I have some in a 75 gallon freshwater community fish tank, and they do just fine. I had three fish meet their end due to them, but they are what they are... crabs, and they will eat fish if given the chance to do so. I provide my minis access to air via hanging plant structure, that they can climb up above the water line in my tank. This has worked well for them so far. Check my vids to see some very rare footage of mini crabs in action. I subbed you feel free to do the same, if you like.

Fidler crabs be goin ham, I turned one upside down before in second grade and he got mad at me, for the rest of the school year he was straight muggin me so when everyone went over to look at him he would just stare but when I went he pointed his claw at me and shook it like the evil monkey on family guy

i just got a fiddler crab, they will ONLY attack a fish if it is DEAD or is like dying allready. they are not strong and not aggresive.

You guys who have these in your tank are lucky. I live in NYC and we are at the mercy of Petland (for those of us with limited incomes or only make enough to barely survive) and they look at you like you are crazy even if you mention fiddler crabs.

I had to once explain to a young kid that such a crab does exist.

Sorry, I find it a little hard to believe a Fiddler killed your fish...their claws are ridiculously weak. They can barely even close them. They are there for show. I'd be much more worried about my fish making a snack of my fiddler crab.

Their big claws aren't particularly weak, they hurt as much as expected when they pinch you. My crab killed a dying guppy of mine, and it's claw is strong enough to crush a large wasp.

I hate my crab. Mine caused the death of one of my fish, and the major injury of another. And dont say that fiddlers dont do that, beause I WATCHED it slie by fish into riboons (cutt its back fins off, then it drowned before I could save it)

Fiddler crabs do that, you can't blame him only yourself it's his instinct infact, these fiddler crabs are actually wild when you buy them from the pet store because they are so hard to breed same thing with hermit crabs.
