@MPT1983 I think the reason they didn't want to use the those two is because they just wanted to stick the characters in the comics and Rockstudy and Behop where not characters from the comics even though they where designed by Eastemen and Larid for the classic TMNT 80's TV show but a lot of people of the old TMNT show don't egknowledge Larid or Eastmen for creating the TMNT and producers of the movies didn't want use characters from the show and focus more on the comics not 80's show

In the original comics, the live action movies and the 2k3 series Splinter is indeed Master Yoshi's pet rat which was mutated by the Ooze. And I like that background way better.

@ 2:20...this subway actually DOES exist in NYC but is not in use. It is known as the "secret subway" of NYC. It is the original City Hall stop that was put out of use some decades ago because of the curve gap between the platform and the train. (Train that passes there is the 6 train at the last stop [Brooklyn Bridge]) If you stay on the train after the last stop it will pass by the station which looks like a ghost town and wrap around to the beginning of the Brooklyn Bridge station.

There was also supposed to be a twist ending where Professor Perry turned out to be a Utrom, but that idea was scrapped at the last minute. Of course, if they made some movies with all the details, then it would be a lot longer and there's the chance of people getting bored with it.
