this is a good one...but i personally prefer the floating island tracks (not sure of their names), but my definite favorite is the kalbian peninsula track...at the time, i have to say that it was the coolest song i had ever heard in a video game...i paused it and listened to it several times. this is one of the greatest games of all time.
I don't recall this song being in Ogre Battle 64...then again it's been a number of years since I played the game...so who knows :P Just google Galbadia Hotel and you can probably find it free to download there if it exists for OB64
@supernova54321 To be honest, I can't remember. I know there was none in the normal course of gameplay, but I'm not sure if there was a remastering accessible through the music mode.
@supernova54321 I know this comment of yours is old, but this tune was remixed as Wall of Defense on the original playstation Ogre Battle(Tactics ogre on PSX)
@Mysterio467 Yeah, there's a PSX version of this tune, but it's highly debatable as to whether it is better (I'd say no, others say yes.)
An Ogre Battle 64 version of this song would be near universally better received because the instruments were fuller. Compare the OB64 version of Thunder to the PSX version of Thunder for instance.
Oh god, not the Slums of Zenobia. All I wanted to do was listen to the awesome background music, but it would get interrupted every few seconds for another long and pointless minute of "fight it out!" That Samurai unit was the bane of my existence that battle.
LOVE how epic this track is... first time I heard it in game at the Slums of Zenobia, I was actually a tad startled, and it really lends an air of seriousness to any map that has the track.
I have to agree, because before this stage, you're dealing with enemies who at best could be described as villains-of-the-week. With this stage, you know everything is ramped up a level.
I've actually only uploaded a few tracks as a sample of the music. I left out Santa's Coming (as well as most of the soundtrack) since it wasn't one of my personal favorites.
Autumn sky, vicking spirits, sand storm, wall of defense.... Oh my god, theses songs were the best vgm ever done. Now I want to play this game over again just to hear them :O
I love this game, but I'd much rather the series stay dead. I'm worried that if it were to come to the DS or any new system, the game would not be as good as the classics.
What a horrible remark. If they don't ever release a new title in the series then we'll know for sure ogre battle will never be as good. I'd rather them try to revive the series because there is still a chance for greatness.
I've seen one too many series in games, movies, etc, go astray when it comes to not bowing out. Even if there's greatness to be had, I don't know if the creators can bring it out. As long as my SNES and my cart works, that will be enough.
I loved this game, I remember me and my cuz played the hell out of it, I remember liberating all the cities in one stage and letting time pass til my income was uber and then went on to get the allmighty "MERCHANT" and maxed str on my ninjas and int on liches, princess and main char. for massive pwnage, obviously I got the bad ending but was one of the funnest games of all time IMO
ahh this song first comes out when u fight debonair god this song really set the tone for the game making it feel like it really is a rebellion huh nangbaby? thanks!
I know, that's why I love it. This is where the game changes from a rag-tag group of fighters fighting the local bad guys to the idea of leading an organized army against the Empire.
When this song kicks in, you know shit is getting real
sahuaro 1 month ago
@sahuaro Indeed. Be it when you first march to Zenobia, or in the final stage, you know it's time to get serious.

There's an orchestral version of this now. Just look up "Impregnable Defense PSP".

@Blusnayl It wasn't in Ogre Battle 64. I wish that this song were in that game, but it was not.

Best song on the SNES Ogre Battle! Out of interest, did they include this song in the OB64 soundtrack? I'd love to hear a richer version of it.

Someone need to include the PSX limited edition tracks. It's the only real thing that was better on the Limited Edition.

They're available at March On, Black Queen. Search for that term, and you'll find it.
