@geliomar1113 well its in a ep called Pompeii ep but it's not on iTunes but you can illegally download it for free if and it comes with another song fountains and tramways
I only ever heard this song title, by pressing the "tell me what song this is in a creepy robot voice" button on my ipod shuffle, and I always thought it was saying "Napoleon on the Berezina" which was the river he crossed during his great retreat of Russia, after being bombarded with gurillia warfare from peasants and irregular troops on Smolensk road during Russian winter. After crossing the river, Napoleon abandoned his army, and so began his political downfall.
We all know who Napoleon was. However, Bellerophon was a character of the greek mythology, the one who mounted Pegasus. So, according to Zach...Napoleon is sitting on Bellerophon's shoulders...while B. is mounting Pegasus and flying though the sky!
@Tunnelzzzzz Well actulally I believe the song refers to the HMS Bellerophon, a Royal Navy Ship, on which Napoleon was brought to England after his surrender 1815. In the hands of the enemy, always in sight of lost France but yet so far away, what thoughts must have been in his mind?
So I have no idea what this song is about, but because of the name I get the image of Napoleon standing next to a river somewhere in Russia during his retreat, and realizing that all the things he has worked for are crashing down around him.
I never thought I could feel so complete until I heard the sound of horns mastered so perfectly. If the horns are going to sound to let the world know the the angels are coming, these guys are going to do it. Mark my words
@cosbine Haha, that makes more sense. I must admit that I am more into Greek mythology than Napoleon - good there are people to teach me that then :) Thanks.
Bellerophon was the capturer of Pegasus. He slayed the Chimera. He was the grandson of Sisyphus.
Awe-fucking-some! There's this melody in the song that reminds me of an old song from the '70s ...? Maybe a tv show or movie. I'm music drunk right now.
They never heard you play their loud songs, they never left you alone. And round the sea I'm not floating by the saints of heaven. And you said that I was liar and I'm lost somewhere on the inside the Bellerophon.
I'm really surprised this song is on here, it's one of Beirut's more obscure songs, being on an EP and all; this is probably my favorite Beirut song though. I was never able to make out, or find, the lyrics but if someone knows them please inform.
Great vid, really happy someone added this song, its one of my favs, but I'm pretty sure that this song was on the CD Pompeii EP, if I'm not mistaken, the album cover for Flying Cup Club is a bit misleading. Five star
the title is misspelled, innit? and what's the song abuot, anyways?

The title intrigues me. Why say the Bellerophon? I mean, Bellerophon was a man.You normally don't put articles in front of names.
Wonderful song, I might add.

@Pallapakology Bellerophon was the ship on which Napoleon was taken to St. Helena after his defeat at Waterloo. St. Helena is where Napoleon died.
