Hey guys, I was wondering where to get the probiotic culture. Is it available online. I'm dying to try this but I'm from Ireland and there isn't much of a market yet for that kind of thing.
it would be really doesn't matter to spend 3 days to make this outstanding cashew free rennet cheese. no harms to the cows and also a big surprise for friends and family :)"
great work martha & brock! can't wait for ur other vegetarian ideas :D"
whoa ive never heard of white pepper..i guess thats why they say BLACK pepper when refering to ''black pepper'' i always thought they were just trying to state the obvious (:
---> also..you could have added the chives before processing so that it could've been better incorperated into the cheese..just saying...Great vid.! ^-^
@silverlithomes I get excited around baseball season, so expect to hear about the Blue Jays now and again. With respect to talking about rennet, I felt it was important to mention. Thanks for your comment!
i'm sorry but english is my second language and i really wanna make this but i cant understand the names of the things in the jars and it would be easier for me if u could please give me the names written and that way i can translate it, cause i really wanna make this :D
5:35-5:51 - add 1 Tablespoon of nutritional yeast, pinch of white pepper, 2 teaspoons of garlic salt, and pinch of fresh nutmeg (you can substitute these with other ingredients or herbs in your cupboard too)

Thanks for the video. A bit less padding out and a few more close-ups of what you were doing would have been good.

looks good. I'm going to try this...thinking that I can just use a couple of my probiotic tablets for the bacteria?

It shouldn't take you 1:35 min to actually get to the point!

does it melt like regular cheese when it's under heat?

@GreenBlack52 Good question, not sure. We used it as a spread on crackers.

do you have to use a bacterial culture or probiotic?
blackdiamond61105 1 year ago
@blackdiamond61105 No you don't have to, but then it doesn't hold as much of a "cheesy" texture quite as well.

Looking so nice.
Is it possible to make something similar without the bacteria culture?
C8Shay 1 year ago
@C8Shay I suppose you could, but it wouldn't 'culture' as cheese does. But the cashew 'paste' would still taste nice ;)

I'm glad you showed the bowl and strainer - had no idea what those items were...
asymptote9x 1 year ago
@asymptote9x The cheese cloth is great for this recipe and you should be able to find it in almost any health food store.
