NEVER do this glitch with a real DKC2 cartridge and SNES system! This glitch is so severe that it's known to permanently damage both the game and even the system itself! If you must try it, do it on an emulator, but don't be surprised if it messes your emulator up either.
@SuperDave341 This glitch has been known to permanently damage systems. You are arguing about something that is already known to be fact. It doesn't have to be memory related you know.
@JMFSpike A cartridge cannot corrode the ram of a video game system. A glitch is not strong enough. If you tell me that it may damage the system im suprised that most game genie code or other crazy glitch found on other SNES and NES game do not cause any damage to the system
@JMFSpike There is no single glitch in the world of video game that can Damage a video game system (Except system like the Sega Saturn or the xbox who have internal memory)
@jckzz I suggest you put yours back on, because you are arguing against something that's fact. I suggest you(and anyone else who questions me) do some research on this glitch.
I've done it on my own cartridge so many times and never lost anything other than a save file, or all my save files. Someone show me some evidence please, until then my comment stands.
As for killing the emulator (software), you're an idiot if you think this is possible. Get an understanding of how ROMs work before you continue talking.
I've seen a few videos of it. None of them show the emulator closing, then reopening, then loading the ROM.
In terms of Emulators, they don't WRITE to the ROM file, they only READ. It may screw up the checksum while the emulator is still running, but completely restarting it will in NO WAY DAMAGE THE ROM. It's not possible.
Again, the Emulator does NOT write to the ROM. Fuck
I also heard that if you try out this glitch on the SNES, your console may get all screwed up or something like that. Same goes to the emulator. Thank god it never happened to me...
@SuperDave341 It all depends on the type of Glitch. This one, is the worst type of glitch in DKC2. ( Type A I am pretty sure) That is why Nintendo removed it for the virtual console. If it wasn't so harmful as it is on the SNES, they wouldn't have bothered removing the glitch in the virtual console in the first place.
@Dixiegurl56 The reason the glitch was fixed was simply because of the glitch that cause the game save to be corrupted (not because the SNES has ben KOED) This type of glitch is the same in the pokemon first generation serie with glitch pokemon
Played with this glitch, crashed Zsnes with a weird stack error a few times. Though the crash times occured most frequently when turned into K.Rool.

if you do this in an emulator, back up your emulator and ROM and run it in sandboxie

it's not so average as you are talking, it can damage your cartridge, but not the system.
Starringxb3 2 years ago
No, it can actually damage the system itself. It damages emulators too. Plenty of people have experienced it
JMFSpike 2 years ago
@JMFSpike the snes do not have a internal memory, so the system cannot be screwed up by a glitch

@JMFSpike I did this glitch on my SNES and DKC2 cartridge and it just deleted those two files.
jlpdotcom 1 year ago
@jlpdotcom Yeah, It can corrupt or erase save files too. The glitch is very unpredictable and dangerous to mess with.
JMFSpike 1 year ago
@jlpdotcom you can try to change the litium battery and your cartridge will be restored

@JMFSpike
It wont damage the cartridge 'permanently'. It may delete your saves, but that's not damage.
And how can an emulator be "messed up"? It's software.
Put your tin foil hat back on.

@jckzz You got lucky then. You can do the research yourself.
JMFSpike 1 year ago
@JMFSpike
I don't need to research. I'm not a fucking moron. A ROM cannot corrupt itself in that regard.
jckzz 1 year ago
@jckzz Then you will have to remain ignorant I guess. There is a video of it screwing up a Rom.

Wow what a messed up glitch on Donkey Kong Country 2!
coinexpert17 2 years ago 2
This is by far the best glitch in Donkey Kong Country 2.

Weird? When I tried this glitch on my emulator, I just turned into Rambi and carried on as normal. I have the (E) Donkey Kong Country 2: v1.1
Xtreme7200 3 years ago 6
I have done that a few times before and do you know how to turn into Klubba?

No how?

No, I figured you knew how to.

lol, looks like someone has the guts to do this glitch =) The first time I done this glitch, I lost 2 saved games. lol

yep and I also have dkc2 on the wii but I am definitely not doing this glitch on there!
