I have this frequently... where i wake up caught between the sub concious and concious mind, then I gotta fight to make the concious mind win..then i wake up. Be careful with the crazy experiments.
I agree with them, I think the sub-c controls things that doesn't really concern the conscious mind, such as emotions, instinctive behaviour, etc. But it doesn't control who we are. That doesn't mean I don't think it's important, I think the sub-c is a result of our conscious mind, and as a result, it's our "insides," while the conscious mind is our "outsides."
