I don't mean that this proves Christianity to be true, but it does seem to indicate a lot of people were sincere enough to die rather than renounce their beliefs, and I don't know if this is common for other religions as well. There's an element of justice that to offend an infinite God incurs infinite guilt, yet an infinitely loving God pays the price out of love.

I wish you luck. They basically want an inquisition. I didn't even bother to request anything from them. I haven't been a member for 20 years, and I don't regret it.

It really made my heart sink when you called the Prophet what you did.

He just looks relieved to be out of such a dufus cult: where the "official" letter (tract) that "The Brethren" have given to him invites him to be LOYAL to the church: all over, again.
Your religion truly sucks, in a big way.

If my Church is a "dufus cult" then does that mean all churches are? Being loyal to the Church? More like be loyal to God and be righteous and steadfast. You have every right to think my religion sucks, but you saying that only makes me cling to my faith that much more. I'm happy to be a member of the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints. (:

To explain why and how. The vile thing men are commanded to do by god are lame and so corrupt, examples include gang rape of minors and slaves, killing and approving rape of family members, taking slaves, genocide of whole cities. @orlovna2 I'd like to bear my testimony, that I know the Book of Mormon is true. I've read it and have felt the Spirit bear witness. I know that Christ died for my sins. I also know that by following the commandments I get closer to my Heavenly Father. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a Prophet of God. I also know that if I am faithful and keep the commandments I will be able to live with Heavenly Father again one day, and I can be with my eternal family. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

@meenoboo , That is not your testimony! That's the exact wording of every mormon who gives testimony. It doesn't come from the heart, it's a testimony written on paper for all mormons to reiterate. If you want to give a testimony say something from the heart, not something that sounds cliche! And stop following your heart. It is deceitfull! Use your brain and follow logic! The heart tells the mormon/muslim/christian/buddhist/etc. that their religion is correct.Guess what?They can't all be right!

I am a LDS teenager. I'd just like to say that first of all.
It makes me really sad that you are so hate filled.
It's also really sad to me that you get your kicks from talking about how much you hate a religion that is founded around love and family.
I can say that I believe the Book of Mormon to be true, and Thomas S. Monson a Prophet. Not for any reason other than because I've read the book and listened to his words and I've felt the peace that comes from them.

I would like to bear my testimony. I know the Department of Motor Vehicles is true. I know the fees they charge are used for good. I know the people there aren't really that rude. I know the long wait is necessarily right. I know the test to get your licence is fair. I encourage you to go there and see for yourself that what I say is true. I say this in the name of the Secretary of State who oversees the department. Amen!

They don't remove records via mail request because it could be a hoax... Therefore a Bishop or Stake President's signature or endorsement of authenticity is required. Not hard to figure out, I'm sure church headquarters gets bogus letters all the time...
Common sense would have probably figured that much out, way to youtube your lack there of. :D

What they did is of course is illegal. You do not need to meet with anyone. You can just send them the letter back along with the letter they sent you.
I hope it all worked out for you. I still have to send in mine... twice I assume.

I'm an exmormon or soon to be. I got the exact same letter as this guy did but I still believe in Jesus Christ. But a different one now because mormon church taught different ways about God.

@10783048 I'm an ex evangelical christian that is now a mormon, i felt exactly the same way in reverse. Mormonism makes sense from a doctrinal standpoint, what i found before in my old church was internal division, nonsensical doctrine, and a complete lack of logic.

The skills that allow a person to leave the lds faith allow them to also leave the whole rotton concept of religion behind as well. Trust me, nobody is impressed by fundamentalist christianity...it does a lot to hasten teh demise of religion, especially among skeptical mormons. The church sends those exact materials to all people who send resignation letters. I received a letter and invitation with those exact words. I haven't had any other contact since then.
I was a member for 3 and a half months.
