Bruce Lee didn't create Wing Chun, he created Jeet Kune Do and if you feel that his style doesn't work because you taught it, well, you may need to look at how you taught it. @xoulepas Bruce Lee was a fighter so don't put him in the ring- Put him in the street with Paquiao or whoever you like and I take Bruce over whoever. Yes he is only a man but he's soo deadly (just his hands alone) not to mention kicks or MA techniques. His hands (well conditioned) - an open hand technique from a man of this skill level and EXtreme speed Would make for a short fight. I do have a clue- I think his fist could change facial structure but his open hand would do More damage.

@Jet134 that in itself is a method, not thinking, and training the body to just react, actually it really does require a method in order to react like that. No one can do that just right off the bat, you have to train to be able to do that, by which you follow a certain methodology of a training regiment to achieve that level of muscle memory and reaction speed.
Yeah there is a TRAINING METHOD of course. Like you said body training and such. But for the actual art itself thats not a method. Its just body and mind moving as one. To achieve that you must train real hard. Bruce Lee taught several moves and methods of various martial arts during training sessions. But he never said "This is Jeet kune Do" it was just training. Jeet Kune Do itself is just a name for a concept. And that can be narrowed down to "be like water. using no way as way.

I'm not saying that I would be an MMA champion because I haven't trained in years, but I can say this much, there are many well trained martial artists that would whip any of these MMA fighters, past or present. These videos with them fighting black belts are a joke, mainly because they BB's ARE a joke. The problem is that you'll never see these people fight because they don't have anything to prove. It's just a different mentality.

@Jet134 JKD is not a style it is a method, a philosophy is you would, which was never meant to be passed on to anyone, because no one could do what bruce could.
There are many speculations, edema was the only thing found in his body, but it doesn't really matter, he was a great loss and inspiritation to all.

Uhm its not a method. method and style in fighting means basicly the same. You can find enough quotes of him saying "Jeet Kune Do is merely a concept" Or soemthing close to it. Using no way also means using no method. Because he moves and reacts like water. Which needs no method or style. I cant really explain in such great detail on youtube. I suggest you do some more research.
But yes Bruce was indeed a great loss. He lived a live worth remembering.

@Jet134 that in itself is a method, not thinking, and training the body to just react, actually it really does require a method in order to react like that. No one can do that just right off the bat, you have to train to be able to do that, by which you follow a certain methodology of a training regiment to achieve that level of muscle memory and reaction speed.

Yeah there is a TRAINING METHOD of course. Like you said body training and such. But for the actual art itself thats not a method. Its just body and mind moving as one. To achieve that you must train real hard. Bruce Lee taught several moves and methods of various martial arts during training sessions. But he never said "This is Jeet kune Do" it was just training. Jeet Kune Do itself is just a name for a concept. And that can be narrowed down to "be like water. using no way as way.

I'm not saying that I would be an MMA champion because I haven't trained in years, but I can say this much, there are many well trained martial artists that would whip any of these MMA fighters, past or present. These videos with them fighting black belts are a joke, mainly because they BB's ARE a joke. The problem is that you'll never see these people fight because they don't have anything to prove. It's just a different mentality.

Not sure myself. Skipped a beat. Was referring to my sensei and his sensei. Predominantly my master, in the technical sense was I speaking. The power is so immense that it would just be impossible for them to hit him. He's a big guy at 6'2 and 230, could be a bit off...and the speed of his hands is lightening quick. I've seen him break through police handcuffs. I don't care who you are, or what you think, that is formidable strength. And this guy is like 60. Believe me, he would destroy.

Here's a fact: Chuck Norris said on record that if he and Bruce were to fight to the death, Bruce would win! Bruce did fight several known fighters as well as film stars always said he was the best! Sorry but I respect Norris as a fighter so if he says Bruce is best, I believe it. Jeet koon do is one of the worlds deadliest martial arts, put together by Bruce Lee. A fake wouldn't even be able to dream of it, he knew his stuff.

it got its footwork and kicking from savate, its fundamental application from yip man wing chun kung fu, and its grappling from shuai jow. dont be fooled, you wrote to me of how you have crossed trained in various styles and continue to do so. for instance the void form in ninjitsu has its origins in a more ancient application of chinese kung fu known as gates or doors whilst creating an illusion of center line. i can see why your reasoning would allow you to believe ninjitsu is in jkd.
