The Hd2 lock service "forgets" the pin code so you need to use Pocket shield or S2UL slide 2 unlock as your locking service.

@Rmoney4444 ya i found a way i believe.if your phone won't turn off just remove the battery in the back then put it back in while it's starting up just do what he does at 3.00 and it should reset everything to its factory settings.

This happens on all HTC WM6.5 phones !

THERE IS A WORKAROUND (to BYPASS THE LOCKSCREEN) WITHOUT THE HARD RESET but it's a non-public secret / service code.

HTC or Microsoft won't disclose it and so the function to protect users in fact makes them loose their data !!!

I saw a guy fixing locked out HD2. Here are the steps to do:

1. enter any numeric code multiple times until an alpha-numeric keyboard shows up with a note "enter a1b2c3 to proceed"

2. enter that secret code starting with *

This also happened me to day (hence, me looking up this video) I've only had my phone for 2 days! It was working fine just yesterday, but as I woke up and tried to unlock my phone it kept saying I had an 'incorrect" password and then when I kept trying it wouldn't even let me unlock and that window didn't even pop up anymore.

@ragdollx666x I wonder. Is it the HTC hardware or the Microsoft OS. I think the OS is garbage. The hardware is similar to the EVO which runs android. I have my keyboard always type the wrong thing. My ipod does not have that problem. I think I might try Android on the HD2 and compare..

I am Partha from India. It is strange that I have never faced these situations here with my recently acquired HD2. Why is that? Do we have a different specification of device here? For one, it is not fixed to any specific service provider. I have to buy a SIM card from the service provider separately. Also, the lockscreen on my device does not need any code - there is just this slider button which needs to be slid either to the left or right. The screen unlocks. .
