No, you are quite right. I think you draw a different conclusion than I would, as I still believe Christ died on the cross for our sins. Christ many times refers to Christ as Father instead of God. So while they are seperate, they are still divine. Since Christ did do only that which the Father did, He is as God to me. One in purpose, just not substance. I definately dont think they are the same person. But they are one God, meaning they play as a team. completely unified. Christ is the Son.

The key to understanding the text is based on context. John 17:3 can only be understood in the context of John 17 and John 17 can only be understood in the context of the whole of the Gospel of John.
Didn't notice some important information in the text. Why would God glorify a man or even for that matter give him authority over all flesh? Only God has authority over all beings. Secondly, if Jesus was only a mere man, then how can he say that he had glory before the world was? No being can claim such things except God.
Another point, John 20:28 Thomas, an apostle of Christ, calls Jesus both his Lord and God. If you look at the original text in the Greek, Thomas is indeed addressing Jesus.
The whole context of the Gospel of John would suggest Jesus is God. Of course, God the Father can be called the "only" true God but so can the Son and the Holy Spirit. There are three persons of one essence, three hypostasis of one ousia. It is clear throughout the text.
Where do you see that the Father is the only true God? The Bible says that Jehovah is the only true God. Jehovah is the one 'being' of God. There are three persons but one being. Therefore; the three persons of the Trinity is God and this God is the only true God.

The Bible was written over a span of 1600 years and by many authors - Moses, David, Isaiah, Jeremiah, etc. This makes it more reliable because even after so much time, the message has kept consistent. Not only this, BUT, the Dead Sea Scrolls proved the Qur'an to be a lie. You claim that the Torah and the Injil were corrupted, and yet we see otherwise on these scrolls.
Furthermore, the Council of Nicea established the doctrines of Christianity. And where did these doctrines root from? The Bible. Whatever books fit the belief of the early church started by the apostles, the Council of Nicea only expanded it.

No, you are quite right. I think you draw a different conclusion than I would, as I still believe Christ died on the cross for our sins. Christ many times refers to Christ as Father instead of God. So while they are seperate, they are still divine. Since Christ did do only that which the Father did, He is as God to me. One in purpose, just not substance. I definately dont think they are the same person. But they are one God, meaning they play as a team. completely unified. Christ is the Son.

I don't know much about those ancient religions, but I do know that the "trinities" that you are referring to in those ancient religions are actually triads consisting of three god. Again, BEFORE the world began. Jesus was with the Father when the universe was created, and, like Matthew 28 teaches, is God along with the Holy Spirit. Jesus is God, plainly and emphatically stated, in the passage that you quoted.

-Why would the Jews pick up stones to kill Jesus,
-Why did Jesus never correct the Jews and say, 'I didn't mean to say that I am equal with God'?
-Why is it said of Jesus that he must be worshipped EQUALLY as we worship the Father?

I'd disagree with you on Jesus and YAHWEH. Jesus = YAHWEH, and He is the only true God.
Other than that, I'd agree with you regarding Allah, Vishnu, Thor, FSM, IPU, Brahman, Amaterasu, Tsukiyomi, Mithra, Dionysus, etc...

Muslims too believe that Jesus is Messiah but not that he had to die only then can God forgive.

Actually, xiaahmad, you are listening to a portion of history and then stretching it to fit your agenda.
The Bible was written over a span of 1600 years and by many authors - Moses, David, Isaiah, Jeremiah, etc. This makes it more reliable because even after so much time, the message has kept consistent. Not only this, BUT, the Dead Sea Scrolls proved the Qur'an to be a lie. You claim that the Torah and the Injil were corrupted, and yet we see otherwise on these scrolls.

Furthermore, the Council of Nicea established the doctrines of Christianity. And where did these doctrines root from? The Bible. Whatever books fit the belief of the early church started by the apostles, the Council of Nicea only expanded it.
On a side note, Nicea ALSO legalized Christianity. If it weren't for Constantine, Christians would all be dead by now because of Christian vs. pagan wars.
The books that were inspired fit the agenda Jesus taught. The ones that weren't well... Weren't.

Authors are blind guesses? That's why it was recorded in history that the disciples of Jesus were all writers? Or the fact that all the writers remained consistent AND were found in the FIRST century?
The canon was not RECOGNIZED until Council of Nicea, NOT finalized.
