I kind of doubt that man. I've some of Megadeth's work and I highly disagree. Megadeth didn't play as fast as Metallica back then and most of their stuff sounded like it was music for movies. My 2 cents.

Really the only song i like better then KMA's version. The already awesome (new) version just became moar awesome! Moar epic riff! From fappable to a fucking orgasm. And above all: He doesn't say "now i take off my pants" in the KMA version either. ( 1:30 )
It is hard to say who is the first thrash band. So many genres crossing etc. I can say that Metallica didnt invent thrash. Listen to some of the faster Priest, Anvil, Accept Etc. They were a huge influence on thrash though. I loved them from Kill em all to And Justice for all. After that big let down. They started to sound like redneck hard rock. These demos rule though. I wish they stayed on a similar path instead of what they do now.

@DonLduk No, well atleast I don't think so. This song sounds very Metallica/kill em all-ish. Dave said this himself, that if i wanted he could do songs that would sound like Metallica, but he doesn't, Megadeth doesn't sound anything like Metallica. I personally don't see any similarities with this song and any optional Megadeth song. Dave had an immense influence on the way that Kill em all sounded.

Really the only song i like better then KMA's version. The already awesome (new) version just became moar awesome! Moar epic riff! From fappable to a fucking orgasm. And above all: He doesn't say "now i take off my pants" in the KMA version either. ( 1:30 )

It is hard to say who is the first thrash band. So many genres crossing etc. I can say that Metallica didnt invent thrash. Listen to some of the faster Priest, Anvil, Accept Etc. They were a huge influence on thrash though. I loved them from Kill em all to And Justice for all. After that big let down. They started to sound like redneck hard rock. These demos rule though. I wish they stayed on a similar path instead of what they do now.

@alliswow your outlook on the earlier days is dead on track, just ignore people like capnkdawg that obviously have no clue what they are talking about, fact is, Dave is the reason that metallica had the sound the soul and the direction they had back then, when Dave was ousted from the band, it was at that point metallica made their biggest mistake, but damn glad they did so, due to the fact the world need Megadeth to show people what true metal still is to this very day.

They also mentioned how incredibly well rounded he is since he writes entire songs including the riffs, solos, lyrics, vocal lines, rhythm and organization. Don't even get me started on how Dave wrote almost all of Kill 'Em All and bits of Ride the Lightning. Basically Metallica currently is a parody of itself while Megadeth is still unleashing more fury. Go rattle your goddamn head!

@strikeout1991 well its his riffs theirs no debate and the solo's were changed on the kill em all record so it means that dave wrote them originally aswell and the lyircs were his also due to james changing it and when they played dave songs live back in 82 dave use to get on the mike and talk about the songs. and james and lars have never denied his input on kill em all

kirk wrote many solos too take "frayed ends of sanity" for example, he wrote that solo, but they didn't credit him on that, or in megadeth, only dave is credited on the song "tornado of souls" but marty wrote that godlike solo...
