I only can see German crying people writing here. Spain is the best team in the world now, and they have won clearly Germany team two times in two years. I can read the same reactions here, than Real Madrid fans about FC Barcelona. Ozil and Khedira have a great problem against Xavi and Iniesta, this is the truth.

Spain deserved to win the WC, this is the common opinion in Germany. Still Germany had to overcome a lot of difficulties, many key players couldn't play, the team was very young, so we are still proud that our Mannschaft went to the Semifinals. Since the WC our team has improved, young players gained experience and new even younger players are included, so our trend definitively goes up, and that's why many Germans are very confident about the upcoming tournaments.

I disagree. Might be jealousy but I think Spain didnt deserve to win it all. They deservedly won against Germany, I have to admit that. But looking at their overall performance they could very well have gone out in the group stages already and were very lucky against Paraguay. I'm German and I do think that Spain was the better team generally and in the direct encounters of our countries. But judging from the passion throughout the cup I feel Germany would've deserved it more.

Die Spanier waren auch besser gegen die Schweiz und haben unglücklich verloren gegen ein Team was die ganze Zeit nur verteidigt hat. Und keines der Spiele die sie gewonnen haben war unverdient, am knappsten war es wohl noch gg Paraguay, da hast du Recht. Letztendlich muss man aber sagen, trotz der vielen Tore von Deutschland (was halt immer gut aussieht) war Spanien besser, denn die waren extrem gut defensiv und jedes Spiel kontrolliert.

I don't think many Germans would disagree with you about the fact that Spain is dominating at the moment. They're obviously the team to beat right now. Most germans have big hopes for the EC this year and brasil in 2014. We've been outclassed in 2008 but spain had just a slight edge 2010 in my opionen. Right now Germany has tons of hopeful talents yet to shine, as does Spain. it's going to be close in the next few tournaments.

@domdomdidom I agree with you. German national team is the biggest Spain rival, to win Eurocup. German national team play better everyday. Next Eurocup will be interesting. But the problem when Germany plays against Spain, is that Spain always controls the ball. Spanish midfielders (Xavi, Iniesta, Fabregas, Silva, Busquets, etc), don't allow great german players (Otzil, Muller, Swanstaiger) take the ball. We will see if Low can break Spanish midfiels sistem. And we will see Gotze against Spain.

@luisalbalateful Gotze will be an interesting one. Getting the ball from Gotze is very hard. As an Individual, he has the best ball control and passes in the national team right now. He basically walks the ball like a dog. He does not allow anybody take it. Any of his moves or passes, could lead to a good assist and a goal from one of the players. And Marco Reus is very fast. His shots are almost impossible to save. Muller never played against Spain though, it will be his first time.

@luisalbalateful Well, dude you have to look at it this way. Germany was crippled by 3 starting players getting injured right before the world cup. Another player killed himself. So they lost their number 1 goal keeper their number two goal keeper and their two best CDMs. Then Low put a new team together full of 20-22 year olds with a couple older players. Then they lose another key player for the key game who is Muller who is the player who got the golden boot. Also Spain had Torres in form.

Spain was lucky! They had easy teams to play with, Germany had to face England and Argentina-one of the favorites of 2010. Germany was winning one after one against such strong teams, Spain could barely win against Portugal... In semi-final Germany was already tired, plus they were missing Muller.. It was just unfair....

Germany espically this squad are the best,,,in 2002 they reached the final and lost to Brazil 2-0 and in 2006 they reached the semi-final and lost to Italy 2-0 and then won third place against portugal 3-1,,,and in euro 2008 they reached the final against Spain and lost 1-0 and in 2010 they reached the semi-finals and lost to spain 1-0 and won third place against Uruguay 3-2,,,Amazing team 2002 (2nd place) 2006(3rdplace) euro2008 (2nd Place),,2010(3rd place)

dont forget that this german team had been formed 2 weeks before world cup began!!! It was a another team after the injury of Ballack. But in the semi-final was Spain with more experience better after bad lucky games of Spain against Portugal and Paraguay. The suspension of Müller was also lucky for Spain. Trochowski, Podolski for example are too bad against Spain. 2012 Germany should have been better than Germany 2010 with Götze, Schürrle,... Spain will be also good!!!!

@SuperJuliusC spain played better then germany in the semi-finals, but if müller had been playing (even after missing a game due to the red card still scored the most goals in the tournament) I do not think spain would of had a chance. Spain plays so well because they a one team, just like the germans. When you take out part of the system, it does not work as well. I find the red card against müller very unfair in the game against argentina and personally as a german believe we should have won.
