I absolutely love Angel for Men. I began using it when it was first introduced as an exclusive for Saks Fifth Avenue over a decade ago. It has a very sensual smell. And I'm proud to say it is my signature scent. Nothing made me feel better than my best friend saying to me, Angel Men is your scent, it is how you smell, which I take as a huge compliment. I have tried the body Crete which is primarily for women. But using sparingly it works. Try the cologne with Khiels Coconut scented body lotion.
Just got angel and have to say it doesn't project or last nearly as long as everyone has been saying. Does anyone else feel it was a bit over hyped in this area? Smells awesome though!
@stateamind29 I had thought that too, then realized I get numb to it shortly after I put it on so it's projecting more than you think it is. I will put another spray on my arm after an hour and I can barely smell it because I am already in the "cloud" I didn't notice was there.

Got a small 1oz bottle to try, and sprayed it on for the first time 5 hours ago :)! When I first sprayed this on I actually smelled "dirty berries" Like berries with tar or something "dirty". I wouldn't say tar, I would say smokey or something, it's so hard to describe but it's so good :) after 5 hours it has calmed down a bit into this dirty chocolate...it's sexy as hell but I gotta tell you, you really need the personality to pull this off! This yells, sweet, yet dirty and "bad".
I picked up a sample of this today and I can't believe I haven't tried it before. Do you get an incense aura from this initial phase of this scent at all? I've had this on for about an hour and it smells incredible.

To me this one feels perfect from start to finish. The top notes are pretty horrible if you spray in on paper, but on skin (well, on my skin) it seems to calm down immediately. It's immediately satisfying and unshamefully bold...this is what a man should smell like. Powerful and seductive with no compomise, and it does get its point across. I'll wear this in the 100 degree Las Vegas heat until I die, its too good to keep locked up, naysayers be damned!
A*Men was definitely inspired by Animale Animale (a far better blend) which came out two years earlier. It was not really that groundbreaking. Kudos, Marc. x

This is the first time I've purchased, and tried, A*Men on the same day. The top notes during the first hour were a bit NIGHTMARISH, BUT........the FIVE HOUR dry-down is absolutely LEGENDARY!!!! For me, 5-6 sprays did the trick!! After I got out of the shower, I put the A*Men on...then waited for an hour....THEN I hit the town!! NO COMPLAINTS!! Great review, by the way!!

HOLY LORD, 6 sprays? Eee-gad man, that's...potent. I find that the best way to enjoy A*Men is ensure that you spray far away from the skin. If you get a nice wide area diffusion on your skin, it's MUCH MUCH more enjoyable than a concentrated 2-3 inch area, that tar/salty (soy sauce?) note gets really rough if sprayed close to the skin. Make it a fine mist and get great coverage. Your enjoyment and impression of this will improve, I assure you!

Why don't you review Animale Animale, the first gourmand frag for men which was launched in 1994? It's a gorgeous scent. Far more elegant in my opinion. A*Men is its camp younger brother on steroids. Best regards!
Not worry if you hate the beginning, it is very hard at first but after 2 hours it is soft, it smells of chocolate and caramel vanille.But is a perfume too expensive!

What i would like is something like Driven, Tommy boy or Lucky, but they arent very strong at all. They last about maybe 3 hours each.
I tried out this cologne before I bought it and its a very hard to tell if I like it or not. The dry down is the best part of the cologne it has a very wicked smell on first spray. I keep going back and forth...Dont think I am ready for this fragrance. Have you heard of Thallium? I think it has a similar smell as the dry down straight out the bottle. Cheap cologne dont think its a designer cologne but I bought some anyways at the mall kiosk as they said it had oil in it and would last long.
I decided to purchase this fragrance.So I wore it today during a birthday party. I've only used two sprays, one on the chest and one on the center of my neck. So while I was sitting there two ladies in their 30's were talking about an awful and terrible scent they kept smelling. One of them pointed towards me so I was like what the hell? It smelled like chocolate, caramel and vanilla to me. So maybe both of them hate these notes lol.
Man this is by far my favorite fragrance, I've had more compliments on this than with any of my other fragrances including the dreamer, le male, l'eau d'issey, you name it. I love this, honestly I can't get women off of me when I have this! I can't thank Thierry Mugler enough! lol
This fragrance is a complete bullshit to me. I think the opposite. Mostly the young guys appriciate this one, who don't know too much about fragrances. Like 1 Million and Le Male. Cheap smelling, but girls like it, typical party fragrance. Yeah, a lot of notes, but there is nothing complex here. Not to mention the bottle..

I GOT IT! Ever since i got Angel men about a week ago i couldnt figure out what the top notes reminded me of but NOW I GOT IT! Dont get me wrong i like Angel Men but initially i got a URINE, yes urine, but not like nasty beer piss urine its a URINAL CAKE smell. if you have ever pissed in a urinal with a deodorizing tablet (aka urinal cake) you know what i mean. the dry down is amazing though, it loses the urinal smell then turns into a chocolate bakery warm sent.

Marc, have you seen the videos by Dynamite Denis a bouncer from Australia (?) Anyway, they're pretty rough, but you know getting a woman's perspective is always good...at least for me. I don't just wear fragrances for me, but most definitely for the ladies. All the money, cars, fame in the world would mean nothing IF it wasn't for the ladies. I know your take is more like an educational format, but Denis' videos are rather interesting, and educational in a different way.
Maybe someone can help me out here. Okay, I purchased Angel Men a few weeks ago, but haven't been able to wear it because it's been too hot. So, every now and then, I will spray it on my hand just to test it out. However, the scent lasts on my hand, 6 hours at most, in very hot and humid heat. Also, the only things that I smell are the top notes, which I actually like better than the middle notes, and the middle notes. I do not smell the dry down at all, but maybe it's just really subtle.
The thing about my skin is that any fragrance, regardless of whether it is a Le Male, Angel Men, Pure Malt, or any other fragrance thats supposed to have great sillage and longevity, on my skin barely projects or lasts. The longevity issue with my skin sucks but I usually tend to overspray any fragrance and it balances very well. My number of sprays with any fragrance is 7 and that gives me the perfect balance of sillage. However, with this, I go 3 and I'm set! Great Review!
A*men angel men with the blue and ribber bottle.. it smells like a bathroom spray at the begining but when it drys down its smell very sweet.. this is not something i would wear everyday.. maby something for the gym.. its not a going out fragrance.. it sticks like shit at the begining lol.. seriouslyy!!

i finally got a sampler of this sucker...am i the only one getting spotty... i guess "prescence" (being able to actually smell it is what i mean) with it? like the top is obviously a beast but i get periods between the top/middle and the base where its very light and barely noticeable, then it seems to die waaaay down. every other time ive sampled it its been a monster the entire time
Def i get the honey, peppermint, chocolate and coffee. a wonderful drydown it's a shame that here it's not too cold to wear it more :/ i only have chances 2 or 3 months per year xD

I don't know why all reviewiers give this an excellent review. It smells really gross. I tested it out at Macy's and my gf said it smelled like "cockroaches". It is really an ugly scent, cloying, I could not even stand it on my arm. I had to wash it off within 3 hours. The smell remained the same throughout the life of the fragrance. It's really a thumbs down and does not work for me. It should be rated 5/10.

Very true very true, don't use more than 1 spray in closed rooms without air conditioner. The secret with A*MEN is to spray it from a long distance, if you spray it close to skin it will smell awful, at least the first 1-2 hrs.
Thanks for the review Marc! Unfortunately, I am in the A*Men hater camp. While I appreciate the work put into it and that it's a classic - it's unwearable and headache inducing to me. Have you tried Yatagan by Caron? It's the gourmand Yatagan.
this fragrance is so weird to me. the first few times i smelled it i got a MASSIVE sinus headache (the first time i put it on my skin i was incredibly dizzy). i tried it the other day and LOVED it. even the top notes seemed appealing in a weird way
I can't stand A*MEN. The dry-down on my skin is pure patchouli. I got no chocolate, no honey, no smokiness, no caramel. I actually had someone give me a repulsive look and say, "What are you wearing?" Thanks for your take on this, Marc. Sadly, this isn't for me. Thumbs up for you review though.
The very reason people love this fragrance is the reason why I despise it. I hate Mint Chocolate chip ice cream, and that's what I get from this. I respect the fragrance in how it does morph into the warm tones, but it's the scent itself that's not for me.
i wouldnt say angel men is something ladys go orgasmic to. its a nice scent after the 1st 2 hours. i just like it cuz in the winter it just is so warm,theres nothing like wearing amen on a cold winter day outside its like drinking a cup of hot cocoa.for that reason and the reason that it lasts for like a day on skin and on clothes for weeks i like it.its warming and lasts. imo its good, not great, its perfect for winter only
When I first came across A*Men I really liked it. The tar note up top didn't bother me. The dry down is really nice, very warm and sweet. After I got Pure Malt this felt like a waste. I like the top of Pure Malt better. I sold my bottle but still have several samples. Good job Marc.
I am the same way i tried it, didnt care for it, than started to like it, It has been an acquired taste for me. But the more you use it, the more you smell different notes. at first all i smelled was chocolate, now i smell a lot of different elements. Nice review

Do you know what fragerance would be best for wearing out in public or like at a small party?? i wear, Driven, So cal, Jake, Tommy boy, Lucky, Aeropostale, AE True. These all are getting old so any others?
What i would like is something like Driven, Tommy boy or Lucky, but they arent very strong at all. They last about maybe 3 hours each.

I tried out this cologne before I bought it and its a very hard to tell if I like it or not. The dry down is the best part of the cologne it has a very wicked smell on first spray. I keep going back and forth...Dont think I am ready for this fragrance. Have you heard of Thallium? I think it has a similar smell as the dry down straight out the bottle. Cheap cologne dont think its a designer cologne but I bought some anyways at the mall kiosk as they said it had oil in it and would last long.

I decided to purchase this fragrance.So I wore it today during a birthday party. I've only used two sprays, one on the chest and one on the center of my neck. So while I was sitting there two ladies in their 30's were talking about an awful and terrible scent they kept smelling. One of them pointed towards me so I was like what the hell? It smelled like chocolate, caramel and vanilla to me. So maybe both of them hate these notes lol.
I'm 17 years old by the way.

Man this is by far my favorite fragrance, I've had more compliments on this than with any of my other fragrances including the dreamer, le male, l'eau d'issey, you name it. I love this, honestly I can't get women off of me when I have this! I can't thank Thierry Mugler enough! lol

This fragrance is a complete bullshit to me. I think the opposite. Mostly the young guys appriciate this one, who don't know too much about fragrances. Like 1 Million and Le Male. Cheap smelling, but girls like it, typical party fragrance. Yeah, a lot of notes, but there is nothing complex here. Not to mention the bottle..

@pillemannen Haha! I believe you. I wore it to my old job twice, and I'll never wear it to another workplace again! When I was younger, I could wear Joop with no problem. Now that stuff is nauseating to me. The only reason I wear it sometimes is because I really love how it smells.

I GOT IT! Ever since i got Angel men about a week ago i couldnt figure out what the top notes reminded me of but NOW I GOT IT! Dont get me wrong i like Angel Men but initially i got a URINE, yes urine, but not like nasty beer piss urine its a URINAL CAKE smell. if you have ever pissed in a urinal with a deodorizing tablet (aka urinal cake) you know what i mean. the dry down is amazing though, it loses the urinal smell then turns into a chocolate bakery warm sent.

Marc, have you seen the videos by Dynamite Denis a bouncer from Australia (?) Anyway, they're pretty rough, but you know getting a woman's perspective is always good...at least for me. I don't just wear fragrances for me, but most definitely for the ladies. All the money, cars, fame in the world would mean nothing IF it wasn't for the ladies. I know your take is more like an educational format, but Denis' videos are rather interesting, and educational in a different way.

Maybe someone can help me out here. Okay, I purchased Angel Men a few weeks ago, but haven't been able to wear it because it's been too hot. So, every now and then, I will spray it on my hand just to test it out. However, the scent lasts on my hand, 6 hours at most, in very hot and humid heat. Also, the only things that I smell are the top notes, which I actually like better than the middle notes, and the middle notes. I do not smell the dry down at all, but maybe it's just really subtle.

The thing about my skin is that any fragrance, regardless of whether it is a Le Male, Angel Men, Pure Malt, or any other fragrance thats supposed to have great sillage and longevity, on my skin barely projects or lasts. The longevity issue with my skin sucks but I usually tend to overspray any fragrance and it balances very well. My number of sprays with any fragrance is 7 and that gives me the perfect balance of sillage. However, with this, I go 3 and I'm set! Great Review!

A*men angel men with the blue and ribber bottle.. it smells like a bathroom spray at the begining but when it drys down its smell very sweet.. this is not something i would wear everyday.. maby something for the gym.. its not a going out fragrance.. it sticks like shit at the begining lol.. seriouslyy!!

i finally got a sampler of this sucker...am i the only one getting spotty... i guess "prescence" (being able to actually smell it is what i mean) with it? like the top is obviously a beast but i get periods between the top/middle and the base where its very light and barely noticeable, then it seems to die waaaay down. every other time ive sampled it its been a monster the entire time

I don't know why all reviewiers give this an excellent review. It smells really gross. I tested it out at Macy's and my gf said it smelled like "cockroaches". It is really an ugly scent, cloying, I could not even stand it on my arm. I had to wash it off within 3 hours. The smell remained the same throughout the life of the fragrance. It's really a thumbs down and does not work for me. It should be rated 5/10.

Very true very true, don't use more than 1 spray in closed rooms without air conditioner. The secret with A*MEN is to spray it from a long distance, if you spray it close to skin it will smell awful, at least the first 1-2 hrs.

Thanks for the review Marc! Unfortunately, I am in the A*Men hater camp. While I appreciate the work put into it and that it's a classic - it's unwearable and headache inducing to me. Have you tried Yatagan by Caron? It's the gourmand Yatagan.

this fragrance is so weird to me. the first few times i smelled it i got a MASSIVE sinus headache (the first time i put it on my skin i was incredibly dizzy). i tried it the other day and LOVED it. even the top notes seemed appealing in a weird way

I can't stand A*MEN. The dry-down on my skin is pure patchouli. I got no chocolate, no honey, no smokiness, no caramel. I actually had someone give me a repulsive look and say, "What are you wearing?" Thanks for your take on this, Marc. Sadly, this isn't for me. Thumbs up for you review though.

The very reason people love this fragrance is the reason why I despise it. I hate Mint Chocolate chip ice cream, and that's what I get from this. I respect the fragrance in how it does morph into the warm tones, but it's the scent itself that's not for me.

i wouldnt say angel men is something ladys go orgasmic to. its a nice scent after the 1st 2 hours. i just like it cuz in the winter it just is so warm,theres nothing like wearing amen on a cold winter day outside its like drinking a cup of hot cocoa.for that reason and the reason that it lasts for like a day on skin and on clothes for weeks i like it.its warming and lasts. imo its good, not great, its perfect for winter only

When I first came across A*Men I really liked it. The tar note up top didn't bother me. The dry down is really nice, very warm and sweet. After I got Pure Malt this felt like a waste. I like the top of Pure Malt better. I sold my bottle but still have several samples. Good job Marc.

I am the same way i tried it, didnt care for it, than started to like it, It has been an acquired taste for me. But the more you use it, the more you smell different notes. at first all i smelled was chocolate, now i smell a lot of different elements. Nice review
