Kobe is the heir apparent and if you can't see how complete a player he is then you're just blind. He can score from anywhere on the court and is one of the best defenders in the league.

Lol. Do some in depth research, and you'll see Kobe can't even dream of being close to Jordan. Kobe doesn't know what defense means if it bit him in the face. Kobe also plays in a worse NBA, with easier rules to favor the shooter. Kobe doesn't care about his team, and doesn't get better under pressure/in playoffs. Research some stats and records, and Jordans make any player seem like garbage.

1st off, Kobe has been on 7 All-Defensive teams, so apparently he knows a little something about D. Secondly, Kobe doesn't get better under pressure in the playoffs? How about the 2006 NBA Playoffs, 1st round, game 4, OT, game-winner against the Suns. Or how about a more recent 49 points, 10 assists against the Nuggets. I says that's getting better under pressure. Now I'm not saying the Kobe is better than Jordan, no one is, but maybe YOU should be the one researching some stats and records.

He's been all defense numerous times. He's been noted for his defensive abilities. He is the most clutch player in the game right now. You watch the playoff games vs suns last year? he hit everything in the 4th his team just couldn't pull it out. THis year they are destroying and maybe you missed his 49 points 2 games ago? MJ is the best ever and Kobe is only 1 step behind and #2. Don't just make up stuff to try to prove a point that you made off some personal bias.

A great shot. MJ is definitely the best basketball player in my lifetime (I'm 22). Though I don't believe he's the best player ever. I think he just happened to play in the NBA at the correct time.

Kobe Bryant is the best of his generation. Michael Jordan is the best of all time.Plus Kobe Bryant is a shooting guard not a point guard or center so no he can't win a championship on his own. One thing Kobe Bryant can do is win a playoff series by himself though.Plus the Lakers are in a rebuilding year anyway and they are starting to play better. They are 19-11 second in the division and in the top 7 of the 07-08 season. So from how I look at it smooth sailing for the Lakers.
