I just watched My Winnipeg, and it is pure art, brilliant in meshing poetry and image into a quilted narrative that makes any adult nostalgically homesick for what we have lost, like a black and white projection of Wordsworth in quantum jazz fragments chanting there is yet splendor in the grass, we will not weep but rather find strength in what remains behind, and what is any life without its ghosts? Nothing... the directing talent to get this across, like projecting his mind, is beauty & genius
Guy Maddin is a totally cool person. I met himin the Men's Restroom line at the Pacific FIlm Archive in Berkeley several years ago at one of his screenings. He was totally cool with me taking a pic of me and him together...Awesome films, and a creative giant.
very pretentious person

If your going to interview a brilliant director, spell his name right, FilmCatcher. M-a-d-d-i-n.
