@245PrzerabiaczPowrot wtf !!!! don't tell us it will actually last a whole month!!!! will they be letting You guys out for a quick bite? say hello to Your mom !
I'm in agreement with the view everythings evolves and moves on, few bands excel in starting fresh from an idea, lyrics or music arrangement. they don't use the last song as a jumping board but rather fly into the song's elevation uniquely. i would count Anathema among these bands with the end result that I come back to their songs to try a different flavor befitting a certain mood !
Allways liked anathema..old and new since 1995...But its has been to long with this softstyle...I think its appropriate to come forward with something that sounds like this again. If they still got the feeling for it...That would have been great.
That's the thing people forget about bands. You can ask them over and over to do more in the vein of their older stye, but if they don't feel it anymore, then it feels flat and dull when they attempt to emulate it.

If this is plagiarized, probably half of all metal tracks are a rip off. It's likely they got some inspiration from Wolfheart, but ultimately they made something far less boring. Probably I could still listen to this ten years later, while Wolfheart already started to bore me out of my skull after just a few listenings.
@mitzuzauru the songs are from the same year you fuckretard, Do you know how long does it take to write down an album? It is simply NOT possible. And in ANY case, if the songs have anything to do each other, then i am Jenna Jameson and you can keep on wank your mind forever.
well im not complexing anyone with anything im just telling you the fact... i know what 'sala' sounds like and also im pretty sure the voice you hear in song is 'sala'. That doesnt mean anathema give religious messages or they are muslims:) they just used 'sala' cuz it fits the song. Cuz it fits the song's mood. nothing more.
@realnextasy Dont be so sure. First of all "salaa " is the physical act of praying the whole body movements and so . "tilaawa / tajweed " or is what youre referring to. Im muslim and arabic is my first language and im telling you what we are hearing is most likely NOT Quraan verses . While it may sound like " tajweed " , which is an act of reading Quraan verses in a certain rythmic and gramatical way , it is most certainly not.
@92mosess im not saying they put the whole sala in this song. but the story of the song proves that the sound we hear ATLEAST originated/inspired by sala. im also living in a muslim country (no i cant speak arabic tho) i have friends who never listened this song so i played this song next to them when they heard the sound they didnt think it came from the song they thought it came from outside, from mosque. i believe thay have a reason for this delusion
amaaaaazing master-piece ......... btw, has anyone noticed that there's a sound of Quran being said in the background in the bass solo part ????? plz pay close attention.
@xShadowKRWolfx. Don't get me wrong, this is indeed a great tune/CD/band. Anathema and Moonspell were among my favorite bands back in 95, so the influence of Alma Mater on A dying Wish was rather clear back then.
i doesnt matter what they do: doom metal, rock, alternative, eternal... every thing they do is AMAZING. That's what makes them one of the best band ever.
it's been almost fifteen years, (i'm nearly thirtyone), and this song still haunting me............... the favorite song from my favorite band. i doubt that i'll be able to forget it, until i die....
I haven't heard this in about ten years. These guys had real confidence in their melodies. No shitty guitar solos or complex riffing to take you out of the mood. Way better than I remember.. I gotta dig up this album from the bottom of the darkest, dustiest pits of my CD collection.
Definitely their best piece. It's just monumental. It's just more than music , just more than lyrics... a rare example where you can recognize true inspiration and spirit in both music and lyrics for a great performance. Not just a song but a fantastic "romance"....
@EnricoB1978 i agree, that this is a really good song, but their best? no. crestfallen ep as well as serenades is way better IMHO. btw i think their best album ist pentecost iii. most people would disagree, but i think its their most emotional album. darren whites vocals are stunning. i think its the way he wanted to go with anathema and that he went with the blood divine. the silent enigma is a very good album, but it lacks the extremely charismatic vocals of darren.
@emophodze I love "Pentecost III", it's really , really amazing stuff. The entire album is a dreaming, mesmerizing, soul-touching masterpiece. Nevertheless I love "The silent enigma" the most. Why ? I can't really say... maybe it's the different sound. I would place "Pentecost III" soon after "The silent enigma" IMHO. "crestfallen" and "serenades" are too different for a comparison, It would be like to compare "Pentecost III" with "A natural disaster". Always IMHO.
