He is my favorite of all time, but to say it was because of Brodus Clay is an insult to Edge's Legacy. He's the most decorated Champion of all time, he's been in 7 TLC matches, he's been in hell in a cell, Uncountable Last-man-standing-matches, the Elimination chamber 4+ times, several ladder matches. After a broken neck, a torn Achilles tendon and a torn Pectoral Muscle and SEVERAL rough bumps his body just couldn't take it anymore. It wasn't a one bump thing.

Possibly, but I think it was issues prior to that, he had mentioned in an interview where because of the damage to his neck he would lose feeling in his hands after matches. When he does the hand-twitching/shaking thing in his intro its to keep him loose so that he doesn't jam up during a match, the only time it was just nerves was in his match vs Taker at Mania 24, he admitted to that in an interview after he declared his retirement pre-SummerSlam appearance

Everything built up overtime that was the main reason the match at Mania was only 10-12 minutes. Do you ever remember a World Title Match at Mania being that short (Don't count Kane's ECW title victory over Chavo)? That was also the reason he was out there first. They wanted to do his match as soon as possible so they could have him rest up to get checked out.

It makes me sad when people say Edge doesn't deserve the HoF. Because he worked his ass of, and he, metaphorically and literally, broke his neck for the factor of entertaining me and you all alike. I mean, sure, Randy Savage should DEFINITELY be in the HoF, but Edge deserves this too. Hey, we are getting Yokozuna and Ron Simmons this year in the HoF, so this year's class seems very cool! Just a shame that Savage isn't in it.

I still remember first time i saw this man on TV. He debuted in 1995 in WCW as jobber by the name Damon Striker. He had only 2 official matches - one vs Kevin Sullivan and one vs Meng (Haku in WWE) who were both members of Dungeon of Doom and Alliance to End Hulkamania - before he was released from WCW and went to WWE. The rest is history.

He was a pioneer of TLC matches, he was part of one of the last Tag Teams that were relevant. Him and Christian, The Hardyz and the Dudleys had great matches. Only tag team after that time worth watching was DX (and that was a 2nd coming).

He had an amazing singles career, and face or heel, he gave us the greatest storylines ever. He may not be as great as Undertaker or HBK, but he will always be my favorite.

Why is everyone taking away from Edge's honor? TBH, I feel that Macho Man should be in this year, but I like and respect what Edge has done in the business. He wasn't just a tag team guy, he was one of the best singles wrestlers WWE had. So was Macho Man. Just be cool, because, hey, you never know, Macho, or some other big name (i.e. Honky Tonk Man, Bruno Sammartino, etc.) COULD be announced this year. They're even speculating Yokozuna for this year's HoF Class! :D

The greatest stories in this business are the ones where these ICONS grew up watching icons on his television just like the rest of us (Edge in the crowd at Wrestlemania 6 in Toronto's Sky Dome cheering his hero Hulk Hogan). We should all be thanking Edge for sacrificing what he did to give us what he did. There was never another pro wrestler like Edge, and certainly never will be again.
