  • @nicoboy6666 Umm... Sorry to break your bubble, but McGovney played bass for No Life 'Til Leather..

  • 6 ppl... Did jump in the fire

  • 0:00

  • Mustaine's lyrics were awful...

  • @Chickenpatty878 What did you think when you were 15 years old? Girls. And Mustaine was 15 when he wrote the song...

  • you can really hear Mustain there.

  • hahahaha sounds like motley cru and metallica all in one.

  • @poshi12 How could it? This actually sounds good, if motley crue were involved it would suck...

  • @Trollscience1 about 17-18,

  • It's just not as heavy when you turn on the snowflake feature

  • lol I like how James is all hyper on all of these songs, like "well yeah I'll just do shit here and there yep!".

  • I love how the studio version of this song has the same structure and same solo as the demo

  • where i can find the lyrics?? i think that's a different lyric. i dont speak english very well but i hope if you understand me you can help me. Greetings

  • Was this made before james balls dropped.

  • Who's singing?

  • @MrLolozano James Hetfield. They were all 18 at the time they released this demo in 1982, so they're not really going to sound the same.

  • Better than the studio version and Mustaine shows how he is a force of nature

  • I want this album so bad!

  • @wethepeople48 you can buy it on itunes i think

  • Dave used pentatonics too? Wow.

  • Where do you get this demo?

  • This was better when DAVE MUSTAINE was in it!

  • Dave just didn't fit in METALLICA imo... he needed his own band. Wich is awesome.

  • This is the true Metallica as far as I'm concerned. Before they got rich, famous, fat and happy. Before all the silly experimentation of their latter albums. Before St. Anger, before Load, before the documentary, before the legions of fans, before they got old. Back when they were one of us and all they cared for was heavy metal.

  • @Wes919

    And alcohol, drugs and sex.

  • u can see that Hetfield was a Mercyful Fate freak just by listening to this demo. :D

  • They're all Gods. You and I are not. More powerful than Ra, more awesome than Atlacamani. And in all likelihood, statistically, more followers than Jesus Christ.

  • sweet. btw to any METALHEADS readin' this: my old account was terminated, i need subs and friends for this new one. im goin for 666 of everything. please help me out! friend and sub me and ill do the same 4 u. thnx!

  • these orignal lyrics are better. haha... dave. ftfw

  • Dave Mustaine ftw!

  • They were so young!lol. I love this album 'cause Mustaine was in it and he rocked!!! I wish he was still with 'em but if he was there would be no Megadeath! I love Metallica!!!

  • They were so young!lol. I love this album 'cause Mustaine was in it and he rocked!!! I wish he wse still with 'em but if he was there would be no Megadeath! I love Metallica!!!

  • This has better soloing than Kill'em All version.

  • @Machetedonttext because of dave mustaine

  • @kix7711therealone dave is cool, yeah.

  • @Machetedonttext of course dave would cut kirks head off

  • What's ridiculous is how much better Hetfield sounds on Kill Em All

  • this is the first song dave wrote with metallica, and the solo has a whole bunch of rock and roll cliches, not saying it isnt great, cause it is, but no wonder kirk hammet imitated that first solo so well.

  • I think I actually prefer this version to official studio version. :DD

  • @DonLduk well duh, this is the first song he ever wrote, he wrote it before he was in metallica

  • I've got a copy of the original demo from my uncle. Still in the original package. Never opened. .

  • @ork476 Bullshit.

  • @ork476 a masterpiece is never open is stays shut for emergency for pure thrash era 80's not '11 gaga stuff

  • @ork476 Put it on Ebay with the starting price of $500

  • @MrMayonnaise999 $99999999999999999999

  • @MessiahForce Yeah that's more like it lol

  • @ork476 I've got a boot leg of them playing at the Newcastle, my home city, Mayfair on the 19th of September 1986... 8 days before Cliff died.

  • @Alicaint I've been looking for a bootleg of the Mayfair gig for ages!!!

  • @SirPimpafizzle Then it may please you to know when I get something to hook a casette player to my PC I'll be editing it so it sounds more audible.

  • @Alicaint You Sir will become a GOD in my eyes if you manage to upload it! \m/

  • @ork476 i would be so tempted to open that thing haha

  • @ork476 lucky bastard id pay good money for that :L

  • @ork476 put it on ebay

  • @ork476 not sure about the never open'd part... intact and complete mabye, but i highly doubt unopened, as they were pretty much passed around from person to person when the demo came out

  • @ork476 damn that shit is gonna be worth ALOT OF MONEY when they retire thats proboly the most valuable metallica item around proboly

  • @ork476 why would someone not want to open such an awesome demo?!?!?

  • @giglfoosm because its got to be worth a shit ton of money is why

  • @ork476 nice, but a true metal head would open it

  • @ork476

there are people who'd give you couple of million bucks for that thingy

  • @ork476 sell it for mill xD

  • @ork476 OPEN IT!!!!!!!!!

  • @ork476 You lucky bastard

  • @ork476 make a video and show it to us.

  • greit uncle u have there

  • @ork476 I am so jelly brochacho

  • pretty solid ending

  • this is much better than the kill em all one

  • This is what James sounded like before he turned into a werewolf.

  • @DementedChicken100 this is dave

  • @dightmin No, I'm pretty sure this is actually James singing. Dave does play lead guitar in this though =D

  • @DementedChicken100 HAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA, LOL

  • This demo is legendary, I really like the muddy sound production and young James vocal... he sounds like country singer these days :\

  • @Megadeth72 i know right i had like google where he was born caz im like if hes from texas or something....and my friends like no he from california...im like rlly caz he doesnt sound like it.like i heard the old stuff but im thinking that was before his balls dropped so his voice was high so im like ok.but now in their live shows he has no power is his like hes not trying to scream louder than the amps...thts one of the reasons i love tom araya he does tht.

  • James voice really changed through the year..

  • @DonLduk Well... wasn't mustaine still in the band when this tape got out?

  • @DonLduk Well... wasnät mustaine still in the band when this tape got out?

  • dave's song

  • Dam they Dave got fucked so much in this album

  • @TMetalFromHell i agree !! they are both creators of thrash metal and gods thereof

  • I'm wondering how Dave was NOT inducted with Metallica in to the Rock n Roll HOF for being such a vital part of their beginning...their sound was influenced heavily by him...no disrespect to Robert Trujillo, but what did he do to deserve being inducted with the band? Dave did waaaay more and they benefited from it...btw glad to see the Big 4 happen and gonna happen again this summer \m/

  • @jonesey5168 Well Rob is in the band thats why he's there, it wouldnt make much sense if he wasnt there.

  • @jonesey5168 He was... he was invited but he couldn't come

  • @Dethheadkaps Thanks so much for posting man! I've been looking for this shit for fuckin' ever. \m/(>.<)\m/

  • 0:00 "hmm..."

  • @SuperMetallicaGuy I hear it to. :D

    hmm. . . ^^

  • Thank you, Dethheadkaps for sharing. I've been looking for this No Life Till Leather Demo for years, and I finally get the chance to listen to these tracks :D

  • Listen to the lead guitar writing on this! Dave's lead writing was fucking smoking even back in 81/82 (power metal four song demo) at a time when Lars hadn't a fucking clue on the drums and James sung like shit. Dave was the only one holding this crap together long enough for them to make a name for themselves. LA Times quote from 1982 " Saxon could use a fast hot guitar player. Supporting quartet Metallica had one last night (Dave Mustaine), but they had little else." \m/

  • @x1ic1x That's why Metallica turned to complete shitty radio rock after AJFA, even AJFA was pretty shitty, watered-down and tame, right?

Because they are so much better off, right? Yeah, I guess.

Megadeth hasn't been that great since RIP either though, so meh.

Though I imagine Metallica would have been doing a lot better if they had kept Mustaine and kicked that useless piece of shit Lars out.

  • @ThazuaBlackarrow Justice was a piece of shit album (drawn out directionless songs with pointless time changes and a fucking dreadful "scooped" guitar sound. I'm still trying to find Jason in the mix to this day....was the bass even plugged in during recording?) . It just shows how much they relied on Cliff in terms of song writing direction (even Dave to a lesser extent). The Black album was fucking commercial pop metal compared to Metallica 1982-1986. \m/

  • @ThazuaBlackarrow

I kind of doubt that man. I've some of Megadeth's work and I highly disagree. Megadeth didn't play as fast as Metallica back then and most of their stuff sounded like it was music for movies. My 2 cents.

  • @x1ic1x obviously you havent heard kimb or peace sells yeah metallica was fast too but theyr speed was more of that "lots of palm muted e´s and hit the chords really fast" where as megadeth the rythms were more interesting and different. im not bashin on metallica their one of my favorite bands ever and i love theyr music even if it isnt hard cause thats not what music is about.

  • @lolletroo

I've heard a couple of songs and played some of the tabs for Hangar 18,Symphony of Destruction, and Sweating Bullets

  • Yeah Mustaines lyrics were shit, hes not a fucking deity because he has a better band.

  • I'm going to catch so much hell for this... While Dave's guitar playing is a lot better, I'd have to say I prefer the other lyrics. Mainly for just the sheer evil sound of them. No disrespect intended Dave. Love the stuff you did with Megadeth.

  • The first song Mustaine wrote that he kept ended up on METALLICA's demo and first album. He put up with a ton of shit in 1983.

  • It's all about music, so who really cares about if it complicated! Music is about feeling and all that shit.. not about ability.. only reason it's more complicated is cause dave was on speed and wanna outrun metallica.. he destroyed himself.. insted of just follow the flow! :) have a nice day :) my opinion.. if you don't like it.. then it's okey :)

  • @SitotiKurton who cares? it's all about music

  • Where can I buy no life till leather??!

  • kirk solo is much better

  • dave singing in metallica is not cool man...

  • @BrandonCrazyTV this is James...

  • @PunditHussain the fuck it is...

  • @BrandonCrazyTV it is james, james plays both guitars, bass and sings while lars drums, they edited it like fuck to put it all together

  • @metallicadrummer666 Ron McGovney did the bass, not James.

  • @ulpdy0 ooooooh yeah, i was readin an interview and it says james did, then further down it sain ron did, i got confused

  • @metallicadrummer666 whats daves role if james plays guitar in this then?

  • @54acdc54 dave wasnt in it

  • @54acdc54 as far as im aware

  • @metallicadrummer666 Oh yea but in the description it says that dave played guitar...and it was daves riff so he would have played guitar

  • @54acdc54 they both played.. ooh that was hard :D

  • @bmxlovecoke oh ok lol

  • @BrandonCrazyTV idiot thats not dave singing haha thats james. james used to sound like dave

  • @skolnick14 or dave sound like james? since he picked up singing cause there wasn't anyone that could sing for megadeth :) in my point of wiew, so is james and dave very much alike.. just diffrent attitude :)

  • I wish there was a version with Dave Mustaine and Cliff Burton playing this song (in the studio... not live...yes, I've seen the crappy VHS style copy on here.)

  • 1:33 to 1:36 "now i take off my pants, jizzing it down!" lmfao

  • @dungeonkiller666 It's "Now I take off my pants/A second chance to get down" still hilarious tho XD

  • I love daves lyrics. So much better.

  • Comment removed

  • @mihadude sex=reggayton

  • @mihadude but then they made it about satan and hell and shit! which i think is better. i think these lyrics are kind of corny. but its metallica so its still fucking badass!

  • @mihadude Mustaine's original lyrics: "Movin my hips in a circular way Push forward a bit Pull your body to my waist Feel how good it fits There's a job to be done, and I'm the one You people chose to do it Now I take off my pants, a 2nd chance to get down So lets get down to it So come on, jump in the fire So come on, jump in the fire"
  • i like hammet and all but this version is so much heavyer and kicks so much ass!!!

  • I love Dave Mustaine's guitar work compared to Kirk's.

  • to be honest i like this version way better. james voice sounds sexy. although it did sound amazing on kill em all

  • wow kirk pretty much played this solo note for note... well close enough...

  • @DonLduk No, well atleast I don't think so. This song sounds very Metallica/kill em all-ish. Dave said this himself, that if i wanted he could do songs that would sound like Metallica, but he doesn't, Megadeth doesn't sound anything like Metallica. I personally don't see any similarities with this song and any optional Megadeth song. Dave had an immense influence on the way that Kill em all sounded.

  • @buoghuoj

Dude listen to Tornado of Souls (intro), Vortex (break at 1:50), Killing is my business (intro). And the verse part, the rhythm of guitar + singing melody is Mustaine all over the place, listen to the verse of Skull Beneath the Skin. This song is 100% Dave's.

  • @SitotiKurton

you can't play guitar period hell you can't even afford a camera so suck my balls.

  • @SitotiKurton

lol you fucking pathetic you fat fucking loser you can'y accept the fact that dave mustaine sucks cock at playing guitar and singing. Oh yea and get the fuck outta here troll this is a METALLICA video so get the fuck outta here no one likes megashit here.

  • the vocals are shit if someone grabbed the kill'em all vocals and put it over this it'd be way better then kill'em all

  • where can i download this tracks are fucking awesooomee!!

  • Way better than - And Hair Cuts For All.....

  • Way better than = And Hair Cuts For All.....

  • beautiful

  • @DonLduk So fucking true man.

  • Really the only song i like better then KMA's version. The already awesome (new) version just became moar awesome! Moar epic riff! From fappable to a fucking orgasm. And above all: He doesn't say "now i take off my pants" in the KMA version either. ( 1:30 )

  • @TMetalFromHell thanx-I'm glad to see that someone else here hates all the bitching too.

  • I will always love Metallica-n' this is just amazing to hear! :)

  • @capnkdawg james dave nor lars did noy right hit the lights

  • @45thundertrain James and Lars did

  • It is hard to say who is the first thrash band. So many genres crossing etc. I can say that Metallica didnt invent thrash. Listen to some of the faster Priest, Anvil, Accept Etc. They were a huge influence on thrash though. I loved them from Kill em all to And Justice for all. After that big let down. They started to sound like redneck hard rock. These demos rule though. I wish they stayed on a similar path instead of what they do now.

  • @MrThrashingmad666 AJFA, Blackened, Hit The Lights, and so on and stop being such a fanboy if you dont like metallica stop watching their videos and go watch some megadeth or slayer or whatever stuff like that and no i am not a fanboy i love Metallica/Slayer/ and Megadeth

  • @MrThrashingmad666 I know Dave is a riff machine and a damn good one...but he tries to be overly complicated...James has the power and simplicity in his riffs...and truth be told I can't pick James best riff...I can pick Dave's though, the verse riff in Holy Wars...that riff is awsome

  • @alliswow your outlook on the earlier days is dead on track, just ignore people like capnkdawg that obviously have no clue what they are talking about, fact is, Dave is the reason that metallica had the sound the soul and the direction they had back then, when Dave was ousted from the band, it was at that point metallica made their biggest mistake, but damn glad they did so, due to the fact the world need Megadeth to show people what true metal still is to this very day.

  • I know Dave wrote the song, but is he the singer in this song ?

  • @azerty59400 nooooo, dave has never sang on any metallica songs, it's james back when james was james, not half the man he used to be , now

  • No life til leather seek and destroy james voice is better than kill em all version

  • Jump in da faio!

  • dude that doesnt sound like james singing. it sounds kinda like Axl rose or Joe Elliot (Def Leps early year sound vocal tone) Im not saying its bad, this song is pretty badass

  • i love how the sound quality of this demo. in fact i prefer the seek & destroy on this demo over the kill em all. except for the solo, i prefer kirk's style over mustaines

  • fuck yeah mustaine fuckin rules kirk sucks asshole

  • @metalmessiahmetal

mmh why is kirk in the top 10 guitarist and dave not ?

  • @HearTheBanshee because he's on Metallica, a popular band. In this list, KURT COBAIN IS ON 12º....so i guess i don't need to say anything else.

  • @HearTheBanshee That's ok, Dave Mustaine got #1 in the 100 Greatest Metal Guitarists, so you can suck on that. They also mentioned how incredibly well rounded he is since he writes entire songs including the riffs, solos, lyrics, vocal lines, rhythm and organization. Don't even get me started on how Dave wrote almost all of Kill 'Em All and bits of Ride the Lightning. Basically Metallica currently is a parody of itself while Megadeth is still unleashing more fury. Go rattle your goddamn head!

  • @NightmareSkates

almost all of kill em all?

he co wrote 4 songs on it (of course he did all the solos except the middle solo on the four horsemen on kill em all)

    get your facts straight man

  • @strikeout1991 no he wrote the riffs, solos and lyrics to 4 songs on no life till leather and then metallica with the addition of kirk fucked them up and thats what we hear today

  • @jonorancid

fuck off hater, if you hate metallica why are you even go to this vid (where james and lars are clearly playing)

  • @strikeout1991 lol mate im not the hater its just the fucking truth dave wrote completely by himself thos 4 songs - bass and drums. and its a fact that metallica went more mainstream after cliff died. and i personally like no life till leather better. these are the facts....

  • @jonorancid

who said dave wrote them completely?

  • @strikeout1991 well its his riffs theirs no debate and the solo's were changed on the kill em all record so it means that dave wrote them originally aswell and the lyircs were his also due to james changing it and when they played dave songs live back in 82 dave use to get on the mike and talk about the songs. and james and lars have never denied his input on kill em all

  • @strikeout1991 i cant get why didnt Dave get credits on hit the lights and in seek and destroy when he wrote all those solos for them, you can listen to the demos with Dave on them, Metallica really ripped him off:O

  • @alliswow

    they didn't man!

kirk wrote many solos too take "frayed ends of sanity" for example, he wrote that solo, but they didn't credit him on that, or in megadeth, only dave is credited on the song "tornado of souls" but marty wrote that godlike solo...
