Isn't that "45 degrees angle" technique dangerous

to break the glass in the beginning of the drilling

process, and what exactly happens with it ?

Also: does it work only with some diameters of

holes (drills) or with any diameters ?

I'm green on the subject, this is what I learned from watching this video...

-need a diamond drill bit

-place glass on cardboard or newspaper.

-begin to drill on an angle; slowly raise upright.

-ensure there is water for bit as friction can cause glass to crack. (squeeze water onto glass from sponge)

-monitor friction & pressure while drilling-good rule is 1/8 in. per minute.

-hold glass firmly while drilling

-building a right-angle frame helps to hold glass in place while you drill.
