is.

  • @barthelmy You mean Karpov, not Kasparov.

  • @barthelmy

I wish we could cease this mantra that Karpov was not champion because he didn't beat Fischer. Fischer might have retained the title in '75 but Karpov was stronger than Spasski, who actually didn't do that badly against Fischer. Fischer was certainly the strongest player of his era - late 60' s and early 70's, and created his own myth by refusing to test himself against the younger generation. Karpov and Kasparov were not that cowardly!

  • @vortx100 thank you ,someone who knows real chess history and has not swallowed the hype

  • @barthelmy Gary unlike Fisher defended his title ,your herp derp comment is full of fail and jaw dropping ignorance

  • @sausage4mash

So you're underrating a champion who dominated everyone up to the point of facing Spasky and then came back from 0-2 under the whole pressure of the world to win the title? If you knew Fischer his goal was to be the best and win the title. Thats all he talked about..when he got it, his drive left him. All this crap about not wanting to fight Karpov.. he stopped playing like 2-3 years before Karpov even beat Spasky. You want to talk about quitting. Watch Kasparov vs Deep Blue

  • @willsmackyoudown Fischer certainly 'Dominated Everyone' (he played) in his world championship cycle - his (then) record rating was achieved by the run of wins in Interzonal & candidates games. we must temper our wonderment at his 6-0 scores & acknowledge that Taimanov was WAY off being a great player & Larsen was a notoriously bad match player - basically carrying over his risky tournament style into matches didn't work. go back a few years & Fischer was not so dominant.

  • @willsmackyoudown Comparing Players from different eras is fun but largely meaningless, ALL of Fischers opponents (including Spassky) were past their peak when he was at his. players of his exact generation were muchweaker (Mecking was v good but unreliable). the next generation of soviet players (Karpov, Vaganian etc ) were still to make their mark. I think players who can be compared are those whose 'peaks' overlap, e.g. Capablanca/Rubinstein/Alekhine or Karpov/Kasparov/Anand/Kramnik.

  • @willsmackyoudown If we MUST rank players in some kind of order then in terms of sheer natural ability Capablanca (& maybe Morphy) are tops - they beat everyone with little apparent effort. For sheer brute energy and creativity at the board then Kasparov is tops - his understanding, speed and depth of thought is/was uncanny. Fischer & Karpov are more like hard working Capablanca's and for me sit slightly below. In terms of effect upon the game as a profession - Fischer was most important.

  • @sausage4mash

No disrespect to Kasparov but Fischer was before the age of computers... he was the birth of the new generation. Had he known the future theories that chess engines have used, he would have easily caught on. Factoring in his drive, Fischer is above Kasparov. He was the Michael Jordan of chess. Kasparov has a wife... family, other activites... Fischer did chess.. THATS IT. I put my money on that guy.

  • @willsmackyoudown Kasparov would not of had computer help in his formative years ,computers became strong enough to beat GM's in the 90's .by the way kaspy had a higher ELO than Fischer.

Fischer was a genius but he's not the greatest there has ever been,he's on a par with some of the other greats,my fav being Tal ,but Americans have mythologised Fischer for nationalistic reasons so no point even discussing it ,really .

  • Comment removed

  • @sausage4mash

Right... down play Fischer even though Karpov and many others have said he was the best they had ever seen. Okay... unfortunately hes not the only American. Paul Morphy. Stomped every American and European at that time, including an embarrassing defeat to Anderrssen. Run his games through a Fritz engine and even a Hi developed computer can show you his genius was 200 years ahead.

  • @willsmackyoudown I don't think anyone is trying to 'play down' Fischer, The point of view that he was the greatest ever certainly has merit, I just think that the arguments in favour of both Kasparov and Capablanca (& maybe Morphy) being stronger than he, carry greater weight. Had Fischer fulfilled his promise to defend his title and test himself against a younger generation, maybe there'd be more substance to the arguments in his favour. He didn't; there aren't, so there you have it.

  • @willsmackyoudown Another great American player of course was Pillsbury, who in the mid 1890's Hit Europe and won a couple of the strongest tournaments ever played to that time (against much stronger opposition than Morphy ever faced. Had he not been a bit of a louche character and avoided contracting syphilis, dying prematurely of it, he would have been a good bet for a title shot against Lasker.

  • @sausage4mash

Excuse me a 100 years. I will admit that Fischer may not have been the best... (although I think his drive was). But every European/Russian player quickly dismisses Paul Morphy in the top 10 when he was in fact one of the most talented player of all time.

  • @barthelmy what a nonsense...that comes down to claiming that Spain is not the legitimate World Champion in soccer because they never played the German team from 1974 - which is nonsensical.

  • @barthelmy Why does he need to play Fischer? Karpov was champion and Kasparov defeated Karpov, and everyone after that.

  • The best scientists made most of their discoveries between age 25-35 and then gradually decline. In sports (chess is sport more than science) the decline is faster.

  • @zacharycat Totally wrong, brain process improves throughout life until death, all of it. Sure computational events in the brain CAN slow down ,but NOW alot but creativity, and the cognitive processes and OF COURSE experience just grows with the years. PHysical form can decline after age 37 and on, not the brain.

  • @Etrajbe That is blatantly untrue. What makes you say these things?

The brain has repeatedly been shown to decline with age just as the body declines. The very mass of the brain begins to decline in the late 20s.

  • @varishnakov Actually, the mass of the brain can shrink in form of watermass and other things, but the power and capability, no. Neurons still can create new webs till the day you die, the more u know the more u can fit (however, sure, there is a bigger chance of brain injuries of sorts when u get older) but apart from that, no.

  • magnus carlsen now has a live rating of 2930 he is catching gary every tournament they he plays in

  • @rescats1 so is someone with 1200 rating

  • fisher could do chess well

  • Гаааварят па англисски.

  • Why do middle aged or elderly chess players retire..? I mean, brilliant scientist who think a lot with steps of calculations carry on until their last breath.

  • @Za7a7aZ There are no time limitations in science. The mind works more slowly as one ages, unfortunately.

  • @Za7a7aZ The mind slowly breaks down over time. Good example could be Karpov - he was an absolute beast in his day, but I think he's out of the top 100. But an exception is Viktor Korchnoi - he's 80 now, but I believe he's still at least 2500, probably around 2600, and still competes here and there.

  • Fischer -> all others

  • Genuine + Genius = Garry Kasparov

  • I find these chess videos of all these genius pretty cool. Kasparov, Fischer, all of 'em, pretty cool people!

  • @nicoeste8765 Good to know...

  • In his glory years Bobby fischer NEVER lost a game of blitz. When he'd crushed taimanov and larsen(Both by 6-0!) in the candidates and was preparing for his 1972 clash with spassky the soviets, no doubt desperate to inflict some kind of defeats on him ,be it just blitz games in order to pump up spasskys confidence, invited him to moscow for a blitz tournament. They lined up Bronstein, tal, petrosian plus a few other blitz specialists against him. Result? 14 wins and 2 draws for fischer!!

  • Professor Garry Oaks.

  • @101194z4life yeeeaas :D

  • I wonder how Magnus used to call him: Oncle Garry? Granpa? Garry?...

  • lol everyone on the internet can be a superhero or president of whatever country, watch the video and stfu

  • I wanna see Carlsen vs Anand in the World Chess Championship.

  • @thisisgame

I would LOVE to see this match, but I believe Magnus is protesting against the current WC cycle/system by refusing to participate in the candidates matches.

Therefore, I predict it will be Aronian or Topalov again to challenge Vishy.

  • @WeinerschnitzeI who would have thought Gelfand would be the challenger...

  • Dont learn from Kasparov, Magnus; other wise you too will start making mistakes!

  • magnus is obviously a tremendous talant (hes easily the most dominant since gary left) kasparov wouldnt be wasting time with him if he thought he wasnt talented. However I lately question his desire i almost think hes a little bored or distracted by other things. IMO

  • @andy59tube I don't know what to say to you. I clearly won.Learn how to debate on the internet dumb ass. Your argument and thoughts should take no more than one post. Anything more is just a senseless mindless rant from a Jew helping pussy. As to your thoughts about killing, what a comic book level intellect. During the Neocon Jew Iraq war as a soldier I killed in the line of duty.If you weren't a pussy and fought then you would understand. As to chess, READ Magnus' letter and understand. Idiot!

  • @happydelicious It seems that you haven't taken any courses on argumentation either, as one of the first rules is that you're supposed to be kind to your adversary and the audience, something that neither of you have done so. Also, I doubt that your bickering could even be considered as a debate as in a debate, the delegates are supposed to present clear evidence to support their points. Don't take this personally, but people who do nothing but hurl abuse at each other really don't get very far.

  • @andy59tube OMG are you a fucking retard. And no you couldn't beat me in Boxing. I've boxed and I am a solid athlete. I've also killed for the US as a proxy for the Jews when I was a kid before I knew better. So you can't take me jew helper pussy. And as to chess, I play and love the game but I have a real life. It does NOT take talent to be Good. I've played in only 5 tournaments (3 as a kid) and have no training and my elo is >1800. To not train and get that high of a rating DOES show talent.

  • The result of Kasparov's "training?" Carlsen dropping out of the World Championship Cycle. The Jew Kasparov knows how important it is for Carlsen to win this event, politics aside. But, to the Jew Kasparov he sees it as killing two birds with one stone...he attacks his arch-nemesis the FIDE and stymies a potential contender to greatness Carlsen. Carlsen is giving up valuable years for Kasparov. Check out Carlsen's letter to the FIDE. It is clearly written by Kasparov. What a fucking waste.

  • pixarian, he means the word morons parenthetically or set off by commas, as in Magnus is the future of chess (you morons) etc. He is not saying "chess morons" LOL ;-)

  • 1.Kasparov

    2.Fischer

    3.Morphy

    4.Larsen

    5.Steinitz

  • I thought it was 5,000...

  • wanna know a little secret> im one of those players, i have the games to prove it. how is spassky an idiot.. hes better than anand. hes a great player, anand is similar to larsen, i would say carlsen and smyslov are pretty even

  • i think Fischers slightly more talented then kasparov, but kasparov has cemented his legacy so thats why people say hes #1.

  • @warLock21X

how can you think Fischer is better than kasparov when , fischer hasnt even played Karpov'''

Once fischer proves he beat karpov only then is he worthy of being compared kasparov

    and spassky is a idiot

  • @warLock21X

That's questionable. Kasparov was impressive even at a very young age. Though talented, it took Fischer a a little more to reach the top level. Given he didn't have the proper training and competition as the Soviet players this is not a surprise. Fischer progress was also due to hard work and persistence not just talent which is amazing as he didn't really have anyone to assist him.

  • how an idiot like that can be so close to him i mean hes a genius ask him interesting things not every fool u think first.

  • Wow, great, there should be more views!

  • @eeeeeriickkkkk Fisher retired when kasparov and karpov where arriving to the highest levels.

  • wow you must have one of those new and expensives cameras

  • Over 3000 u say but thats ON ICC Kasparov can get 3600 on icc if HE WANTS but carlsen's real rating is about lower than 2800 and kasparov 2813.and carlsen is good but very close but still not as good as kasparov so kasparov gives him a lil coaching and advice

  • carlsen-kasparov working together is something that benefits both. carlsen is getting some theoretical preparation mixed up with the psychological profiles of his opponents, most of which kasparov has faced and beaten many times plus hes a great sparring opponent:) Kasparov on the other hand gets his name connected with propably the best player of this decade and maybe of all times. Plus he uses him in some public appereances like the fund raiser for karpovs campain for FIDE president

  • @eeeeeriickkkkk Fischer was out of chess and well past his prime when Kasparov was in his prime.

  • Carlsen must have a ton of money already, to afford Kasparov as a coach!

  • I think it is more a case of Kasparov trying to associate himself with "brand Magnus". True Kasparov is a legend, but Magnus IS the future. Magnus Carlsen, by his own admission, has developed a lot by working with Peter Heine (Anand's long-time second), plus his collaboration with Anand for the 3 world championships.

  • Truthfully speaking, Magnus only really worked with Kasparov (in a remote capacity) over a period of one year - 2009, and it is highly unlikely that Kasparov architected Carlsen's success. It was always bound to happen, sooner than later, with or without Kasparov.

  • @gshankaran

With Kasparov, Magnus went from world #4 to world #1, but he was a great player before working with Kasparov, and since departing from Kasparov (March 2010), Carlsen has only extended his lead as world #1 -- he is only 25 points from equaling Kasparov's all-time rating record of 2851.

  • Magnus's live rating is 2826! Very close to beating his coach's ex 2851 all time high rating. Go Magnus.

  • How far ahead of Kasparov is he in relative terms at this age? Are we going to see another guy a consistent 100 points ahead of the chasing pack again? First 2900 norm? How much higher can it go?

  • His English is flawless. I wonder if he speaks Norwegian now, too.

  • @Sejaynus He may undersand some words, but talking it, I doubt it.

  • no you can rest assured that he does not speak norwegian.

  • Sa tête a beaucoup changé depuis son adolescence , on est bien loin de sa tête d'enfant .

  • i own all of you X 1,000,000

  • @pds12 yes i did beat the 2700 function on ICC, ill c u at the world open that is if u have the balls to play in the open section, ur an international master and ur how old??? who cares u make 1000 dollars a year from your winnings, congratulations on your celebrity status, check the world open results this summer and ul conclude that i own u.

  • Comment removed

  • what a odd argument.....and PDS12, i have a question about ICC..I sometimes see people with titles on that who have ratings of 1600 or so..how does that happen?

  • You both suck i just went over the game, center counter and all, real big dog play on ICC we can play there if you like my name is

International Master: Metzel just search Metzel

  • ive changed my mind i think carlsens a better player than Anand

  • This guy is delusional. He was ranting and raving on chessgamesdotcom too, and then he finally accepted my challenge and we played a two game match on yahoo chess and I crushed him both games in around 30 moves. He remembers SamAtoms1924... and there were witnesses to see it. He was making the same claims a year ago - that in a maximum of two years he'd be the world champ -- now it's a year later and he's still not even a master.

    lol.

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah, well you'll have to keep making excuses when you never become a GM. I don't care what excuses you have, the two losses to me remain. You're not even close to 2200, let alone 2700+.

As for me staying 2100 forever, I'm already over 2200, so you're wrong. But unlike you I don't have delusions of grandeur. I'll gladly play you again when you're ready. Just be sure you admit to being 100% before any rematch, so that I won't have to hear these stupid excuses after beating you yet again.

  • I WAS WHITE THES THE EVIDENCE, THIS ISNT EVEN MY STYLE OF PLAY I WAS JUST MAKING A POINT, U CANT DENY MAD SKILLS THERE, MY MAIN STYLE IS POSITIONAL GENIUS AND ELUSIVENESS

    5 minute blitz game

  • 1.e4 d5 2.exd5 Qxd5 3.Nc3 Qa5 4.Nf3 Bg4 5.Bc4 e6 6.O-O Bd6 7.Bb3 Nf6 8.h3 h5 9.d4 c6 10.Bd2 Qc7 11.Re1 Nbd7 12.Bg5 O-O-O 13.a4 Rde8 14.a5 Nd5 15.Nxd5 exd5 16.Qd3 Bxf3 17.Qxf3 f6 18.Bd2 g5 19.c4 g4 20.hxg4 hxg4 21.Qf5 Bh2+ 22.Kf1 Bf4 23.Rxe8+ Rxe8 24.Bxf4 Qd8 25.a6 b6 26.Ba4 b5 27.cxb5 Qb6 28.bxc6 Qxa6+ 29.Kg1 Re7 30.cxd7+ Rxd7 31.Qxd7# 1-0

  • is that a game of your own? it sux

  • oh and theres no way u beat the 2700 GM on ICC im a USCF International Master and i cant beat it. I think Topalov him self would have ome trouble, so if you can beat that meens you're a super grandmaster and should be playing for the world championship!

  • @PDS12 If it is a computer opponent it is possible and I have done it myself. And there is no chance on this planet that those ICC ratings are accurate either. Grandmasters with an elo of 3600...come on man!!!

  • Kramnik beats Carlsen today with black in Corus tournament.

  • try beating the 2700 GM function on ICC, u know how many times ive beaten it?

  • your actually a complete idiot, u think if somebody has world class skills, hes not the best b/c hes not the best on the charts? you need time to come up you moron.

  • @still4syntax, your lucky ur even talking to somebody like me, i am the best and you will find out in maximum 2 years

  • Comment removed

  • @pAbedaNSK.

The best is number one in the charts...you are not, you're pretty much an unknown who claims to be.

A lot of people are a lot of things on youtube and in their dreams.

you sound like casius clay when asked about his golf. "i'm the best! i just haven't played yet!"

  • lol this isnt alex lenderman

  • Kasparov, what does the scouter say about his elo level?

    It's over 3000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Jeronimoooo Nah ~2850

  • @Jeronimoooo What 3000?!?! xD

  • A norwegian newspaper heard that kasparov is charging 30 000$ a day on events, they asked carlsens father and he said they pay more so i dont know. Magnus Carlsen had a 440 000 as budget in 2008 so i guess kasparov cost alot.

  • @KptSabeltann it is just a invest becaue carlsen make 1m-1.5m per year with tournament price

  • If i want to get traning from kasparov, how much cost?????

  • magnus carlsen pays approximately 180 000 dollars. Dont know for how long.

  • 180 000 a year>?

  • Mig has all this access to players, yet he's such a lousy interviewer.

  • not own, im just better

    /end

  • genius/lunatic perhaps, definitely not an idiot

  • Grandmasters travel in trains! OMG ;-)

  • Subtitles would be awesome

  • Magnus is the future of chess Morons hes only 18 and is almost number 1 .Why do you think Kasporov is working with him,he knows where Magnus is heading and he wants credit for it lol.

  • the truth.

  • He offered Magnus a full-time coaching job when he retired in 2005 (Magnus was a lowly 2500 GM at the time). Magnus declined at the time, but had his greatest tournament success after training with Kasparov.

  • Thats very interesting. I'd like to read more on that, is there an article or source you recall?

  • In 2005 he was 14/15 yr old.. lowly 2500 GM, lol.

  • @scatterblast123 Almost? CLEARLY number 1!

  • @scatterblast123 He'll never be better than Kasparov. Kasparov was number 1 for like 20 straight years. What makes you think anyone can top that??

  • @scatterblast123 Magnus is better for Kasparov's coaching, Magnus is heading for #1 largely because of the coaching of THE #1.

  • @scatterblast123 Chess 'morons'? It's an intellectual pursuit, which shows your idiocy. Don't hate because you don't rate.

  • @pixarian72 wow larsen ahead of capablanca and alekhine...interesting notion

  • @scatterblast123 bullshit

  • @scatterblast123 no, there is a work ethic that Magnus must establish to become firm in the top, every young talent needs advice from someone with experience, especially Garry who has world championship caliber of experience. So far I saw that Garry gave Magnus tips on how he would play against Kramnik - openings that Kramnik detests.

  • out of the billions of people that walk the earth only one is subscribed to your channel. Go and talk to him because no one else want's to hear it.

  • some time ago when i first saw some of Magnus games he very much reminded me of Capablanca

  • Nice to see them working together...

Magnus will feel too much better, and this is more important than what he will get from the legend(old red snow russian fox)and in fact even in chess,Kasparov added and changed Magnus to Big Gaint...that you can hear his moves coming from far away.

    f3!

  • k buddy obviously dont know who ur talking to

  • your and sad idiot sadcommunity

  • lol, you just gave me the biggest laugh in a long time. You'll be a flop in 2011, and your smartass talk makes this even funnier. You haven't even posted a chess game on your account after all that smack talk, atleast back up your comments with something that proves it. You'll never get far with that attitude.

And one more question, are you a nazi? Just wondering.

  • Bad sound ... It's hard to understand, too bad.

  • You are so full of yourself, it's unbelievable. May the God's of Chess not allow you too much success in this great game of ours... All I'm saying right now is that your talk doesn't add up.

  • hey pAbedaNSK you might telling us who exactly you are? your name if you dont mind so we can see you when you reach top ten?lol

  • Also don't give me the BS that you got there in less than a year, it's impossible actually, just in case you don't know. You are an insult to all chess players, based upon your comments.

  • Even Fischer, Capablanca, Morphy and the rest of them, Kasparov included didn't reach 2000 elo in less than a year like you claim. Something isn't accurate here... your figures don't match. Bottom line is that it isn't possible to reach 2000 elo in less than a year after startup. Don't force me to disrespect you any further, but your story just doesn't add up.

  • I will tell you exactly how high you can go with being self-taught-and-coached. Pretty much to the level you are right now, 2000 elo or so and that is for the best ones out there. I've played that system for 20+ years, and I'm not stupid. I quickly soared to 1700, crawled to 2000 (slightly over) and this is it. I've been there for 3 years now. I'm okay with that though.

  • Pabedansk whatever your name is I think you are the next fischer only because you sound about as mentally stable as he was.

  • Its a shame that you don't get a better rating in chess for being delusional : ( I can feel your loneliness all the way over here. xD

  • pAbedaNSK - you write incredible spam^^

almost every world champion in the last decades had a world class teacher - and who could be better then Kasparov - maybe the best player ever?

That he is a jew - and ???

A lot of big players where jews - Nimzo / Lasker / Rubinstein a.s.o.

chess is no religion chess is.......

you say you are self coached - hehe - to get to a certain ELO, I think a certain IQ is required - I and I hardly believe that you will pass the 2k mark :-)

  • the point im tryin to make is the best of the best players dont need coaching, thats my point.

  • im already better than any1 its just gonna take that time for my rating to come up, my talent is more unique then carlsens, im similar to karpov but better, more agressive and even mroe technical in the closed positions, my ending technique is impeccable, along with my decision on when to take in complicated positions naturally, im a rare breed, i can close my opponents out similar to stitching a wound, step by step

  • take a look at Pearl Springs...

Carlsparov blasted everybody, even Topalov had to bite the dust.

Magnus will be world champ, no doubt.
