  • dammit I really really need to be this flexible but this is so hard on me mentally,why?

  • @breakdancerQ It's a big investment (including mentally) when one is not simply "naturally flexible". It has taken a lot of years for me.

  • @anakrousis Yeay,I naturaly have like no flexibility in shoulders or in back,or in front bending so it's a little frustrating to see my friends being so flexible naturaly. But I will die trying to get decent flexibility tho!

  • it annoys me when people talk about "learning" to do these poses. its 90% genetic and 10% training. no "learning" involved.

  • I am a yogi, so yes...I do forward folds, twists after backbend practice.

    Wow, have you seen grassy2000? Those girls are so so so sooooooo talented, and apparently some have only had like 1 year of training. It amazes me they could get that good that quickly. I'm curious about their training methods.

    I am a gymnast, so obviously I have other moves and areas to work on aside flexibility; but i would really like a more flexible back. I would be really interested to know firstly how often and how long you stretch; and secondly how flexible your back was before you started, so if you have any natural flexibilty.

    Other than that, you are really amazing; keep it up :)

  • I work on other things too, though not as many as a gymnast obviously, as well as flexibility areas not involved in gymnastics. Professionally I am a musician. More than a predisposition, I think it would be a natural non-resistance to flexibility. I am not hypermobile, so it takes a lot of work. I answered JAMESMCCULLA below on schedule.

  • Thanks, James! My diet is pretty "normal"...since childhood I sort of instinctively have avoided red meat (nothing but poultry and seafood), carbonation and artificial sweeteners. Vegetarian diet has never worked for me for long.

  • 1-2 hours every other day...sometimes less often according to work schedule...sometimes I push for daily if I am not busy.
