All the fighters get rubbed down during their minute break. But not with grease or vaseline. They would not be able to do it right there in the action like in this video because the commition and officials are right there. When you grease its days before the fight, and when you sweat it comes out. A rematch would not settle this because you cant stop anyone from greasing. There is no law against this because there is nothing they can do to prevent it what so ever. This video is inaccurate.

BJ Penn accepted a challenge for a rematch from GSP after this all happened..(I read on his website) Is this fight actually going to take place? I really like both fighters (except BJ's pre/post fight smack talk) but honestly I think a re match will have the same end result. GSP dominated BJ...I know the vaseline may have made some difference...but BJ was still like a rag doll for the whole fight. I was really sad to watch it actually...

I am a GSP fan but I would agree that if he was greased it should be a no contest ruling. The problem is in the UFC all that's required if there's too much vaseline is to wipe it off with a towel. I don't think GSP or his corner technically did anything against the UFC rulebook though it doesn't really show great character. It's my opinion that GSP would have pulverized BJ either way (sweat alone in an MMA fight can make things too slippery) but it truly hurts his reputation this way.
