There are two that go 160 in Oz.........the V-Locity from Geelong to Melbourne and the HST from Sydney to Casino.

But so what.........160 is piss slow anyway........after watching that TGV doing 574.8 km/ph in Champayne......not much can compete with that. We should have had high speed trains decades ago.......the govt is keeping them out to protect the airline industry, which is moribund anyway.

that's not what we call a "very fast" train : rate it as normal speed…

My guess (but it's only a guess) is that it doesn't go faster than 110 / 120 kmph on this particular video.

However it is true that most of the regular train like this one have a top speed of 160 kmph.

Of course the TGV (Very High Speed Trains) run on a 280 - 350 kmph cruising mode, and reached the world record of 500 - 550 kmph (if my memory doesn't fail me) ; but records are an altogether different matter !

The top speed of this train is actually 200 km/h. However, some of the BB7200:s are geared for 160, I´m not sure if this one is or not. Anyway, this train is NOT traveling at it´s maximum speed...:)

10 cars ( 26,4m each one ) pass in about 6,3 seconds. So we have 264m : 6,3 = 41,9 m/s. Multiplied by 3,6 gives you the speed of 150 km/h.
