I get hecklers mostly in the US. i just tell them (joy of having an english accent) "My good man, im a comedian, my passion is to be witty and funny infront of large groups of people, your sitting in the dark yelling various heckles at me which eventually will come down to a battle of wits between you and I... now you can either be quiet and clam down OR i can make you look MORE of a fool than you already do in a venue that you PAID to get into and at the end of the night will pay me.."

Unfortunately, the people that come in there often don't rank much higher than pond scum. It's always a treat when you get to see a comedian destroy one of these people.
