there are 3 problems with todays contests:

1. Mostly no namers in the competition, fans will get more pumped if its a bunch of stars

2. Crowd does not get very excited (mostly due to reason #1)

3. Waaaay to many props, it should just be someone to oop it for you or someone to jump over, thats it. It take them forever to set it up and its like just dunk the damn ball already. Besides I think just going up doing a sweet move and dunking is cooler than all the dunks that require little props
