But remember, if your going too fast, then full flaps will increase your lift, so you may not want that. also, when landing slowly, the more flaps you have, the better lift you have. It doesn't completely rely on the speed of the plane, Morley on how much lift your looking for.
here may be requirements for some airlines, but if you look at some 757 landings, the flaps may be set at 20-25 degrees, rather than full. (watch this video on youtube "Delta Air Lines Boeing 757 Landing", the flaps are set at 20 degrees. so its not required because, if your low on fuel and not landing at a heavy weight, then there is no need to have full flaps.
