When I heard this song for the first time a couple years ago on the Farewell video. It reminded me of my uncle who sang and followed the Lord with all of his heart and soul. He died 5 years ago and this song just continues to remind me I'll see him again one day and that death won't ever seperate me from him again. :')

I watched Petra back in I believe 1983 or 1984 at the Astroworld Amphitheater in Houston, Texas. I remember thinking that they were a great band and as good as any secular band. I then listened to the lyrics and was floored. There was such a strong biblical message in each and every song but the lyrics in these song are made my favorite. Paul means that when he dies, though his physical body will be buried here on earth, he expects that he (as a spirit without a body) will go immediately into the presence of Christ and will be with Christ in that condition until the day of resurrection (Luke 23:43; Phil 1:23; Heb 12:23)
Amazing that they use Bible texts that say when we die we sleep, not go right to heaven as many believe. Martin Luther and several other religious greats knew this truth. Jesus is the Resurrection. If we are already in heaven, why have a resurrection?
I agree with you. Jesus took his body with him when he went to heaven. Why would we leave ours here and then come back and get an old physical body? I believe we "sleep" in the grave until Christ comes back and resurrects us. I'm just not smart enough to prove it but I believe it in my heart.

Excellent clips to go with this song and good job editing. Grave Robber is my fav Petra song hands down, but it still pangs me to hear it for exactly the reasons that the song is about. I miss my loved ones so much and I can't wait to see them again. This song has always given me hope of a glorious eternity with God...and with them.

from the opening line of back To The Street there was no looking back John had taken over and we were blown away by his voice. Bob Hartman never wanted Greg X Voltz in the band. The only reason he got a shot was cuz Hartman could not sing lead even though he tried and wanted to. In his lead singing defeat only then did he bring in Voltz full time.

This was the first time I heard this song and I was never a Petra fan, but a friend at church this morning recommended that we learn it for our praise team! from the opening line of back To The Street there was no looking back John had taken over and we were blown away by his voice. Bob Hartman never wanted Greg X Voltz in the band. The only reason he got a shot was cuz Hartman could not sing lead even though he tried and wanted to. In his lead singing defeat only then did he bring in Voltz full time.

John's voice just doesn't have the power that Greg's does. The group was just not as good without him. It was a sad day for me when they parted ways.
This is one of the greatest CCM songs ever, IMO.

The message here is FAR more important then the song. It is powerful. It's the HOPE of God's soon return! This song sings the Good news!!!! And it is good! Praise God! He is coming soon, and I, for one, am looking forward to it with all my heart and soul.
And I am sure Petra would agree with me on this that if there be praise at all, let it all be to the glory of God. and not man.

I love Greg's voice, but it lacks the
rock raspiness that John Schlitt's voice has, which is what I like. Hands down Petra through its 33 years has been incredible, and each lead singer from Hartman to Volz to Schlitt has added their own unique style and testiment to what makes Petra. Good Job guys!!

Yikes, I forgot Petra used to actually be good. The innocent days of Christian Rock. To be honest, few Christian vocalists have really moved me. But this guy's voice does something to me. This song is better than I remember. Huh. Neat.

Oh my gosh! This song brings back so many memories!! In the 80's my friends and I would travel HOURS to see Petra whenever and wherever they were in Colorado! We cried at the farewell concert. Thanks Ryhmboy, you did a GREAT job!!

I love this band and I am sad to see them retire but we all go through life and to come to an end is just a part we have to pass through. This song is AWESOME.

This was the first time I heard this song and I was never a Petra fan, but a friend at church this morning recommended that we learn it for our praise team! I have the guitar part down I know he is the drummer to carry this out ! Great song great message. As for "wasting" my time worshiping God, I will never regret the time spent in praise and worship of Jehovah, Blessed are those who are persecuted for my name's sake. So those deride me for the God I serve, only serve to bless me more.GOD BLESS
