  • the country I'm from has many problems, however in reality do you really think it's that funny?

  • @drakich1

Given that many Americans actually embrace this sort of craziness...

From the outside looking in, it's hilarious

  • Great video dude, im from Melbourne and i totally agree with what you are saying, i myself do refer a lot of crazy shit back to the U.S.A and the case you spoke about child abuse, is completely normal in America, when my friends tell me outrageous stories or bizaare things, i automatically assume its from America, and that is exactly what i say to them. So well done on your video 5/5

  • "Only in America." Sane Americans say that too, often with one palm to the face.

  • Obama is a marxist,he wants religion OUT of schools and homosexuality to poison our youth and our morality. NO OTHER country condones homosexuality and it ruins the usa's image to other countries when we condone homosexuality. The entire world is laughing at us for allowing homosexuality to control the country. Lets not forget that this is one nation UNDER GOD. This is a Christian nation and we must uphold our Christian ideals.

  • Oh, the irony

What you're saying is EXACTLY why the planet is laughing at you. Not because of Obama (because of him, we're laughing a lot less), not because of the acceptence of homosexuality or anything else...

it's because it's a nation of dumbfuck god-nuts just like yourself, who seem to think that because some other god nuts 50-100 years ago managed to get 'god' put into the pledge, that's its always been a christian nation. You, more than anything else, are the reason why the US is a joke

  • Oh, yeah, and your statement 'NO OTHER country condones homosexuality...'.

Here's a short list of nations that DO condone homosexuality...

Canada, UK, Australia, EU (all of it).

And here's a list of some of the nations that DO NOT condone homosexuality...

    Saudi Arabia, Iran, Syria.

You're right, the world is laughing at you because of your stance on homosexuality... Prop 8 showed the planet that you're a nation of ignorant, backwards hicks.

  • There are plenty of countries that condone homosexuality. I am also sure that most countries don't really care if the USA does condone so I don't think you need to worry about image problems. Obama is not a marxist, otherwise he would have never gone for president, he would have killed people that opposed him like people in Russian history did. Lastly I am a Christian too, but I don't believe christian religion should be pushed in schools. Its a choice what a person believes in, you biblebasher

  • You are a disgrace to America and sane Americans. Crazy fuckwits like you have destroyed this country. Yeah, he does want religion out of schools because the CONSTITUTION clearly states that there should be separation between church and state. YOU FUCKING INBRED PIECE OF SHIT.

  • America is a nation full of sick fucks, some people think Obama will save America, no hope, you can't save a people who are totally screwed up and worthless. Not all of them, but about 70 percent of them are.

  • You could write a book about all the strange shit that goes on in America.

It would be about 20 volumes.

    ----------------------------------

I have a mixture of contempt and pity for that nation.

  • "only in America" that saying made it all the way to Australia! Fuck in live in America and we say it here

  • lol the conclusion at the end; "the world is laughing at you" sums it up perfectly, probably your best video so far

  • You are right that we have become the laughing stock of the free world. Gladly, I have to say that John McCain really doesn't have a snow balls chance in Arizona of becoming president. People here identify him too much with the failed Bush policies that got us into this mess to begin with. Furthermore we are the only industrialised nation that still used an old measuring system. I wish we would do like Australia did and educate the public then make it compulsory in 5 years.

  • I have to agree that a good many Americans are so blinded by their washed brains. Though I am a very patriotic person I still have my eyes open and I tend to question things that aren't making sense. As far as the banking thing. I am so sick of that. I am glad to say that the party I identify with is the party that would have never allowed this banking mess to happen in the first place. Democrats are vilified for wanting responsible regulation to keep things like that happening.

  • We swedes like that expression too!

    Bara i USA! :P

  • The only thing I really want to take issue with is the statement "most Americans believe the earth is 6000 years old". Fundamentalist nutcases make a lot of noise but they are hardly a majority. BTW you have creationist organizations in your country too. Sarah Palin? Holy shit I couldn't agree more. She's going to make it really hard to rig the voting to ensure McCains victory.

  • Ansonidak, you're probably right. I'm sure the poll stating how many people are creationists, isn't the most accurate piece out. And yes, we have fundies here too... but they're really not taken seriously. We don't have creation museums, and it would be political suicide for a polititian to admit to being a creationist.

Though I don't want this to turn into some international pissing contest. I'm not trying to say the US is all bad, just that it seems to be the home of fucked up wierdness

  • "it seems to be the home of fucked up wierdness"

Heh no argument there at all my friend! Regarding fundies and creationists it is indeed disturbing and embarrassing to a lot of us in America the number of people who hold these fruitloop ideas. Thankfully we actually have some smart, honest judges that are helping to keep this dangerous anti-science bullshit out of our schools.

  • Good job stereotyping.

Not all United States citizens are such morons, and I like to think that there are some good qualities of the USA. But go ahead, focus only on the United States' imbeciles and its shortcomings while making broad generalizations of over 300,000,000 people.

  • 'Good job stereotyping'

When did I say that all US citizens are morons? I wasn't generalizing at all about the people in the US, I was talking about the shit that happens there, that I'm sure you think is just as fucked up as I do. I did make some sweeping statements about fundie religious people, but that's not the entire 300,000,000 people there

  • "Not all United States citizens are such morons"

Of course not. But you just have to damit that *relatively* speaking, there are more of such morons in the US than anywhere else in the world.

I'm not even saying the americans are somehow more stupid than other people in the "western world".

It's just that America is prone to a certain kind of stupidity that is especialy dangerous to the world as a whole. There's also this realy vicious kind of anti-intelactualism, giving those people power.

  • "There's also this really vicious kind of anti-intellectualism, giving those people power."

I definitely agree with that statement. That's why the prospect of Sarah Palin becoming vice president-- a heartbeat away from president-- scares me.

  • "That's why the prospect of Sarah Palin becoming vice president scares me."

You and me, brother. And I'm not even american. But then again, the POTUS has (technicaly) more "foreign powers" than "interiour powers" (if you know what I mean); and in that regard, Sarah Palin has the potential of becoming the most dangerous president (in light of what she said about Putin and Russia) since Reagan.

After all, she potentialy IS just a heartbeat away from the presidency. I mean... McCain's FRAIL.

  • "the prospect of Sarah Palin becoming vice president-- a heartbeat away from president-- scares me."

    Scares you?

    Scares most of us!

  • Don't take it personally. He did not say all and he did not mean that. He was trying to say there are some apathetic, disconnected and/or ridiculous people in our country. That is true. Look at this list and tell me we don't have problems: our military industrial complex, our govt., our economy, our political and electoral system, our fiat money system, the zealotous religious right, our corporate controlled media & the shit that goes on every day that you don't see on t.v.

    The list goes on.

  • Yeah, I overreacted earlier. I had a bad day.

Maybe I was just trying to protect any last shred of hope in my mind that the US isn't headed for catastrophe.

mconn2112, you are definitely right in saying "the list goes on". Is there any hope?

  • No worries. There's hope it just isn't with this bail out. This bail out that we will pay for is going predominantly into foerign investors hands that bought our mrtgage backed securities. We will pay their compensation to continue to do business with the U.S. Not to mention the few hundred million we will pay the criminals that ran these comanies into the ground.

  • Like I said, I have heard from different financial analyst/pro sources some alternative ideas that make sense and don't require the taxpayer to pay a dime. The best thing to do is let these companies fail. That is how the system is set up and that is how it should be. We don't need these big banks. The reason big banks exist is to make the bank owners millions of dollars for their pockets.

  • i wish i had the money to leave

  • March 2008 - Oregon city - 15month old girl died of infection after parents treated her only with 'prayer'.

June 2008 - 16yo Neil Beagley dies after relying on faith rather than medical treatment.

The boy was the uncle of the 15month old.

Both families belong to the same faith-healing-believing church.

Wisconsin March 2008 - 11yo dies from treatable diabetes after her parents prayed instead of seeking medical help.

You're right. The religious nuttery is just rampant there.

  • Too true. And believe me, we are all laughing at this McCain-Palin disaster. Blame the Republicans for making the US the laughingstock of the world. Sigh.

  • "Blame the Republicans for making the US the laughingstock of the world."

Too true, I remember when I was a child, thinking that the USA would be a wonderful place to live. Such a progressive and exciting place with a "can do" attitude alas, it seems from the outside the "can do" is turning into "woo"

  • Things are very fucked here my friend. Anyone that has the audacity to give you shit is either in complete denial or not from here. LOL!

  • I'm expecting a bit of flak. Some americans are painfully patriotic... even blindly so sometimes. I found that out in the video I did a few weeks ago 're:Obama's Patriotism Problem', where a lot of people told me I was wrong, but nobody told me how or why patriotism is so important.

  • Don't get me started. Most people mistake patriotism for nationalism. Regardless, no one had any control over where they were born and to what race and culture. For someone to falsely believe in this sense of ownership of a race and geographic location is fucking silly.

  • I can see how it may be funny when you aren't knee-deep in stupidity. Living here is a lot less funny.

  • Awesome, just awesome. Yeah We're "the greatest coun try in the world" my ass. We are a belicose lumbering giant, as sam Harris so eloquently put it. Great video.
