  • I timed this and got 6.36 seconds, which is bloody outstanding considering an astra VXR is 6.2 ;)

  • Hi!

Cant remember the exact time with the stopwatch but the timing i went off was by the frames in the video, so its as accurate as I could get.

  • It's ok hah, i timed it several times as sad as i am and it was 6.36 seconds!

  • such a nice car for the older generation. Nice to see the "Fogeys old car" on tinterweb!! Rovers are good for trundling to the shops or bingo!

  • It's also nice of the people that care for you to allow you to post comments on youtube, between that and feeding you apple sauce with a corked fork, they must be very busy!

  • you must be refering to Lady Fanny of Omaha!! Now Id like to go to the bathroom.

  • Lol!!! good reference spotting sir!

  • Damned quick for a non-turbo

  • This is a honda engine right? Sounds like one, but i could be wrong. i only ever had the T16 engine.

  • No, this is a T16 none turbo. It has a freeflow Scorpion exhaust, thats why it sounds as it does.

I did have the twin cam honda engined car before which is a lovely well engineered engine but the T16's extra 400cc does make a difference even though its heavier.

  • Ahh yeah, i forgot abou the non turbo. Was that still called a T16? I thought it was only the Turbo Equiped that was called T16? Hence the T! and being 16v? But saing that, im not realy into rovers engines so the 2ltr was probly the T Series? And so both are T16s? Probablt way off but hey!

  • G-20T4H or more commonly known as T16 Nasp or T16 Turbo. The engine in known as the T-series which replaced the M series that was in the montego's etc.

The 1.8 and 1.4 litre Rover engines where the K series still used today, also used in the Lotus elise. (1.8 vvc type)

  • Ahh i see. Thanks!

Dont usually get many people on you tube who actually explain or dont shoot you down for not knowing.

  • in the bubble rover 95 onwards, the 1.6 was a k series.

  • My 1.6 was the 1991 (Pre bubble) Honda twin cam version. That wasn't fitted with cat either as standard

  • Any mods???

  • Hey..

Yeah, Decat, Scorpion freeflow exhaust, Pipercross air filter, fse power valve, bottom end work, port matching. Think thats all.

  • nice quick car mate
