Well done, but what is missing is that both the boat and the island exist in a particular ocean; and that ocean has defined the parameters of their relationship. This is the true source of conflict. The boat has found a way of adapting to the ocean's nature, while the island tries to transcend it... but fails. In other words: Love fails in our society, because... in the end... it is always about possession.
You are chronicling so beautifully where so many of us have been. It may have nothing to do with the boat. A deeper current might bring a better boat to a little island... once the island has calmed it's winds. My Heart fell a bit when it came to the part about the island being prettier or more interesting... You are wonderful.
Truly moving...The illustrations and words complimented eachother brilliantly.
The entire story is so true of what occurs in the lives of many people today...
