The mono mix was done by George Martin and the Beatles. When they finished, they left for holiday and let George Martin do it himself and he rushed it. Absolutely nothing to do with the belt. The mono mix was the important one, and they messed up the stereo mix. I like it better personally, but only because I'm so used to it.
I was ll yrs old when the Beatles came to America. I cried when I saw them and wanted to run to England to marry paul. I lived the magic of Beatlemania. It was awesome beyond comprension. PLEASE go to my favs and click on ALL MY LOVING. these are 2 fellow "original Beatlemaniacs" from Brooklyn New York that I grew up with singing a tribute to our favorite guys. THE BEATLES MUSICAL MAGICAL GENIUS WILL LAST FOREVER!
my turntable is 20 years old and the belt is a bit worn. that being said i've recorded mp3s of the beatles, and the tempo is sped up a bit similiar as this recording. songs like i feel fine, she's a woman, i now prefer faster than remastered cds. can't beat the beatles!!!
@jokermanfl my favorite beatles song in mono is i dont know they are all amazing the radio should not play the stereo version unfortunately they probably not have heard of this
Sorry, folks, but I think the stereo version is MUCH better for conveying the sadness of this beautiful song. This version's tempo is too fast for the song's meaning.
this song hit straight to my heart when my baby left home to go and work in gran canaria.we still keep in touch by webcam though every day.thank god for the internet.
I always liked the mono mix of this one - this was in F, I believe, and the stereo mix was slowed down, so that it sounded in the key of E, but the lead vocal (Paul's) sounded 'draggy', like Lennon's in the 2nd half of Strawberry Fields Forever (the part that was slowed down).
