FF4 was a ground breaking game that paved the way for excellent games like Crisis Core.
I, personally, am an avid fan of the classic Final Fantasies. (1-6) However, 7 has a special place on that list as well, yet still technically outside the others. Crisis core is cool because it takes further with 7's storyline. Just like those of us who prefer the classics yearned for a continuation of such greats such as 4 and 6.
i agree on nothing beats the original but in this case were talking about something new final fantasy 4 is great but we already know the story its a good choice for people that haven't played the original but criss core shows something new and a good sequal to hte best rpg of all time ff7

FFVI doesn't need a remake as badly as FFIV does. I personally hope they remake V and VI as they are IV. Unless, of course, they manage to somehow make IVDS really bad, but I doubt that will happen.

FFXI is hardly a final fantasy game, it hardly has a plot. All the playstation 1 final fantasies were my favorites. Then they began to suck...People don't like Final Fantasy VII because it's different and diverged from the classic Final Fantasy set-up. FFVII was a groundbreaking game and the people who hate it just seem to hate change. Although you're probably different because you like FFXI which is as far from a classic Final Fantasy as you can get but in the worst possible way...

Square NEEDS to do a remake of the 5 and 6 TOO.I would like to see the 6 in a common video game,though,not a portable.Just imagine it in the wii,or ps3...or maybe ps4 and the next video game from nintendo.
But hopefully they remake them for the Wii rather than the DS. Its great being able to have a portable FF but I would prefer a console remake. On the Wii, the developers could make use of the wiimote and nunchuk. Imagine swinging the wiimote to slash with Cloud's sword or punching with the nunchuk to execute an attack by Sabin or something like that.
Well I don't think motion control to attack in turn-based RPGs will be necessary, but I wouldn't mind a FFVII remake for the Wii. Nintendo systems haven't gotten the main series since FFVI and it would be nice to follow it up with FFVII already.

Only one quarter of the storyline made into the final game. The DS version will feature an expanded storyline, with some aspects being cut, and many others added.

Final Fantasy III DS was a remake of Final Fantasy III for the Famicom. And this game is a remake, although now it's Final Fantasy IV from the Super Famicom.
AkioChild.... no FF game has been "remade" yet, FFIII was the first to get a 3d make over, and the PS versions of 1 and 2 where "remade" but the others are pretty much ports, with 3d cenima added.

This version of FF4 is going to be A LOT different. In the original SNES version of the game they only used 1/4 of the script. Now that they have the motivation, they are going to implement it back into the game. I for one, can't wait for it.

Only one quarter of the storyline made into the final game. The DS version will feature an expanded storyline, with some aspects being cut, and many others added.
I just hope that they dont ruin the great history im guessing that maybe its going to be mostly about Golbez damn im so exited

The logo in this version is Golbez =O while in the original the logo was Cecil and in FF III they kept the original logo and it was a remake.

It was. The Japanese version was the typical "Final Fantasy" Font with Kain holding his spear pointing downward. The US Version was a take of the Sword of Legend or the Crystal Sword.

AkioChild.... no FF game has been "remade" yet, FFIII was the first to get a 3d make over, and the PS versions of 1 and 2 where "remade" but the others are pretty much ports, with 3d cenima added.
SE has done FFIII and now FFIV in 3d, now they are going to do FFV and FFVI as well to DS later, I cant wait honestly

This version of FF4 is going to be A LOT different. In the original SNES version of the game they only used 1/4 of the script. Now that they have the motivation, they are going to implement it back into the game. I for one, can't wait for it.

lol i'm 16 and never played the 2d final fantasy games on the old systems but yet i got 4 and 6 for gba and find them really good. personally i think the old 2d retro games are better than a lot of the new over complicated stuff... but still square, you wanna make a 3d ff4(and hopefully 6 preferrably on wii or ps3)please do. i'd love you forever <3 <3 <3

just on the side note, i dont mean to post twice but limit on characters, square are probably making a good move redoing all their old games. no offense or anything but ff12 wasnt quite as good as what as i was expecting. not after that long wait anyway. 10-2 wasnt so great either and like the guy above me says, not many young people would buy a 2d game and on top of this fans would rush out to buy the updated 3d game anyways. square can't really lose
