  • Hey guys, I was wondering where to get the probiotic culture. Is it available online. I'm dying to try this but I'm from Ireland and there isn't much of a market yet for that kind of thing.

  • Good work Brock and Marta. Keep shining the vegan light.

  • Please post recipe below video xoxo Makes it easier.

  • I wonder if I could use this to make like a ravioli. I think ill give it a try. Thanks for the recipe.

  • Thanks for the video. A bit less padding out and a few more close-ups of what you were doing would have been good.

  • looks good. I'm going to try this...thinking that I can just use a couple of my probiotic tablets for the bacteria?

  • it would be really doesn't matter to spend 3 days to make this outstanding cashew free rennet cheese. no harms to the cows and also a big surprise for friends and family :)"

great work martha & brock! can't wait for ur other vegetarian ideas :D"

  • what is the name of the vegetarian bacterial culture used?

  • FWIW - any Kosher cheese is made using vegatble rennet sustitute.

just look for the (K) on the package.

  • whoa ive never heard of white pepper..i guess thats why they say BLACK pepper when refering to ''black pepper'' i always thought they were just trying to state the obvious (:

---> also..you could have added the chives before processing so that it could've been better incorperated into the cheese..just saying...Great vid.! ^-^

  • it looks like you are growing medical marijuana on the first two days then the plants changes to a bigleafsomethingoranother.

  • @kingorbit haha, no, no pot, just cheese ;)

  • It shouldn't take you 1:35 min to actually get to the point!

  • @silverlithomes I get excited around baseball season, so expect to hear about the Blue Jays now and again. With respect to talking about rennet, I felt it was important to mention. Thanks for your comment!

  • does it melt like regular cheese when it's under heat?

  • @GreenBlack52 Good question, not sure. We used it as a spread on crackers.

  • do you have to use a bacterial culture or probiotic?

  • @blackdiamond61105 No you don't have to, but then it doesn't hold as much of a "cheesy" texture quite as well.

  • i'm sorry but english is my second language and i really wanna make this but i cant understand the names of the things in the jars and it would be easier for me if u could please give me the names written and that way i can translate it, cause i really wanna make this :D

    on min. 2:19

    min. 3:24 cheese what?

    min 5:35-5:51

    thank you :) x

  • @paulettero You'll find a link to the recipe below the episode in the information box.

    2:19 - bacterial culture

    3:24 - cheese cloth

5:35-5:51 - add 1 Tablespoon of nutritional yeast, pinch of white pepper, 2 teaspoons of garlic salt, and pinch of fresh nutmeg (you can substitute these with other ingredients or herbs in your cupboard too)

  • @fitfortwotv thanks =D

  • @paulettero You're welcome :) Let us know how it turns out for you.

  • @VegetarianFound Yes you can.

  • @VegetarianFound Glad you like the show!

  • @VegetarianFound My guess would be about a week, but it never lasts that long around here ;)

  • Looking so nice.

Is it possible to make something similar without the bacteria culture?

  • @C8Shay I suppose you could, but it wouldn't 'culture' as cheese does. But the cashew 'paste' would still taste nice ;)

  • I'm glad you showed the bowl and strainer - had no idea what those items were...

  • @asymptote9x The cheese cloth is great for this recipe and you should be able to find it in almost any health food store.

  • Thanks for this! I was looking for good info on making cashew cheese and your video is just what I needed.

  • @MyNameIsShelby No problemo! We love sharing recipes that are healthy and tasty. enJOY! :)

  • Thanks! If you try it, we'd love to know how you like it :)
