Okay I have a question, So last time I tried dying my hair only the roots & top part up to like half of my hair got colored overly well... BUT the other half which is the end or tips ddn't get colored at all I have naturally dark hair so my hair lady suggested I bleach it so the color could grab on nicely but I don't want to do that since it seems to kill hair... what should I do ? ? ?

@SayNo2LittoDicks Although I am not a hairdresser, I have worked in 2 hair salons. Your hairdresser is correct that you need the levels of your hair brought up to take a color that is lighter than the base color, and that is done with bleach. The thing is, it should be done by a hair dresser. Even with that said, the Feria hair color did make my hair lighter ... not sure how, though. Is that helpful?

@LuxuriousLela In a word, yes. But, a general rule that any hairdresser will tell you is that the store brand hair dye's will not lighten your hair; they can only make them darker. But I say "yes. it can lighten black hair" because it did that to mine. My hair was dark to begin with and I dyed it with the Feria and it became light brown. So, in this instance the rule didn't apply ... it did lighten my black hair, so it should do the same for yours. Good luck, Luxy Lela!
