  • Well Rodney, I'd say you had respect all along. RIP

  • Darrin Mcgavin was one hell of a sonofabitch actor hes my favorite actor out of all the actors in the universe RIP Mr. Mcgavin we'll miss you

  • Gene Wilder isn't dead. Just wanted to clear that up. There are countless talents, both men and women that made us laugh and that are no longer with us. I'm sure you couldn't fit them all in one video. Thank you for the tribute. They were all great choices. My only suggestion is to make one of the great comedic women as well. :)

  • Wheres Jackie Gleason!

  • You should put peter falk ryan dunn next

  • john candy jim varney john ritter they need to add leslie nelson

  • Could probably of included Gene Wilder, Bill Hicks and Max Baer!

  • All the greats had to go. Well Jim carrey is close but still. Rest in peace

  • So much great talent in this short clip....I loved them all....they made me laugh and forget about the daily grind....Rodney, you were the best...R.I.P.

  • I'm sorry but shremp was not as good as Curley

  • Since you had Rodney Dangerfield on here I was hoping to see Sam Kinison as well.

  • These great people did not make me laugh they made me crack up and buy every movie they are in! I am sorta glad they are not around because comedies now a days are not good and hollywood would have tried to ruin them with movies made by Will Ferrell or they could have kept comedy hilarious but Chris Farley's last film is not that good.

  • I know I've made this comment before, but I would still love to see Phil Hartman added to this

  • if only we could change these comedians to all the crap we have today.comedy would be much funnier then

  • @231johnjohnson I agree with you ...I love comedy.....today comedy is crap.

  • I think you might want to add a new name to your tribute, Greg Giraldo who passed away yesterday.

  • a beautiful tribute to those who touched in a way that brought us up and brighted our days in times of darkness. bravo to you all. wonderful post.

  • @Autumnsmile5 Thanks for the kind words!!

  • Good vid, let us not forget Sam Kinison who died tragically in a head on car wreck outside of Needles California. Sam was married to his long time girlfriend Malika and as fate would have it a week later Sam was dead. Laughter is the strongest emotional response, we never forget those people. RIP to you all.

  • I believe Rodney Dangerfield was my favorite comedian. I miss his stand-ups, and no matter what situation he was in, he could always make a joke out of it.

    Rodney you get one of these. \ \ | _\ | | _ | \ \

  • @soulreaper305 Figures -.-

  • Loved all those people, but there needs to be way more iconic people added. Jack Lemmon, George Carlin, Walter Matthou, Abbott and Costello and perhaps the most iconic Bob Hope

  • where's jack lemmon ?

  • @adiostraitorobama chevy chase is still alive...

  • yea great laurel and hardy i love those guys, just purchased the complete movie boxset. i'll treasure that. great vid thanks.

  • @madmomentsgo A very wise purchase. It's one of the best boxed sets out there. Hope you enjoy it!!

  • why the hell would 7 people dislike this???

  • I am trying to attach the response video and it's not working, movieman!

  • @RespirationAerobic Please try again! Your video is a must see!

  • @movieman4life i think you have to go to your inbox in the top-right corner and then go to "video responses" on the left side

  • All excellent and funny people, may they all rest in peace.

  • May All R.I.P. God Bless.

  • John Candy a true Canadian Comedic, i just hope all the comedics in this vid are making people laught in heaven

  • Rest in peace. My faves. Had a short life. John Candy Who was in cool running and Uncle Buck. Had a short life. Jim Varney who was known for Ernest P. Worrell. Had a short life. John Belushi for those rock and Rollin Blues Bros. And Those funny three men The three Stooges. It makes me so proud to be an American because of my idols. Love you guys forever. RIP.

  • rest in peace Jim Varney & Chris Farley you 2 always made people laugh

  • lovely tribute

  • Great video man. Didn't even know a few of those were dead (Chris Penn, Joe Viterelli, Darren McGavin). A Christmas Story will never be the same

  • great..but no women here..someone do this with gilda..madeline kahn..lucille ball..etc,etc..

  • You brought tender moments from all our lifes... thank you!

  • Although I was to young to enjoy any John Candy movie, seeing as he past when i was only 5, he was alive he remains one of my favorite actors of all time may he and all the others RIP

  • Man, watching this video made me realize just how many people I grew up watching are no longer with us, I miss them all dearly. I hope wherever they are, they are making someone laugh.

  • 1949.

  • no he was born in 1949

  • I remember John Candy and loved watching him in Cool Runnings. I didn't know that he had died. May he R.I.P.

  • such a loss for them all but my best has to be John Candy a great actor and such a shame

  • i didnt know john candy died.. what was the cause of death? does anybody know?

  • John Candy died of a heart attack (he had end stage heart disease). Such a huge loss. He was the owner of the Toronto Argonauts and I remember going to work and everyone was talking about it.

    He was an amazing actor.

  • heart attack, he died before making his last fim think he was trying toi loose weight.

  • Heart attack... from beign a big guy... he died on the day i was born : /

  • I had no idea Bruno Kirby was dead. A great underrated, underexposed talent he was.

  • nice tribute they wer very funny! R.I.P. u did your job and made us all laugh.

  • i wish they were still around sad tho...

  • Some of my all-time favorites...nice tribute

  • Doctors go to school for years to learn how to make people feel better.

    These guys did it naturally.

R.I.P. fellas, what you did in life will echo an eternity.

  • As Rodney Dangerfield would say... What A Crowd!

  • dang most of the actors on here i didn't know were dead. :( hope to see um in heaven.

  • joe viterelly was one funny guy

    R.I.P

  • Wow, I had no idea some of these guys passed away? Great talents though, and I have to give you major props for using Thomas Newman's score because that's one of my favorite scores and composers.

  • i never knew peter boyle jim varney or joe viteralli died Holy shit.....All Funny Guys.

  • i never knew peter boyle died :) :(............

  • I think God remembers how much we help others in our own unique way. These great people helped bring happiness to a very difficult world and I think there's a special place in heaven for those who made us laugh.

Rest in Peace, you've earned it.

    :)

  • What a great tribute. Yes, everyone in it really made me laugh. Such talented people!

  • Amen to that one!

  • This brought a tear to my eye, I grew up with these guys.

  • They all were great i love their movie they will be miss may they all rip

  • Don't forget marty feldman to

  • Does anyone know who composed this music? It's beautiful.

  • Thomas Newman for the movie "Shawshank Redemption." It's my favorite movie.

  • Thank you so much chantalalexander!!! I thought I had heard this music before and have seen Shawshank Redemption several times. It IS a good movie.

  • This was SO good. A reminder to live for today. Thanks for sharing.

  • What's so sad to think about is some of these deaths occurred relatively early (i.e. Chris Farley and Chris Penn).

  • Lovely. Well done man...brings back the memories!

  • Very nice movie, but they you missed out: Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau.

  • John Candy will be my favorite forever, his best lines for me were,

JC "Hey , are you o.k do you have money, do you need money"?

Tom Hanks " No I'm alright I have plenty of money".

JC " Oh ...o.k ....well can I have some then"?

Scenario ; JC driving down the wrong side of the motorway.

    Guy in other car,

"Hey man your'e going the wrong way".

JC " Yeah o'k thank you...this guy must be drunk.

JC He says we're going the wrong way...

,,,,,,he doesn't even know where we're going".

  • excellent thx

  • Umm.... Abbott and Costello? Lucile Ball? The Marx Brothers? you should do another one with more recent ones, like Bernie Mac and George Carlin. Still, good job.

  • Don't forget Bernie Mac

  • All great entertainers......cant forget George Burns and San Kinison.....RIP

  • You should update this with George Carlin. He was a comic genius.

  • I'd rather Phil Hartman

  • Hell yeah!!! george was amazing I thought he was a brilliantly funny conedian and actor

    RIP georgie

  • NIcely done. when an entertainer dies our world gets a little sadder but heaven gets a lot funner.

  • nicely put

  • Viterelli, Kirby and Penn were alittle weak compared to the others. No Marx Bros? Lucy?

  • they were all great entertainers. i really liked this video, excellent work.

  • John Belushi, John Candy, two tremendous comedians and losses.

There is something different that you feel when you lose a comedian. I guess it's because with comedy the world seems much easier to endure.

These people chose a career to make our lives happier, pretty classy and selfless!

  • they wuz on the blues brothers

  • Don't forget Shemp Howard/Samuel Horwitz(1895-1955).

  • great vid....thanks for the memories.

  • Sorry i was drunk thay r all legends (RIP)

  • All Legengs (rip)

  • A beautiful tribute. Thank you.

  • you couldn't have chosen a better song for this!

  • darren mcgavin and rodney dangerfeild they lived long and resptectfull lives but to others like chris farly john belushi jim varney and to many others there lives were takin way to soon

  • Seriously, people don't understand just how different his stand-up routine is from the family friendly crap he did in the late 80's and early 90's.

  • Good list but where's Carroll O'Connor aka Archie Bunker

  • Jim Varney aka Ernest P. Worrell is Legendary!!! He was the best!!! Rest In Peace buddy!

  • no phil hartman??

  • Just like it was said: There is no justice in this universe. Richard Pryor's Dead. George Carlin's Dead. Meanwhile, Bob Sagat and Jerry Seinfeld are still alive.

  • Excellent video! They all deserve it!

  • Heaven is gunna be funny with Larry,Curly,Moe, and Shemp up there

  • i don't think they are in heaven because

according to the bible, everybody that died

has gone to hell except for little children and those who accepted christ as they're saviour.

  • We ALL miss u Ernsest

  • Heaven is going to be the funniest place, when we all go up their.

  • Holy depressing music. March of the Wooden Soldiers is one of my favorite movies.

  • "Depressing" music?

  • Well, they aren't "the two biggest guys" but I do agree that they should be on this list.

  • This was an awsome tribute I did not know that chris penn has gone!

  • I didn't even know Jim Varney was dead. I used to love the Ernest films. A few top names here especially my heroes Laurel and Hardy.

  • At least some show the date whrn they died

  • Peter Sellers didn't make the list eh? What a shame.

  • JOHM BELLUSHI FOREVER

  • Chris Farley was the best

  • i miss jim varney the most

  • Phil Hartman of SNL would be someone to add

  • This video could go on and on...there's sooo many still missing:

Luis Defuines, Dean Martin, Danny Kaye,

Charly Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Harold lloyd, etc.

  • Touching. God bless them all.

  • "Your work will always be remembered" - You do not lie.

  • wow awesome video

  • Thanks, glad that you liked it. Yes, the music plays during the end credits of "The Shawshank Redemption".

  • Thanks for this. What an elegant tribute.

  • Thank-you

  • Very classy video. Chris Penn. Is he Sean Penn's brother? I loved a Christmas Story. My sister in law was in the band that was in the parade. The band was from Revere High School.

  • This is absolutely BRILLIANT!! I wish i can give you 10 out of 5 stars...but youtube doesn't go that high lol

  • Very well done.

  • I didn't even know that Joe Viterelli had died until just now. I had clicked on this b/c I saw that you included Jim Varney (Ernest), and I grew up watching everyone you put on this memorial, but I can't tell you how much I loved seeing Three Stooges and Laurel and Hardy. I'm an actor and I base a lot of my work on both comedy teams. Staples of my childhood, idols for my entire life.

  • I just found out that Joe Viterelli had died in 2004 oh my god what a shock he was so good in Analyze This, Analyze That and Shallow Hal he was a great and funny guy I loved him :( RIP Joe you was the best [xxx]
