Anette's had her bad days where I might understand that some people could criticize her, but this is not one of them. This is a lovely performance, although she had a cold that day, and anyone who bitches under this particular video doesn't really have an idea about singing.
I like both singers on this song. Each one has their own style. One is very powerful, one is very technical. I lean towards the more powerful version "Anette". but many of the Tarja songs aren't suited to Anette. Thats just the way it is. Different singers, different times. Both are awesome IMO.

Anette is a great vocalist. Don't be pissed simply because she doesn't sound like Tarja. The band chose her for a reason. If you prefer what nightwish "was" over what it "is", then stop viewing these newer performance videos.

Annete, as for me, is very brave girl... to come on stage and sing after Taria - it NEEDS to be brave, indeed... she knows and feels that some fans hate her... but even despite this she comes and sings... and it is not her fault that NW and Taria parted...
I'll admit that I bought the new Tarja CD before DPP (hint anette haters hint cough Tarja CD cough), but I will say truthfully I had no problem adjusting to Anette's voice.

Ever Dream annoys me live because theres so many bits they cant do! I mean for example they dont do the acustic guitar bit, and many of the synth parts are missed out because Thomas doesnt have enough hands, and obveously had to record several times in the studio

Dark Passion Play es la perfeccion de la busqueda de Tuomas en los anteriores dos discos, el cd tiene mas variedad y a la vez concepto, que cualquier otro cd de nightwish, la banda a evolucionado a un nivel q con Tarja no hubieran alcanzado, ella condicionaba muchas cosas en la banda, ahora Anette hace lo q le corresponde, no lo q quiere, porq asi debe ser, encima se lleva bien con ellos q es lo importante, q motivo hay para tocar si no sabes ni con quien lo haces...

bueno con tu comment me demuestras mi teorica, Nightwish justamente en el unico disco q no se ha superado es en Wishmaster, todos los discos a excepcion de ese traen algo nuevo q contar, un crecimiento de la banda, en el caso de Wishmaster es una extension de Oceanborn, no es mal disco, pero no me presenta nada nuevo, y prefiero Oceanborn, Once si es bueno, aunq carece un poco de concepto a mi gusto, y me quedo con Century Child, ademas ya para ese entonces las cosas andaban mal
Hay muchas maneras diferentes de apreciar la música. Son muy diferentes los puntos de vista de la gente. Si a ti te perece que Nightwish no tuvo un crecimiento musical desde Wishmaster, pues es tu concepto. Para mi, todos los albumes de Nightwish son gloriosos hasta el Once. Mucha gente alaba el DPP, personalmente me parece un buen album, pero ya no es el Nightwish del que me enamoré.
Pero bien que hayan diferencias, si no fuera así, el mundo sería un lugar muy aburrido.
por supuesto cada quien con su gusto, pero me refiero q el disco Wishmaster no incorpora nuevos conceptos, al menos asi lo veo yo, y si mal no recuerdo asi lo ve Tuomas tambien...
A mi me parece que DPP es lo q nightwish deberia haber sido desde hace un tiempo, porq desde Century Child, Tuomas buscaba otro tipo de voz para sus canciones, y Tarja no pudo hacerlo, hizo un trabajo respetable en los albumes, dejando de lado su voz lirica, pero en vivo no pudo estar a la altura
I think that song is not appropriate for the timing. they are great now, but I think that song's about hate like Slaying the dreamer. They had a reason to play Slaying the dreamer, but now they have no reason to play Master passion Greed .
Pretty sure Tuomas said they'd never perform the song live because of what the song meant. He also said something about being in a totally different place mentally when he wrote that song.
Anette said "for" in both the first and 3rd line (as you pointed out). Tarja made a very similar mistake on the end of an era DVD. She said "with" in both the first and 3rd line. Don't pick on poor netti :P

Anette même si elle a une jolie et puissante voix n'égale en aucun points Tarja en ce qui concerne les anciennes chansons de Nightwish. Tarja avait plus sa place dans ce groupe que cette chanteuse talentueuse. Tarja rendait vraiment ce groupe didfférent des autres par sa voix magnifique. Mais Anette maintenant semble s'être bien intégrée. Le problème c'est qu'elle chante légèrement faux ce qui gâche le travail du groupe. Mais je l'aime beaucoup surtout pour AMARANTH!! Belle vidéo quand même^^

bueno no comparto :P, para mi la voz de Tarja no me transmitia sentimientos, es muy fría, incluso su puesta en escena era bastante criticable, te decia frases sentimentales con una sonrisa de oreja a oreja, como burlandose de lo q nuestro maestro Tuomas escribe, Anette sabe interpretar mas esos sentimientos, y por lo general me parece q las voces naturales tienen mucho mas sentimiento q las líricas (vi tu perfil y me di cuenta q hablabamos ingles sin necesidad :P)

Tarja a lugares q NW no llegaria?? si el disco de Tarja no le gusta ni a los propios fans de ella q andan lamentandose q se haya ido de Nightwish, claro para Tarja NW era lo unico, para NW Tarja solo era un miembro mas, un miembro reemplazable, a diferencia de los demas, sobre todo Tuomas (por supuesto es el alma de la banda, sin Tuomas se termina la historia) de todos modos deberian escuchar NIGHTWISH, no Anette, q esto no es Anette solista, es una banda completa

yo estoy ubicado, estoy en el video de la banda q me gusta, lastima q uses el término "buena musica", porq en realidad lo q escuchas son solo voces, que My Winter Storm no es nada comparado con Dark Passion Play, y hablamos musicalmente, a mi me gusta mas la voz de Tarja q la de Anette, pero me gusta mucho mas Nightwish, porq para mi la voz es tan solo un recurso mas...

Dark Passion Play es la perfeccion de la busqueda de Tuomas en los anteriores dos discos, el cd tiene mas variedad y a la vez concepto, que cualquier otro cd de nightwish, la banda a evolucionado a un nivel q con Tarja no hubieran alcanzado, ella condicionaba muchas cosas en la banda, ahora Anette hace lo q le corresponde, no lo q quiere, porq asi debe ser, encima se lleva bien con ellos q es lo importante, q motivo hay para tocar si no sabes ni con quien lo haces...

bueno con tu comment me demuestras mi teorica, Nightwish justamente en el unico disco q no se ha superado es en Wishmaster, todos los discos a excepcion de ese traen algo nuevo q contar, un crecimiento de la banda, en el caso de Wishmaster es una extension de Oceanborn, no es mal disco, pero no me presenta nada nuevo, y prefiero Oceanborn, Once si es bueno, aunq carece un poco de concepto a mi gusto, y me quedo con Century Child, ademas ya para ese entonces las cosas andaban mal

Hay muchas maneras diferentes de apreciar la música. Son muy diferentes los puntos de vista de la gente. Si a ti te perece que Nightwish no tuvo un crecimiento musical desde Wishmaster, pues es tu concepto. Para mi, todos los albumes de Nightwish son gloriosos hasta el Once. Mucha gente alaba el DPP, personalmente me parece un buen album, pero ya no es el Nightwish del que me enamoré.
Pero bien que hayan diferencias, si no fuera así, el mundo sería un lugar muy aburrido.

por supuesto cada quien con su gusto, pero me refiero q el disco Wishmaster no incorpora nuevos conceptos, al menos asi lo veo yo, y si mal no recuerdo asi lo ve Tuomas tambien...
A mi me parece que DPP es lo q nightwish deberia haber sido desde hace un tiempo, porq desde Century Child, Tuomas buscaba otro tipo de voz para sus canciones, y Tarja no pudo hacerlo, hizo un trabajo respetable en los albumes, dejando de lado su voz lirica, pero en vivo no pudo estar a la altura

I think that song is not appropriate for the timing. they are great now, but I think that song's about hate like Slaying the dreamer. They had a reason to play Slaying the dreamer, but now they have no reason to play Master passion Greed .

Pretty sure Tuomas said they'd never perform the song live because of what the song meant. He also said something about being in a totally different place mentally when he wrote that song.

Anette said "for" in both the first and 3rd line (as you pointed out). Tarja made a very similar mistake on the end of an era DVD. She said "with" in both the first and 3rd line. Don't pick on poor netti :P

Not that it sounds bad or anything, both words fit, its just interesting.
Anyway she does sing it really well either way, and i really like this song and I wish i could of been there.

Anette même si elle a une jolie et puissante voix n'égale en aucun points Tarja en ce qui concerne les anciennes chansons de Nightwish. Tarja avait plus sa place dans ce groupe que cette chanteuse talentueuse. Tarja rendait vraiment ce groupe didfférent des autres par sa voix magnifique. Mais Anette maintenant semble s'être bien intégrée. Le problème c'est qu'elle chante légèrement faux ce qui gâche le travail du groupe. Mais je l'aime beaucoup surtout pour AMARANTH!! Belle vidéo quand même^^
