@BeastFromTheEast94 that would be a scary test; no, I haven't, it's really heavy so usually two to three people are handling it. Not a shoot and run type of camera at all; that's why I bought a 7D!
So basically most of people here are rich and has these cameras? Can someone buy me one? I am serious, I need a great camera to film, I have artist hearth, someone help me out.
@EdwardMendoza dang 35k im wanting to get one for filming wild animals when i go see my friend who from africa will def be fun film with a red one if i can get one under 10k used
@EdwardMendoza renting fine but i want to buy to rent out as well as use to film it going cost a lot but it be werth it when i have the cash save to buy it
The Red camera sucks, and you fools are not bright enough to be ashamed using/owning one. Pixelvision is the "next new thing" in video, and though it's a bit older, it still DOMINATES this embarrassing abortion of a camera. Also, the files are much easier to manage. Pixelvision IS THE FUTURE!
o man i love riping the lid of this one this red one ok here i go the reason why most 12 mega pixel camcoreds only get about 1 k rezzs is cus of this the cpu in the camreder is relly slow and all you need to know. money is for your well bing peace dah was here.
@gatler05 you can either shoot first and do 3D in post(which is massively expensive) or wait for the scarlet to come out with their 3D rig and do it waaaaaay cheaper.
@futurefilmmaker07 But still man I dont need that stuff, 7D does just what I want man. I am not going to waste 25k when I can get something that shoots just as good for 2k? Fuck you dude
@gatler05 it may be a waste to you, but not to some people. Fuck you right back by the way! And it doesnt shoot as good...Your perception is so shallow, what you think it looks just as good because it has a shallow depth of field and is HD?
@RJHEllis Definitely, but coming from a digital camera background the Red is like a bag of bricks. Should we move the camera to medium shot? Nah, just zoom in we only got 5 minutes left...
I really want your honest opinion. Is it better to purchase the RED one package, or buy a Sony ex1 and a canon xha1s. Or better yet one camera that can record 4k or 2 cameras that can record 1080p?
@happyfoxproductions It's not about which one is better; the red is obviously better, it's really about what kind of productions you are working on. Are you doing a lot of live events? The RED would be an insane camera to use if that would be the case. Are you doing a lot of greenscreen? Anything less than the RED for a serious production would be a bad idea.
@UnderMan2020 High quality visual effects, action scenes, post production blow up shots, extra latitude for color correction...the list just goes on...
hey man i know absolutely nothing about camcorders, or anything. but im hoping to leanr, theres one thing i need to know. when i watch a movie at the cinema, its in tape right? like 35mm? what am i seeing when i watch a blu ray is this on tape aswell? what size is it? and how much does it cost. lets say to film one hour, how much would the tape cost? if you could explain id really appreciate it :D
@sxephlI tape isn't really used anymore, those were before nonlinear digital systems were used. when a movie is filmed, it is recorded on film stock at 24 frames per second, then transferred to digital for editing and post effects. the final disc you are watching is still a digital signal, but at 23.976 frames per second to watch on TV.
@EdwardMendoza film stock is actually what i was thinking of. the sort of old school looking stuff. so is the camera you use, using film stock? if so where does it go and how much is it? p.s, do you actually work on movies?
@sxephlI the Red shoots in digital format at a higher resolution than the format transfered from film. the final files are just put on a hard drive, and hard drives are really cheap now, go to Best Buy or Target and look for a 1 Terabyte drive.
Yes, I've shot 6 short films and I'm currently doing post production on my first feature length film.
