She has potential, but I'm finding her a bit too violent. She separates every single note, when you should be stringing them together, making it more flowing rather than violent. I'm not finding myself thinking of violets here. She could also use a bit more work on her pronounciations as well(especially the 'o' and 'e'). But she does have alot of potential. Nice work!

If she is to pursue a career in opera, she is well advised to learn Italian - and probably German as well. But this is a US high school senior, and she learned it phonetically. Even with several years of language instruction, it's doubtful she'd sound like a native speaker. So cut her a little slack.

I agree, and very nice analysis! Wonderful voice, if she chooses, I disagree with you, if she commits, she can pursue whatever she wants. but this is such an event, how many people are willing to do so? When life was simpler it was not such a decision... perhaps there are aspecets of the baroque which are not so outdated?
