  • Even if cobalts were fast for some odd reason, look at it... It's fucking gay.. rsx all day..

  • V-TECH KICKED IN YO

  • dc5's got balls .

  • It's obvious the cobalt spun then caught up. I'm not even a fan of those things but the rsx is such a torqueless pig I'm not surprised with that outcome.

  • The type-s can easily take on the s/c cobalt ss, but its a different story when against the turbocharged one.

  • @Tj1056 yea man check my youtube i have i/e n so does the ss i raced n i barely pull on him, i started wrong gear as well

  • Been there and done that. alot depends on the driver aswell... so really the cars are pretty evenly matches in power to weight.... haters gunna hate what can I say.

  • It's been proven on youtube and on the streets that type s's will take an SS anyday, All day long. Off the line, From a slow roll, From highway speed, they are just a better car :) No supercharger needed. Also the Type S for 2005-2006 DOES put out 210, Different Intake and Exhaust :) Look it up on Wikipedia! will give you a list of the changes from 2004 to 2005.

  • @durangoclaw RSXs have no torque...they are significantly slower than ss/scs....stop basing your knowledge from wikipedia and youtube video lmao go out in the real world and race.

  • YEEEEEEE, SHHHHH

  • not everybody can drive an ss/sc cobalt

  • @chevydude2 if i had a dollar for everytime i heard that...

  • dude in the cobalt really cant drive...

  • @00RegalGSX you american car lovers really can't admit your car loses sometimes, it was a fair race, that rsx has i vtec, the cobalt has a supercharger, cobalt had the advantage

  • @KOOPA1020 Your logic ....lacks logic. A cobalt has a supercharger so it has an advantage over the McLaren F1? No.

  • @tornadostorm18 i was talking about the rsx-s and the cobalt, do you want to be the example of how stupid you guys are?

  • @KOOPA1020 If a guy that doesn't use proper punctuation can make me look stupid than please proceed.

  • @tornadostorm18 Well first of all,you spelled "then" wrong, and second I do not need to prove you are stupid, for the fact that anyone that reads your previous comment about the advantage can concluded you are very dumb for making the mistake of commenting and bringing up Mclaren into this comaparison......Don't say shit about punctuation it makes you look even more stupid when you use punctuation to try and make me feel dumb.

  • @KOOPA1020 Okay fag.

  • Rsx s and cobalt ss are about the same for performance so stop crying guys, if you would compare an evo to a cobalt or rsx then you can whine. But these two are equal.

  • @Krazymuffin90 Literally "whine" hahaha since we're discussing supercharged/turbocharged engines =p

  • Hahaha call it a stupid baby charger if you want, although the stock Eaton M62 blower is very closely designed for the RSX-S from Jackson racing. Although I own a 2006 SS myself, I have had fun wiping RSX's off my rearview mirror. Factory vs Factory the SS would kill it.

  • id take and RSX over an SS any day!

  • @alda94ish rsx stock gets 140 to the wheels ss cobolt 215

  • @fastcar4556 yea the base rsx gets 140hp.. type s gets 200 or 210 depending on the year!

  • @alda94ish Base is 160 for 02-06. Type S gets 201 02-06. The 05 getting 210 Isn't actually correct, it still puts out 201 like the 06. It just has something different with it, nothing too major though.

  • @alda94ish i have both, 02 rsx-s with 05 rsx-s swap and i/e and a 06 ss-sc with cai... my rsx-s take a 06 ss-sc with i/e.... much better car with the rsx

  • @weigraf34 for real I have a 06 rsx-s... stock and that thing pulls hard all day long...

  • Comment removed

  • type s stomps those POS chevy ss all day stupid baby superchargers in those gay ss's dont do shit

  • @circa3647 Even this SS wasn't far behind. Your insults really need to evolve.

  • cobalt isnt a real chevy, the chevy i know use big engine and waste twice the gas that the acura waste ^^

  • @coolgames14 acura doesnt waste much gas..it has good gas mileage actually

  • my legend get 19-21 mpg, that's gas wasting -.-

  • @coolgames14 ur comparing a legend to an rsx..nice

  • lol chevy suck

  • it's just a shame you'd buy such an ugly car (acura)....

  • @PASSDEJOINT you mean cobalts??? they are soo gay

  • They didn"t make the Buick Lacrosse in 1995 dipshit.

  • i'll race u i have 2005 srt4 stage 3 i'll smoke both your cars. i'm dyno at over 400whp. try to keep up with me.

  • @charlieecv What dyno did you use?

  • Honda has been getting the most power out of their I4's and V6's for forever, and finally GM and every other domestic is finally getting more power out of their V6 and V8... Honda's in the end will end up lasting way longer and continue to hold their power unlike a domestic.. Why because I own a Chevy and a Honda....

  • @Roadrash1991 agreed finally someone who understands common sense

  • its funny how all dis little bitch asss talkin bad about japans cars with their stupid ass musle cars faggets

  • too bad the k20 is a badass motor u boondok bitch

  • cobalt sux

  • @1caliwest Accords are not any better.

  • The Acura was clearly not stock, cuz it has a pussy ass civic si engine

  • Comment removed

  • @Boondocksaint225 Do the civic si engine come standard in the type s? Or did he put the engine in himself? Cobalt lsj engine came from Ion redline. Not much difference.

  • The RSX S revs faster and higher no surprise it's not a SS/TC

  • why would you compare an RSX to a piece of shit american car, their v8's are slow now imagine their inline 4's,, pffffff its like comparing chocolate to shit

  • Last time i checked, the cobalt was also a I4.

  • @undeadkillers i don't think you understood my comment, i know the cobalt is a I4, what i meant was american V8 cant hang with hondas, what makes you think american I4s will.... shit!!

  • @juanox10

Well, i could say the opposite, Japan fails at V8s.. Still even though, you guys fit a huge turbo and that's where your power is basically from.

  • @undeadkillers the reason japan doesent make v8 is because their streets are to small for such a big engine, but if they did make v8's americans might aswell call it a day....

  • @juanox10 Japan does make V8s.

  • @juanox10 Dude are you serious? You are a ricer in every way possible. What V8 can't hang with a civic a 1995 buick lacrosse could hang with a fucking civic. I have a stock cobalt ls and it eats civics for breakfast. Honda blows. Eat rice don't drive it.

  • @kevimac08 you drive a gay stock cobalt ls that you try to race, but yet your calling me a ricer, FAIL......

  • @kevimac08 I had a hard time keeping up with a Civic Si with mild tunes with my 05 cobalt ss. You eat old civics. There are some nice performing civics out there.

  • yes driver can change the whole race

  • Comment removed

  • it makes a difference on whos behind the wheel, cobalt should have had it

  • didnt expect that. bad ass driver in the rsx

  • tht cant b a stock rsx......thts bull....its gots sumthin in it....i'm import lover =]

  • Wow, Guy in the SS Cant drive for shit. Learn how to shift buddy, your making us SS drivers look bad.

  • @chaosgeeksacademy

You do that yourself driving a Chevy

  • @stustockwell FYI this previous post was NOT posted by me, chaosgeeksacademy. someone must have somehow used my account to post the comment. I noticed its a year old, so it will be difficult to track down.

  • @chaosgeeksacademy

Relax dude, it's youtube. This site is basically to listen to free music and talk shit. Search a good dub track, and talk some shit. Enjoy yo'self bitches. Im rick james

  • @stustockwell Bring me back a banana Cognac Biatch! LMAO Real World!

  • omg, when are these SS driver going to learn how to launch???i agree with rootbeer...

  • It's very hard to launch in these cars. First gear is really short and 2nd is very long. Only way to get a really good launch you would have to take away boost in first gear, take it down to about 40%-50% boost.

  • @BerettaXTC i know that but isnt there a way to tune it in a way so you dont peak out your boost in your first gear so you so you wont spin...but i guess i can do more research...

  • There is no such thing as the krpo "kit". Kpro is an addition to the stock ecu which lets you manage and tune the engine via k-manager. anything from cam angle, timing, ignition and boost. Even with CAI, RBC mani, hondata IMG, race header, 3 inch exhaust and aggressive tune you will not see anything over 225 to the tire.

    btw

vtec has nothing to do with high compression. moron, go back to school.

  • dumbass cobalt...shames me. learn how to launch ur fwd ir ur gonna race from a dig, dont just pin it and bounce off the limiter!!!

  • I think that's what happened in the other video. Cobalt would've took him if he shifted earlier.

  • @theroc5851 haha your such an idiot. you know nothing about the differences in the ss/sc to ss/tc. your car is pathetic. go on boost and then come back and talk to me. 350hp N/A LMAO thats some good herb you are smoking

  • easily get 350 n/a with a hondata k-pro kit lmao!!!! damn i HAVE to post this ricer bullshit on rsx club this is too much. they will find this REALLY funny.

unleash endless power lol o this is good.

you can log on rsx club to find the thread soon this will be epic

  • @ Theroc5851

Dont Get me Wrong Man I Dont Doubt Vtec Is Amazing But Im Simply Saying I've beaten A Few RSX's And Im Not Smashin The Car, They Are Nice. But I've Yet to Seen 1) A good driver. and 2) One Pull on me

PS: I also dont doubt you can drive You from Canada?

  • you have no clue what your talking about... go to rsx club and post your ricer bullshit, they will laugh at you.

everyone knows a stock rsx-s will get walked by an s/c cobalt from a roll. and your intake doesn add any power worth while

  • the cobalt sc motor made wards top 10 list for best motors of 2006, the k20 did not. this cobalt motor comes from the factory with forged internals. and is used as a drag engine in many high powered cars on the STOCK block. everything else is changed obviously. it is a very good motor.

  • k20 made one of the top engines for the decade

    go kill yourself moron

  • one of the top engines or not, it doesnt make 150 horsepower from a hondata kit, or anywhere remotely close to that

  • Comment removed

  • Thank god Someones Got Their Head on straight. kudos for the info:)

  • Pussy ass balt. I bought a RSX and havent lost to any other ricer. But a V8 purple nova is the only thing that almost got me.

  • sounds like your a ricer. go to a track and do a real race

  • @TheJoshuaRezende And i use to own a cobalt and i never lost to a RSX, whats your point? I even beat a 85 Mustang with a 75shot, DR, Intake and exhaust, a 07 Mustang GT and a Mustang Saleen with almost 200whp more then me...ironically i now own a 370z and the only car i lost to was my friends tuned Cobalt SS/TC.

  • u know what tune he had? i love the trifecta tune, mine isnt to crazy, but it pulls like a sob, totally new car with a tune.

  • his is the same, he has intake and muffler delete. We did 2 races, 1 from a roll and one from a dig, i got him on the dig but he got me from the roll. Then i realised i had my VDC on, so i turned it off and tried again...got him both times. We then raced at the drag strip and i barely beat him. Video is on my profile. I wish i would have gotten the TC instead of the SC....if they were out when i got my cobalt..lol.

  • i would deff smoke your "balt"

  • Vtec Is Awesome But Its CLEAR that this dude Cant Drive ( The 'Balt Driver ) He Fuckin Mis-shifts And Punches the Rev limiter ... The dudes an idiot. And No offense to You RXS Fans But Theres No way in Hell.. Your Pullin' away from my balt... Ever. IT Hasnt Happen Yet and Wont happen anytime soon.

  • agreed the balt driver should have pulled ahead. The RSX is awesome. I would love one as a daily driver but spec wise the balt should have pulled. I could see a s2000 pull from a balt once you get in third gear but a rsx ? seems highly unlikely.

  • I've Raced a Friend Of Mine in an S2k And He pulled On me Hard. Im Not Staged either yet So it may be why. But I couldn't Catch Him Once he Was Going. And Their is one thing Everyone can Say. RSX And Balt = Performance... Civic = Rice-a-roni

  • ITS ALL ABOUT THE V TAK!!!!

  • @craziwitt you mean variable valve timing? found on about 80 percent of cars? hondas suck and v tec is just what every honda lover runs to because theres nothign else on the car worth even mentioning

  • Rsx type S

Has to be one of the best vtecd

Motors out there nice roar to the engine vibrates through your body

    ;D

  • Hellyea dart. I do the same thing to the Balt sc's. They never get past my rear tires. And dude talkin about the ss/tc, duh the Balt tc is quick. Umm it has a TURBO. Lol goddamn if my 08 si gets a turbo it'd piss on the tc and many more cars. The new si coupes have potential.

  • the si does not benefit too much from a turbo unless you do more upgrades since the si has a high compression engine but with the right mods you can get alot out of a honda

  • the sc balts suck balws my friend bought an 2008.5 coablt turbocharged and we have raced rx-7 one time with me in the car, we spanked him the turbo cobalt has so much bawls and it handles like a dream very sensitive corners like no tommorow

  • the turbalt first gear is like what to 25mph? lol that's the only thing that sucks.

  • my friend has a s/c balt with a tvs and its faster than a tuned t/c balt. he also beat a lighlty modded srt-4, a stock z-28 camaro, a bolt on k24 ep3 and non s/c 03 cobra

  • i beat a SS/SC with my 06 si. pulled 1/2 a car on him from a 20 roll then i started pulling more around 110.

  • depends what mods you have, my balt only has an intake and high flow cat, check my videos out to see what a properly driven balt can do... it will surprise you... the maxima in the videos runs 14.7 @ 98

  • What are u talkin about dude. I saw this rsx stomp that Balt sc in this video. Ide do tha same in my si.

  • Helll yea I agree. I've pulled on every Balt sc I've met on the street. I saw this video and was like yea if my 08 si was racin that Balt ide pull away just as fast lol nice driving in the Acura.

  • lol i drove my friend's 07 cobablt SS-SC on the track and that thing handled like a piece of shit. Hellcat320 was right, the optional LSD works after you already tried turning and failed and understeered like a homosexual. They need to invest in some faster fucking processing power to get that LSD to actually do any good. This car is such a waste of money..even my friend agrees...and he fuckin paid for the damn thing...shoulda got an Si or a RSX-S

  • it makes sense, of course it doesnt handle or feel like an evo, but im sure you didnt test the limits of the car. the limits of the car is what enabled it to get this time. its harder to drive fast, but it can go around a track just as fast and thats a proven fact

  • the evo is a better car, it conveys more confidence, and is easier to drive fast. but the new ss is 600+ lbs lighter, has an under-rated engine that dyno's 245-255 whp, brembo brakes, limited slip, nurburgring-tuned suspension. it pulled .92 g skid pad 72.4 mph slalom, traps at 104 mph in the 1/4 etc. its the best performing fwd car. the evo saw its best days with the 8 and 9. the 10 is too heavy, but much more civilized.

  • well all the magazines have been bribed! you figured it out, even the testers in europe, them too, its a big conspiracy that the ss has faster times on the nurburgring car and driver test track, motor trend test track, road and track. its just one big conspiracy. they were all told to say that.

  • LOL. I heard a "psheww!" gotta love making them imitation BOV sounds...

  • Honda will win that race ALL THE TIME!!!

    HONDA FTW!!!

  • i don't know if you were looking hard enough but he was pulling him in and that was like what a 1/8th mile run lol

  • Honda FTW

  • Yes, they're getting rid of the Cobalt, just like they got rid of Cavaliers

    Lol.

  • if the cobalt is so great then why are they getting rid of it..... HMMMMMMMMMMMMM

  • They aren't... yet. They said that they might go on for a little while longer, but nothing for sure yet.

I suspect they will cancel them for a whole new model though. The Cobalt is a cheaper fuel-efficient car and they need something that can better compete in a category that is becoming so very important, so redoing a vehicle from the ground up with a new name, to start with a clean slate would be the smartest thing GM can do.

  • yes they are getting rid of it. 2010 will be the last year its made. then they will make the chevy cruize.... My girlfriends aunt is an engineer at the lordstown plant where they are made. :)

  • One problem: none of that is official, but for GM's sake it better be true!

  • ok if its not official then why do they have a giant ass poster on the plant that says... the cruize is coming....??? its official.. she's going back to work there soon to make the 2010 cobalts and then they are changing stuff around for the cruize..

  • GM has said they may or may not cancel the Cobalt. Nothing too do with the Cruze

  • Thye not getting rid of the balt tard the just changing the name and platform :P

  • Yes Cobalts do suck on turns bigtime. As my friend described test driving one, it felt like driving a bread truck.

If GM could put the same effort into Chevrolet as they do into the Corvette and Cadillac, Chevrolet would be a nice line but unfortunately they spend as little effort on the line as possible and it shows.

  • cobalts suck on turns? lol... open your eyes to automotive news in the past 5 years.... the 2008 cobalt ss beat the new evo and sti around multiple tracks including the nurburgring laguna seca, the car and driver lighning lap. it did a 3:13 in c and d to the civic si's 3:26, which the old ss/sc also beat at 3:20... .92 skid pad, 72.4 mph slalom... you dont know what your talking about buddy... and a simpple tune on a new cobalt yields 300 + whp and 320 + wtq

  • I guess if you like the way a bread truck turns the Cobalt turns just fine...

  • well it must be very embarassing for the rsx-s and civic si owners that the "bread truck" destroys their times around every track by more than 10 seconds.

  • so your saying the cobalt can do the slalom at almost the same speed as the 09 corvette Zr1 dont think so and there is no way it out handled an evo 8. cobalts trash. if your buying american dont get a lame ass american tuner its embarassing

  • im repeating it, caranddriver, road and track, motor trend, edmunds inside line... are all saying that... 72.4 mph slalom speed, and better track times than the evo 10 and sti.... pick up a magazine and read...

  • WOW guys with big ego's

  • and one other thing your 30 commenting on a vid on youtube for months get a life dude no one cares tht you suck gm's dick just remember whos company had to stop producing 80% of there product cuz no one wants to buy shit cans

  • Thank you shut these Gm bitches up...

  • db25 you are a smart guy you definetly know your stuff but when you beak about rsx stopping the production......... gm almost shut down its entire buisness ........ dont beak about stopping the production when gm almost died cuz there shit and they are cheat chargers lol throw one on an rsx-s and its faster wow hard to figure out hey.

  • the new cobalt SS eats on so many cars i drove on and hell it owns. great job to chevy for making that turbo SS.

  • Ion Redline has less wheelspin and is a bit lighter

  • my 06 Si with I/H/E eats these cobalts as well....its funny tho cause the Saturn Ion Redline with like the same engine is so much faster cause i struggle against them...but the Cobalts get destroyed...dunno why that is.

  • lol the cobalt is usually a bit faster, and an 06 ss/sc with your same mods would eat your civic

  • how about you s/c si would eat your ss

  • put the same m62 supercharger on the civic and it wont make 300 whp fully bolted, because of its high compression it cant go much over 10 psi, the cobalt can do 22-24 on that supercharger, and will make 300 whp fully bolted, the cobalt will still be faster lol

  • with the money to buy the m62, tune and fully bolt the civic. you could spend the same mney $ for $ on the cobalt, upgrade to a tvs and be between 320 and 350 whp while the si will be somewher in the 250-280 whp range

  • At the same time, chances for the SI motor blowing is slim to none, Chevy well Chevy only takes time and makes good motors for the Corvette not so much your Cobalts rofl. Civic is also a tad lighter.

  • actually the chances of the civics motor blowing are higher under boost because of high compression, and the cobalt's LSJ motor made WARDS TOP 10 ENGINE list... the k20 in the si and rsx-s DID NOT MAKE THIS LIST

  • Ahh well, that's life I suppose. All I know is that RSX-S has been dominating the Cobalt for a while. I hear a lot of smack from Cobalt owners yet I haven't seen any 500 or even 400hp Cobalt but I have seen over 600hp 8th gen Si's.. so idk.

  • Comment removed

  • if by dominating you mean people spend more money on modding them, than yes... any car can be made fast with enough money. stock v stock, $ v $ the ss/sc makes more power. 5 k can get the ss/sc to 450-500 whp. not something i would do on a front wheel drive car tho...

  • the ss/tc is a different story, all thats needed is 400$ to break 300 whp

  • less than that actually.

all you need is a tune.

    stock lnfs (ss/tc's)

come with a computer tune that limits power to 260. no matter the temperature, the ecm will adjust boost to make that power. all you need is a simple tune, to get rid of that and people have been easily making 305+ hp on the stock car. so easily less than 200 for someone like vince at trifecta to tune the ss/tc

  • Mike, if you read any tuner mags whatsoever, you would know that the ecotec motor that runs the SS has been putting out huge numbers for HP. Again, this is just a matter of doing a little research. Not trying to break your balls and say civics are crap, b/c they're not. But.... there is no way that you are going to extract more hp out of that 2.0L k20 honda motor than you would an LSJ chevy motor for a few hundred bucks. The LSJs were designed from ground up to be FI, the K20 was not.

  • mike.... aajaro is right, you simply cannot slap FI on a stock k20 motor and extract any sort of double digit psi without causing damage to stock internals. They're high compression to begin with, thats why they're quick NA motors. You put FI on those stock internals and that engine will have one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel. It would require some serious investment to overhaul the K20 (new pistons, crank) to make it put up some big hp.

  • Yeah, IDK I haven't done to much research only clowning around on youtube. I don't know much about Honda engines as I wasn't a fan before. Why is so much different? Like how much would you say a LSJ can hold like hp/tq vs a K20.

  • We'll leave nitrous out of this discussion and keep it with engine mods alone. If you are sticking with stock internals (piston, rings, crank, ect) then most of the LSJ's that have been upgraded to GM stage 2 or 3 are producing 250-260 hp. The stage kits from GM run $500-700. That's a boost of 45-55hp over stock. An Si by comparison can be upgraded on stock internals by doing the following: exhaust, CAI, headers. If you buy good stuff, these mods will run you about $1500-2000 and...

  • .... bring stock hp anywhere from 215-225 hp. Now keep in mind that these are basic upgrades. As you can see, there's a lot more you can get out of a forced induction motor than a naturally aspirated motor in this case.

  • Yup, I know it sounds crazy even with the Cobalt having so much more potential I'd still rather get an 8th gen Civic or 06' RSX-S=\.

  • I take it you arent including the 2008 and newer turbo SS's. Turbo upgrade there are a few now running 400+ WHP and 400+tq to match. Also there is one turbo Swapped LSJ I know of on the boards that is putting down over 400. ...anyway.

  • cobalt fails at driving hit the rev limiter like 20 times rofl...

  • Oops warranties

  • I just want you to acknowledge the k series potential, is this why its soo famous and so luster after and its the main reason people engine swap those engine into smaller, lighter cars. I'm fascinated by over 100 horse power per liter, with over 8000 rpm redlines. Its the main reason why I'm into M3, and ferraris, R8. Because they all have one thing in common, high compression ratio NA high revving engines.

  • The reason I'm so fascinated with the K series motor is because of its ability to produce great power NA. For instance my K series motor with cold air intake, Dc headers, exhaust I was able to get my car thru the quarter mile in 14.0-14.2. Now thats equal to the new SS, well at least in terms of drag race stats. Now I fully understand that the New SS can just get stage two and just beat it. But the point of my argument is the fact that the K series is an incredible motor for being 2.0Liters

  • Well, putting an intake, headers and exhaust on a car is definitely not an inexpensive upgrade. I'm guessing that should run anywhere from 1-2 grand if you get premium stuff (AEM, Borla, ect). If you can show me a video of an RSX or Si with only these upgrades hitting a 14 flat, then I'd give you props. By comparison, staging an SS costs $500, doesnt void factory warantee b/c it's a GM upgrade, and adds 40 hp. A bit of a better bang for the buck.

  • RSX-S's will lose everytime when the Balt SC has a decent driver. The turbo balts will crap all over an rsx. stfu about needing forced induction to win, it's the proper choice for a 4cyl. NA builds are over rated and over priced.... like the torqueless k20 ... Who wants to drive around town at 6000K RPM or above like vin deisel... gay...

  • I give props to mdb25 for being mature and not reverting to name calling or making personal remarks about people. Most people don't know how to "argue" without being "stupid." No doubt both engines are good engines. I never had any personal experience with the cobalt but from the stats it looks like a nice motor. All this arguing about cars doesn't mean anything anyways. People buy cars for different reasons and you cant have a car thats "better" than others at everything.

  • i'm sorry but i would much rather have a k-series motor from honda than any american made four banger. i don't care if it is NA or FI. the k-series motor will long be on the road after ecotec what-nots have been turn to dust. not to mention. people have hit 14.1 on the quarter straight off the showroom floor. although a 13.6 is great but you have .4 more liters and a super charger to make it .5 seconds faster than an SI civic. strap on a super charger to the k20 and see what happens.

  • also i don't doubt that the cobalt SS is a quick and well engineered little four banger but in the world of 4-cylinders i don't trust domestic four bangers. now if you wanna talk about v8's..... w00t!

  • .4 more litres? the k series is a 1.6?
