  • Great video. I have a '60 SCII. Keeps my Turbo R good company ;)

  • your stupid logo is in the way. such low class tactics.

  • The grille on my silver cloud looks just like the grille on my phantom! they look so beautiful side-by-side

  • You did a very nice job on this video. I own a Silver Spur but the Cloud is an ever endearing automobile.

  • It's amazing I searched for "James Young Phantom" and got this video, and those words are not in the tag list. James Young was by far the best coach builder; made any Rolls that wasn't a James Young edition look second rate.

  • 5 stars for the 80's yupie look!

  • yank wanting to be one of us. Get back in your yank pile of shit

  • My one and only dream is to own one of these.

    Beautiful..

  • What a waste of time. I hoped to find out something about what, IMO, is the most beautiful car ever made, but all I got was nearly ten minutes crammed full of absolutely no worthwhile information whatsoever. And to add insult to injury, appalling techno doof. This man should never be let near another Rolls Royce.

  • The color on this automobile is gorgous!

  • @CzapigaKielbasa I agree. It almost looks like French Vanilla at times. If it really was French Vanilla I wonder if people would still think it's a wedding car?

  • @1915fas The only thing that I do not care for is the ending music. It's aweful! Doesn't fit this vehicle at all.

  • @CzapigaKielbasa I agree!

  • very nice but they could of picked a better presenter. " its not like it has keyless go" wtf

  • Et voilà......

  • Comment removed

  • id love to drive one just once just so i can say i was at the helm of one of the finest cars ever made.

  • @rebelwrenches A friend of mine did and he said he never wanted to stop!

  • I have a 1956 Silver Cloud like this one.... Bob Hale in England. Simply the BEST.

  • Keyless go, in a Rolls-Royce? Never!

  • i thought rolls royze was floating =/

  • Quite a superb cutting edge video with impressive transitions and editing!

  • the only cars for me are those with a V12 or a V8 motor Like the mustang, the charger, the chalenger, i like the american musle cars they got over 700 horsepower those are for me !!! :)

  • @RundownCK183- The Silver Cloud would never have been the car for you, then, even if you'd been around when it was being made- I don't know if you were- and able to afford one new. Many Silver Clouds do in fact have a V8 motor, and many Rolls-Royces built since have used V12 engines. But the Silver Cloud is all about grace, comfort, dignity, both for itself and the handful who are priveleged to own it. The best style and comfort- and damn the costs- is what any Rolls-Royce is about.

  • this ain't for me i like Mustangs Dodge Chargers,Chalengers you know musle cars the kind with over 700 horse power :)

  • @RundownCK183- The Silver Cloud weighs over 2 tons, takes just over 10 seconds to reach 60mph, and almost certainly never had more than 200-something horsepower in either of its motors. The attitude held by Rolls-Royce is that when style and comfort, and lower speed driving, is considered premium, not much emphasis is placed on the idea of hauling butt down the road and tearing around corners. Muscle cars, though fast and powerful, are not at all as refined as a Silver Cloud.

  • nice car, tho not as nice as the standard body and it seems a pity the video was made about a white car , which dosnt show the lines well and has overtones of wedding hack. but the video itself is overproduced with too much gushing, too many cliche shots and too much random driving around. no objection to the narrator, he could only be as good as the stuff he was given to say

  • @mobykarl- I disagree.

  • Here is the perfect example of synergism, the car is more than the sum of it's parts. It is a statement of lofty human achievement rather than a vulgar status symbol. We shall never pass this way again.

  • @Mrtriumphchopper- The day of the Silver Cloud has irretrievably passed, sir. Today, it seems is the day of the far more vulgar Escalade. Such a shame.

  • Here is perfect example of my nuts. You are all faggots and you all eat shit!!!!

WHOOP WHOOP WHOOP WHOOP!!!! MY DADDY KEEPS HIS COCK IN MY ASS WHEN IT'S COLD OUT

  • This is an example of shit. It's stinks and it's brown. My daddy is an assraping whore!!!!!

  • The top of the hill is passed - mankind is going downwards.

  • @miamisunkrokodile- But what a hilltop it was, and we reached it when we built the Silver Cloud. If ever there was a peak moment for humanity, a point we will always be able to look back on with pride, the Silver Cloud's production years- 1955-1962- were it.

  • @Jurassic0Al It might be fair to point out that technically the Grand Mercedes 300 was more advanced with a unitized body among many other features. It was favored by the likes of Gable and Cooper. The Silver Cloud by contrast was referred to by one car author as a 'modern antique' which I think is an accurate term.

  • this Mulliner bodied car however nice just goes to show how spot-on the standard steel SCIII was

  • I'm not too much a fan of the older models but, nonetheless Rolls Royces are the ULIMATE IN LUXURY (no matter if they are the older models or the modern-day models).

  • the guy in this video is a total little rich kid.....so sad....my parents have money and i dont even look that dorky...nice car...but this video would have been better minus mr. ivyleauge.

  • Rich kid wannabe would be more like it. I don't think the genuinely rich run around in blazers with blue jeans (and loafers without socks, for that matter). I think that look is for people who went to private schools, but who have no money.

  • I give up to watch the video because of him.

    sincerly he´s a serious Wannabe.

On THAT age he never drived a Rolls, looks so.

And we are not talking about a new one.

    Disgusting , he´s a parody.

  • @farodkhaledmossad- Pardon me?

  • This is the best cars. We dont need commentary by a 20 year old.

  • My favorite car of them all.

  • what is the name of the song on 1.50?

in the netherlands It's known under the trancelated name: The Dance of the Death so I wonder if it is the correct song for the video :-P

  • Danse Macabre, by Saint-Saens. Actually, I found it somewhat suggestive in this context.

  • I will take one with a double cheeseburger and a diet coke.

  • What, no grey poupon?

  • ha ha

  • @amesguy515- Someone seems to have forgotten it.

  • the narrator is too poetic

  • I hope its not built like a Sherman, they caught fire on sight of a spark. I don't think its religious

  • Thought it was bespoke.C pillar...AA!looks best in two tone or black. They're actually quite cheap though (50000 NZD in good condition)especially the Bentley S version.

  • i agree

  • The SC I was a beautiful car, even in standard steel. Mechanically I think they were years out of date when first produced and more so as the engine was bored out in an effort to cope with power equipment before an attempt to cast aluminum heads for the SC II's V8. The company recommended white in hot climates because of the very weak AC. Keeping those valves adjusted (when possible) is a chore, but worth it. Otherwise "sewing machine".

  • That is not a car but art on wheels (and I am not into classic cars!)... beautiful

  • Not just a Silver Cloud, but a Silver Cloud LWB ;D With a division window!

"On cars fitted with the automatic gearbox..." I think all Silver Clouds were automatics. Of the Dawn/Wraith cars (the generation before the Cloud), about 1/3 were manual and 2/3 automatic transmissions.

Also, the Cloud, or at least the Cloud I, didn't have power steering :P

  • oh shut up....

  • You first.

  • I believe you could special order a manual transmission Silver Cloud. The entire car is special order, so talking about custom ordering a transmission could be redundant.

  • Hmmm :| If any Silver Clouds were built with manual transmissions, it must have been just a few cars, because I've seen photos on at least a few hundred and none of them had manual transmissions.

  • @Jurassic0Al right at the beginning a handfull with manual were made.but i suspect there was no demand so they never did again. there was always the problem as they branched out into a world market that the floor shift was only on the right hand drives, so americans would have been stuck with a far more clumsy shift like the earlier dawns/R types

  • @pluglather- That sounds about right. The Silver Cloud is one of the only Rolls-Royces I have ever heard of having a manual gearbox, ever. And I can imagine that demand for a manual gearbox in the Silver Cloud was never all that high. And yes, then there was the issue of adapting transmissions to the American market. The Silver Cloud is an amazing car. I wonder how many were made with a manual gearbox, where they are now, and what they're like to drive.

  • @Jurassic0Al of course up to the dawn all rolls royces and bentleys were manual, with a floor shift next to the door (except the early 20hp models in the 20s and the left hand drive dawns and mark Vi bentleys. after WW2 the company like all english car companies was compelled to export and needed an automatic to compete. i think only about 6 manual clouds were ever delivered , it ceased to be an option almost immediately, and they would all have gone to english buyers, being floor shifts

  • @pluglather- You really know your stuff on this, that's for sure. Yes, given the popularity of manuals in Europe and automatics in North America, especially on a car as expensive as the Silver Cloud, not even bothering to market a manual in America makes sense. Automatic transmissions have, since the Silver Cloud, been the standard on Rolls-Royce cars. I've never heard of one having a manual for however brief a time after this model.

  • wow. great video. amazing. 5/5.

  • The Silver Cloud is one of those cars I've known and dreamed about since I was very little...one of my first matchbox cars was a Silver Cloud. The Silver Cloud is one of those cars where people look at it and say, "How can anyone possibly surpass this? How can it even be matched?"

Truly, the Silver Cloud is a car where Rolls-Royce got everything right. It is a monument, a testament, to just how far the automobile has come, and how far it can go. Beautiful.

  • AHA i had the same Matchbox, it was a white one in the 80s wasnt it ?

Loved the way it shined, although now i like verry different cars.

  • 1st class! 5 star car video

  • Buy one now. I bought my white Silver Cloud I 17 years ago for $50,000 Australian. They have dropped in price to $30,000 Australian. I believe it is because so many other cars over last 2 decades have made it into classic and vintage. Mine was one of the first to be made so does not have power steering. Apart from that, driving it turns heads and gives me a big head.

  • best car ever made

  • worlds most beautiful car

  • @Don1mafia i thinkso. i had seen a maroon/burgundy cvoloured rolls like this. with a burguny/maroon/silver two tone. i was in awe. that car was just absolutely gorgeous

  • Great video like the car, from a french MGB owner....

  • *(Correction Made)...Your video seems to be professionally made. I give you five stars! Bravo! *You look like you live in Connecticut. I know that State well. I wanted to live there and still might.

  • Your video seems to be professionally made. I give you five stars! Bravo! Your look like you live in Connecticut. I know that State well.

  • I adore the older models. I am used to them more so than the newer ones. I know the newer models have more up to date gadgets and all that, however, the styling is for those who have no recollection of yesteryear and just how it felt to live a certain way, which has mostly been lost these days. Sadly. No, The olde cars have more class and style and just feel better. Makes one feel like the Queen, of any realm. It feels like pure luxury.

  • The doors, boot and bonnet were indeed made of aluminium alloy but the rest was steel. Get rid of the wide white walls. They cheapen the car.

  • The only reason this car looks so "conspicuous" today is because all new cars are small, plastic and look like crap!

  • That's very true. Back in the 30's 40's and 50's many cars were big and brash like the Rolls. They may not have been built as well as a Rolls but they had the presentation.

  • What a great video of a very special Silver Cloud I.

  • Too cool. Love it!

  • Awesome job guys! Bring on the vette!

  • Awesome video... this should be on the Discovery Channel
