The dollar used to be redeemable in silver. If it were still such, then the Fed could go ahead & print all the money they wish to print.... but they would have to back it up in silver. It was a dark & ominous day when they stopped backing the dollar with precious metals & began printing "legal tender". That enabled the Fed Res. to print as much money as they wish & it costs them only 2 & a fraction cents for each bill. Not a bad exchange rate even if you're printing only Washington's face
On this very day, Americans can rise with one voice & no longer tolerate the unequal treatment under the law. The Federal Reserve is owned by private citizens who print money for their own benefit & to the detriment of all the rest of America's private citizens. However, all private citizens, other than the owners of the Fed Res. will be charged & convicted of the serious felonious crime of counterfeiting if engaging in the same act that is practised by the Fed's owners
This is completely backward or contrary to how its supposed to work.
"We The People", through our representative government are supposed to "coin the money" (or print).
Instead, there exist a handful of anti-American men who are printing & controlling America's money & they dont represent anyone but the Roman Caesar (Pope) & Satan
no.. the senate blocked the bill. One of the senators who said he will sponsor the bill completely sold out and rejected Ron Paul's bill and endorsed one that had everything in it except for auditing the fed part. I think it was Bernie sanders.
@leoca it got watered down in the senate and tacked on to the financial reform bill. They had a vote to maintain paul's original wording, however it was voted down. People who co-sponsored the bill originally voted against re-adding it. The bankers win.
She's too far right culturally. She may act as a good foil or counterbalance to RP's libertarian leanings, but I'd hate the idea of a President Bachman if RP were to die.

Oh, hey Michelle, you forgot to mention that your man W. set the whole thing up by deregulating and cashing in while Ponzinomics ran amok. Too bad the libs were tricked into the bailout that W got passed because he blackmailed us with his disaster unleashed. That national theft will be pinned on the Dems even though they are to this day fighting Repubs to re regulate. I saw that coming. Nice to hear her bash the Fed, though! Progressives have said that for decades. Welcome home on that one.

you're all useful idiots. you're being used by fucking corporate america to deregulate the system in the name of free market capitalism, thus allowing more corruption to take place.
thanks for fucking up this country even more and being part of the problem, goddamn educate yourselves you troglodytes.
the world is a complicated place. your blind ideology toward one particular dogma, laissez faire capitalism, is not a silver bullet.
If they ever do succeed in exposing the Feds books it wont be in the MSM or newspapers -they control indirectly. The Fed has hired Enrons public relations firm to help them fight back. They have enormous power over our politicians. I pray for a miracle that Ron will win this battle soon
It's problematic when people say the money is worthless. Worth less granted. Money printed out of thin air just ends up costing more than it is worth. A useful tool for the rich to use to accumulate real assets while the common people experience it as anti-money.

Don't forget that Ron Paul's politics only exist in america. In the rest of the world, it's considered ridiculous to have his veiws and be right wing.
Ron Paul should stop messing around and just become socialist; but socialist is a dirty word in america and RP hasn't got the education or the guts to come out.
I agree that Paul's personal opinions do not matter, and that is what makes him so appealing to me...he doesn't let his personal views conflict with his principles. Regarding gay marriage, Dr. Paul holds the same view as John McCain, Dick Cheney, and a number of other Republicans who would be considered "social conservatives".
Michele Bachmann is for liberty alright. Except when it applies to the legalization of marijuana, gay marriage, the freedom of women to choose, freedom from religion inherent in the separation of church and state, freedom of dissenting views ("we should investigate who in congress is anti-american"), free markets vs. corporate welfare, freedom from American imperialism. In these cases, she's not so much for freedom, but she loves freedom when its used to kick out welfare bums.
I've seen many of your comments, McGriff99, but you need to look into Dr. Paul's positions on gay marriage and the abortion issue. First, Dr. Paul voted Yes on banning gay adoptions in 1999, in addition he believes that the marriage question should be left to the state. You can support a state's right to legalize or not legalize gay marriage, but at the same time not support gay marriage. On abortion, Dr. Paul has made it clear that he believes that abortion is murder. Do some research.
He doesnt support a constitutional amendment effectively banning gay marriage; the social conservative's position is the opposite. You're correct in terms of his PERSONAL beliefs on abortion. But he's not in favor of overturning RvW or a federally mandated ban on abortions; again, contrary to the view of most social conservatives. My point was that, unlike most social conservatives, he doesn't support govt legislating the private lives of its citizens.
As for the banning gay adoptions issues, yes it is true that he voted affirmatively on that bill.
HR 2587:
Vote on an amendment banning adoptions in District of Columbia by gays or other individuals who are not related by blood or marriage.
Paul thinks that only a married couple should be allowed to adopt and of course gays can't marry in most states so the bill seems to be designed to that end. I disagree with the bill completely and I think it's Paul's only vote that I can say that about.
So he doesn't support gay marriage or abortions.. I'm sure there are other issues I could debate with Dr. Paul philosophically. But we would agree that regardless of the respective positions we take, neither of us would force our ideas upon anyone else. That is why he says it should be left to the states. Hell, all social issues should be. As a representative, if he respects individual liberty I don't care what his personal views are.
And actually, in 1999 he didnt vote to ban gay adoption. He voted against GOVT FUNDING of gay adoption, which applied equally to prohibiting federal funding of heterosexual adoption given the wording of the bill.
Correction on my last comment: He did vote for the partial birth abortion ban act in 2003. Otherwise his position is effectively no federal jurisdiction in terms of abortion.
I agree that Ms Bachmann is by no means a libertarian and is not aligned with Ron Paul at all, but two things you may want to look at in your comment. First, Ron Paul is very much pro-life/anti-abortion. As an OBGYN, he knows what abortion is (ending a human life), and so justifies standing against it legislatively (in the same sense that he would stand against murder or assault or rape legislatively--these are things that harm other people, and so the government has a place in regulating them).
I cannot believe the republicans are now hijacking our party. This is bullshit. They hated us in the elections. Now Glenn Beck is our spokes person, we are toast. They destroy everything.
Republicans =wire tapping = wars we were AGAINST now because they are not in power, they are licking our ass.
If he is lining himself with this complete squelching idiot Bachmann, there is no way I can even think of following him. She sucks the intelligence out of the room.
Michelle Bachmann is okay; but Ron Paul is better. Perhaps, they should run together. I think a woman politician is somewhat contrary to the Scriptures; but, perhaps, permissable for the sake of the Gospel.
More and more Republicans like Michele are starting to realize that they should have listened to Ron Paul instead of the imperialistic Neocons. We will see this more and more as people realize that statism, whether left or right, is a complete failure.
Fantasy land? Unlike Michele Bachmann who is solidly grounded in the reality of government death panels, re-education camps and the fair and balanced world of FOX News. I'll take my fantasy of a progression to a more perfect union for our country, working with my friends and neighbors, white, brown and black, Christian, Jew, Muslim and atheist with love for our fellow man and truth in our interaction with each other over lies and hate of the fringe right.
as a republic and not a democracy for democracy is a tyranny. We elect our representatives to uphold and obey the constitution which is what makes us a republic. Watch this video to get a better idea of what I am trying to say.
place in the search bar "Overview of America" it's the first video
Our movement is not about race. You need to get that through your head RSNelsen. Any libertarian will explain to you, that everyone deserves liberty regardless of race, color or creed, and therefore anyone is welcome who wants to be part of what we are doing.
Let's talk about the liberty of the men that have hung from trees in town squares in our country. Let's talk about the liberty of all the men and women that have been denied the vote in our country. Let's talk about the liberty of the young men dragged from a jail in alabama and beaten to death and buried in unmarked shallow graves. Let's talk about men that served our country in war and came home to be denied the right to vote.
I know your movement is not about race all I see is white people.
RSNelsen you are aware that slavery has been abolished, and everyone now has the right to vote. Am I missing something? What on earth are you talking about.
You discredit our movement on the basis of race? Could anything possibly be more racist?
All you see is the color of peoples' skin? Could anything possibly be more racist?
Just stop for a second and think about what you are saying.
Seeing race and loving diversity is not racist unless you use the new definition pulled from the anus of FOX News.
Why are 99% of the people at the FOX Tea parties white?
What I am talking about is all the people that have had their liberty and pursuit of happiness denied in our country in the name of another mans liberty.
There are people alive in our country now that have had loved ones beaten to death and hanged from trees.
RSNelsen a movement is a group pursuing common goals.
Seeing ONLY RACE as you keep claiming to = RACISM.
"Why are most people white at the Tea Parties" - because that is who shows up. No one is excluded from the Tea Parties. The white majority is due solely to the non-attendance of non-whites.
And how else can I explain to you, libertarians advocate equal treatment for everyone under the law. You cant discredit that by citing what we would consider violent criminal acts by other people.
1.a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to rule others.
2.a policy, system of government, etc., based upon or fostering such a doctrine; discrimination.
3.hatred or intolerance of another race or other races.
Race is a red herring..the power brokers want us squabbling over race while they loot the treasury...racism is a headfake..watch the ball, the money..the real division is class..and the bankers are destroying the middle class (of all races)..we are entering a two class system..the super rich who control the govt, police and military.. and the poor..NEO-FUEDALISM.
To paraphrase Jesus: We will ALWAYS have poor people. The beauty of the American system is that we've created an enormous middle class. Your comment is absolutely right. The only thing taxes and welfare and unsound monetary policy do is cause the middle class to dwindle. Some get richer, some get poorer, but the division is widened. Giving the lower and middle classes a hand up or a hand out does not expand the middle class. It just re-defines the lower class.
So in other words, you're a racist. And you seem to think that pronouncing your racism to a bunch of libertarians is going to achieve...something? No one here disputes what has happened in the past to black people. It was awful. That's what the libertarian movement is about: Making sure that sort of thing doesn't happen again. To anyone. Why do you feel the need to respond to this video with a racist remark? What was your point? Maybe we can have a discussion instead of quoting dumb movies...
Yeh that's it, I'm a racist cause I see a white woman from a white state talking to a room full of white people about liberty.....
You know we had white neocon libertarians that took us to war in Iraq that thought a good libertarian government would just grow from the rumble that we left in our wake. And what happened in Iraq after we destroyed their government? Gangs and thieves and mobs ruled the streets no wonderful libertarian government just grew out of the void.
No. You're racist because that's all you NOTICED. As a former resident of Minnesota, I can tell you it's definitely not a "white state" (as if there were such a thing). It's such a melting pot that the signs in gov't buildings are printed in 7 or 8 languages. You can't see a single audience member in this video, so you have no clue what color they are. And you're a racist because you care what color they are. There's no such thing as a libertarian neocon. The two belief systems are incompatible.
If you isolate the metro area those numbers are way different. Either way, it should be assumed that minorities will be in the minority. And why is that the only point in my comment that you address? Who cares what percentage of Minnesota is minority? That doesn't make Minnesotans racist, and it doesn't justify your racism. Racism is evil no matter who's doing it, no matter which political ideology they subscribe to. You have no more right to be racist than Paul, Bachman, or their audience.
I don't see any love or celebration in your comments. If all you did was celebrate diversity, there would be no problem. What you have done, though, is criticize this audience (based on assumptions) for not meeting your standards of diversity. Forced or compelled diversity is not diversity. It's just an act.
Racism, like any ism, is a particular movement or ideology based, in this case, on race. The first thing you noticed in this video was race, thus you are by definition practicing racism.
ism: a distinctive practice, system, or philosophy, typically a political ideology. Hence, my definition of racism.
A more perfect union will never be formed if anything, including diversity, is forced. Forcing diversity always and only builds resentment and dissatisfaction (of which you are a shining example). That has nothing to do with Fox News. I have nothing to do with Fox News. I have everything to do with thinking, though, and not spouting out silly talking points and catchphrases.
1 : a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race
2 : racial prejudice
A more perfect union is what we are working on ......
How is quoting Marlon Wayans in a movie spoof working toward a more perfect union? To hear you tell it, you'd be satisfied with token minorities planted in the audience of a political speech just to meet your ideals of diversity. What does that have to do with liberty or a more perfect union? Nothing! That this video features white people says nothing about libertarians. Ron Paul and the libertarian movement is quite literally the polar opposite of racism.
I've never met him, but I'm sure he is indeed lovely and sweet. I'm sure you'd say the same about me if you were to meet me.
I'm not sure why you assume I or his fans watch Fox News. I don't. And if you do a YouTube search for Ron Paul, you'll see he's very seldom featured on Fox. Most of his appearances are on CNN and MSNBC. Most Repubs hate him, which is part of his appeal for me.
Also, as I'm sure you noticed, Ron Paul is white. Why is that in your list of negative qualities of his fans?
@RSNelsen thats to bad. you should just see people. people concerned about the way the financial elite are tied to the political class and the damage it does to the commen person. turn away from hatred and bigotry.
Poor Michelle Bachmann. Ron Paul's speech contradicted everything she stands for, and the audience loved it.
Bachmann just sat there, while the crowd cheered Ron Paul's comments, and kept smiling that craaaazy smile. I bet this is the last time you see them on the same stage.
I think Michelle will ultimately benefit from appearing on stage with Ron Paul. Now that we have a Democratic commander and chief it won't be long before more Republicans turn on the wars and Michelle can appeal to the anti-war part of the party by pointing to her friendship with Ron.
Still, I also couldn't help wondering what was going on in her mind when Ron was saying we should withdraw from the world. I actually wonder if Ron was trying to get her on board with those other issues.
I was thinking the same thing, but i suspect she wants to profit off of the support that Ron already has, as if she expects everyone to be dumb enough to just all of the sudden support her and everything else she stands for, just because she agrees with him on a few things.
What I want to know is why these Whimps from Slow on the UpTakeVideo only feature Leftist crap. They remind me of NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, MSNBC. Oh wait...They supported Franken, that explains it...they're retarded.
she, like other republicans, are realizing that ron paul's views are the traditional conservative republican views, and that if they dont follow suite, they will die out and be replaced. sure its good she mentions the fed, but thats not enough to make up for the rest of her stupidity.
Is it crazy to think believe money should not be printed into worthlessness or that each individual should have the right to pursue their life without the Government skimming a percentage off every move they make?
The Government takes our money and tells us what we can and cannot do - I'd prefer representatives who have a desire to reverse that trend.
Thank you very much for uploading Dr. Paul's speech at the University of Minnesota. As such, could you please let me know if you plan to upload the question and answer portion of the event?

leoca 1 year ago
@leoca
no.. the senate blocked the bill. One of the senators who said he will sponsor the bill completely sold out and rejected Ron Paul's bill and endorsed one that had everything in it except for auditing the fed part. I think it was Bernie sanders.

@xMaXiMuSx This Bernie guy should be sent to Afghanistan.
leoca 1 year ago
@leoca it got watered down in the senate and tacked on to the financial reform bill. They had a vote to maintain paul's original wording, however it was voted down. People who co-sponsored the bill originally voted against re-adding it. The bankers win.

It's problematic when people say the money is worthless. Worth less granted. Money printed out of thin air just ends up costing more than it is worth. A useful tool for the rich to use to accumulate real assets while the common people experience it as anti-money.

ron paul has more in common with accused "socialists" like Ralph Nader than with any republican or democrat.
China is more capitalist than America.
Europe is more conservative (aka classically liberal) than America.
America is a "communist" contry, but a more fitting word is "IMPERIALIST"
All empires exhibit the symptoms of massive government, warfare, and arrogance that America is displaying right now.

JayEllJayToo 2 years ago
I agree that Paul's personal opinions do not matter, and that is what makes him so appealing to me...he doesn't let his personal views conflict with his principles. Regarding gay marriage, Dr. Paul holds the same view as John McCain, Dick Cheney, and a number of other Republicans who would be considered "social conservatives".
THEjohnpaullewis 2 years ago
....Ron Paul believes Gay Marraige SHOULD be allowed. McCain supports DOMA, Paul does not...
fahimh 2 years ago
When did he say that? Ron Paul thinks that the government should be kept out of Marriage.
theropingeffect 2 years ago 18
yes, he does not want a federal definition of marriage....the other republicans (and dems) think the federal definition should maintained.
paul said that two people should be free to have any association with each other.
trust me, the neocons don't believe this.
fahimh 2 years ago 11
Michele Bachmann is for liberty alright. Except when it applies to the legalization of marijuana, gay marriage, the freedom of women to choose, freedom from religion inherent in the separation of church and state, freedom of dissenting views ("we should investigate who in congress is anti-american"), free markets vs. corporate welfare, freedom from American imperialism. In these cases, she's not so much for freedom, but she loves freedom when its used to kick out welfare bums.
McGriff99 2 years ago
I've seen many of your comments, McGriff99, but you need to look into Dr. Paul's positions on gay marriage and the abortion issue. First, Dr. Paul voted Yes on banning gay adoptions in 1999, in addition he believes that the marriage question should be left to the state. You can support a state's right to legalize or not legalize gay marriage, but at the same time not support gay marriage. On abortion, Dr. Paul has made it clear that he believes that abortion is murder. Do some research.
THEjohnpaullewis 2 years ago
He doesnt support a constitutional amendment effectively banning gay marriage; the social conservative's position is the opposite. You're correct in terms of his PERSONAL beliefs on abortion. But he's not in favor of overturning RvW or a federally mandated ban on abortions; again, contrary to the view of most social conservatives. My point was that, unlike most social conservatives, he doesn't support govt legislating the private lives of its citizens.
McGriff99 2 years ago
As for the banning gay adoptions issues, yes it is true that he voted affirmatively on that bill.
HR 2587:
Vote on an amendment banning adoptions in District of Columbia by gays or other individuals who are not related by blood or marriage.
Paul thinks that only a married couple should be allowed to adopt and of course gays can't marry in most states so the bill seems to be designed to that end. I disagree with the bill completely and I think it's Paul's only vote that I can say that about.
th3lonius 2 years ago
So he doesn't support gay marriage or abortions.. I'm sure there are other issues I could debate with Dr. Paul philosophically. But we would agree that regardless of the respective positions we take, neither of us would force our ideas upon anyone else. That is why he says it should be left to the states. Hell, all social issues should be. As a representative, if he respects individual liberty I don't care what his personal views are.
th3lonius 2 years ago
And actually, in 1999 he didnt vote to ban gay adoption. He voted against GOVT FUNDING of gay adoption, which applied equally to prohibiting federal funding of heterosexual adoption given the wording of the bill.
Correction on my last comment: He did vote for the partial birth abortion ban act in 2003. Otherwise his position is effectively no federal jurisdiction in terms of abortion.
McGriff99 2 years ago 2
I agree that Ms Bachmann is by no means a libertarian and is not aligned with Ron Paul at all, but two things you may want to look at in your comment. First, Ron Paul is very much pro-life/anti-abortion. As an OBGYN, he knows what abortion is (ending a human life), and so justifies standing against it legislatively (in the same sense that he would stand against murder or assault or rape legislatively--these are things that harm other people, and so the government has a place in regulating them).

It's all about "race" isn't it, for the Lefties.
Our movement is not about race. You need to get that through your head RSNelsen. Any libertarian will explain to you, that everyone deserves liberty regardless of race, color or creed, and therefore anyone is welcome who wants to be part of what we are doing.
It is YOU who are obsessed with race.
WadabawSleeve 2 years ago 3
Let's talk about the liberty of the men that have hung from trees in town squares in our country. Let's talk about the liberty of all the men and women that have been denied the vote in our country. Let's talk about the liberty of the young men dragged from a jail in alabama and beaten to death and buried in unmarked shallow graves. Let's talk about men that served our country in war and came home to be denied the right to vote.
I know your movement is not about race all I see is white people.

RSNelsen you are aware that slavery has been abolished, and everyone now has the right to vote. Am I missing something? What on earth are you talking about.

All you see is the color of peoples' skin? Could anything possibly be more racist?
Just stop for a second and think about what you are saying.
WadabawSleeve 2 years ago
What exactly is "a movement"
Seeing race and loving diversity is not racist unless you use the new definition pulled from the anus of FOX News.
Why are 99% of the people at the FOX Tea parties white?
What I am talking about is all the people that have had their liberty and pursuit of happiness denied in our country in the name of another mans liberty.
There are people alive in our country now that have had loved ones beaten to death and hanged from trees.
RSNelsen 2 years ago
RSNelsen a movement is a group pursuing common goals.
Seeing ONLY RACE as you keep claiming to = RACISM.
"Why are most people white at the Tea Parties" - because that is who shows up. No one is excluded from the Tea Parties. The white majority is due solely to the non-attendance of non-whites.
And how else can I explain to you, libertarians advocate equal treatment for everyone under the law. You cant discredit that by citing what we would consider violent criminal acts by other people.
WadabawSleeve 2 years ago
Racism
noun
1.a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to rule others.
2.a policy, system of government, etc., based upon or fostering such a doctrine; discrimination.
3.hatred or intolerance of another race or other races.

RSNelsen 2 years ago
To paraphrase Jesus: We will ALWAYS have poor people. The beauty of the American system is that we've created an enormous middle class. Your comment is absolutely right. The only thing taxes and welfare and unsound monetary policy do is cause the middle class to dwindle. Some get richer, some get poorer, but the division is widened. Giving the lower and middle classes a hand up or a hand out does not expand the middle class. It just re-defines the lower class.
JayEllJayToo 2 years ago
So in other words, you're a racist. And you seem to think that pronouncing your racism to a bunch of libertarians is going to achieve...something? No one here disputes what has happened in the past to black people. It was awful. That's what the libertarian movement is about: Making sure that sort of thing doesn't happen again. To anyone. Why do you feel the need to respond to this video with a racist remark? What was your point? Maybe we can have a discussion instead of quoting dumb movies...
JayEllJayToo 2 years ago
Yeh that's it, I'm a racist cause I see a white woman from a white state talking to a room full of white people about liberty.....
You know we had white neocon libertarians that took us to war in Iraq that thought a good libertarian government would just grow from the rumble that we left in our wake. And what happened in Iraq after we destroyed their government? Gangs and thieves and mobs ruled the streets no wonderful libertarian government just grew out of the void.
RSNelsen 2 years ago
JayEllJayToo 2 years ago
There you go again with FOX Facts , as in made up.
Demographics of Minnesota...
2005 (total population)90.94% white 4.96% black 3.86% Asian
RSNelsen 2 years ago
If you isolate the metro area those numbers are way different. Either way, it should be assumed that minorities will be in the minority. And why is that the only point in my comment that you address? Who cares what percentage of Minnesota is minority? That doesn't make Minnesotans racist, and it doesn't justify your racism. Racism is evil no matter who's doing it, no matter which political ideology they subscribe to. You have no more right to be racist than Paul, Bachman, or their audience.
JayEllJayToo 2 years ago
You see I am a FOX NEWS racist: a man that notices the color of my fellow man and loves the differences in cultures and celebrates them.
Now what is a racist really Mr. Liberty for all?
RSNelsen 2 years ago
I don't see any love or celebration in your comments. If all you did was celebrate diversity, there would be no problem. What you have done, though, is criticize this audience (based on assumptions) for not meeting your standards of diversity. Forced or compelled diversity is not diversity. It's just an act.
Racism, like any ism, is a particular movement or ideology based, in this case, on race. The first thing you noticed in this video was race, thus you are by definition practicing racism.
JayEllJayToo 2 years ago
Well I will keep practicing until I make the world a better place for my children as we PROGRESS to a more perfect union.
Maybe you'd better check your "definition" with Webster and get the rest of us online with your FOX NEWS view of the world.
In the mean time I still see white people :-)
RSNelsen 2 years ago
ism: a distinctive practice, system, or philosophy, typically a political ideology.
JayEllJayToo 2 years ago
Racism
1 : a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race
2 : racial prejudice
A more perfect union is what we are working on ......
RSNelsen 2 years ago
That definition of racism is flawed.
JayEllJayToo 2 years ago
