I would have expected more power with such a big turbo, even for low boost. "Low" boost for high powered cars is usually still in the low 20's as waste gate pressures doesn't go much below 17-18psi for a car that runs 30+ on high boost. How laggy is this set up? I made 500whp on my EJ205, stock location turbo with full boost by 4200 which wasn't horrible....

no you didnt make 500 whp on a 2 liter block. and not with a 5spd. something would snap in a second. that is the most unsafe build ever.

@rallypros Well I no longer own this car. It has a raw1performance long block. Stock sleeves. The exhaust is a 3.5inch magna flow. The turbo kit was a gt4088r Ultimate Racing single scroll kit.

@bimsem5 that's the sound of a Subaru my friend unequal headers give it that gorgeous sound, I have been looking everywhere for unequal manifold for my a4 but the only ones I can find are t25 flange and I don't want to reflange as that may weaken the manifold...sigh great Sti though you should of seen my best friends wrx wagon aka sti eater we twisted the frame at the drag strip so he got rid of it sadly but it was monstrous while she lasted

is it all forged??? im going the turbo route on my 97 wagon.,it has the 2.5. i would be using 2.2 crank and rods with the 2.5 pistons. total block rebuild. new rings new gaskets. all that shit. but is there anything i should consider when i go to build it. will the stock block hold like 20psi??

a stock block will hold up to 28psi safely.. some has gone till 30psi max.. but is ur block a semiclosed deck?.. if not.. then i would stay below 25psi

@73DrtSprt I hope you don't plan on building the 2.5 sohc? I am not sure how much power they would handle but will basically little to no sleeves and all alluminum I would think not very much. Boost is relative... you can't go by how must "boost" anything will handle. There are too many factors that go along to figure out the total air flow not just how much boost...

@ls1maro99 actually got rid of the 97 now im driving a 95 Legacy wagon. hopefully gonna put a 3.3 in it. go all motor with that in it. 240 horse stock. do some headwork. find a cam. intake. headers. in in the process of making the car a 2 door with only the front glass. kinda like how work vans have glass only up front. gonna be pretty slick

That swap would be different but if you looking for power I would just do a swap from a wrx or a sti.. I am not too familiar with the 6 cylinders but finding aftermarket parts for those engines I think would be pretty difficult.

I almost did an h6 swap when I had this motor built. That is when the market just started to open up to the h6. I wish I would of made the leap back in the day. I am still happy with my 640awhp car though. Gt42r videos soon!!
