  • I really don't see too much unforgiveably wrong with this except, PLEASE Do not hold the needle while you fiddle with the tape. You're going to pop the cap off.

  • Her tube inversions looked really fast...then again that might be because she was videotaped.

  • I have reviewed some of my textbooks and haven't found mention of avoiding fanning. Usually it is not necessary but in this case, we were in a hurry to wrap up the draw. I do have a concern about tape. Many phlebs place it across their gloves or lab coat sleeve - a definite no-no. The coat is a fomite that is loaded with lovely germs waiting to find a home. The gloves may have less germs but you can transfer latex proteins (if using latex gloves) or nitrile molecules directly onto the patient.

  • I was also told to not fan the sight dry. And I didn't think you should put a piece of tape on the table like that. Other than that, great technique.

  • i have a question i dont want to be that guy ...but. arent you suppsed to saftey the needle on the tabe not with your hands and i was tgld when u dry the area in that way it is contaminated and you have to re-wipe  i dont know how soft your hands were but that looked preety rough thanx for the video it was awesome

  • Very precise and fluid movements...thats my goal :). I am currently in an Advanced Phlebotomy course and I start my externship next week!
