I really don't see too much unforgiveably wrong with this except, PLEASE Do not hold the needle while you fiddle with the tape. You're going to pop the cap off.
I have reviewed some of my textbooks and haven't found mention of avoiding fanning. Usually it is not necessary but in this case, we were in a hurry to wrap up the draw. I do have a concern about tape. Many phlebs place it across their gloves or lab coat sleeve - a definite no-no. The coat is a fomite that is loaded with lovely germs waiting to find a home. The gloves may have less germs but you can transfer latex proteins (if using latex gloves) or nitrile molecules directly onto the patient.
i have a question i dont want to be that guy ...but. arent you suppsed to saftey the needle on the tabe not with your hands and i was tgld when u dry the area in that way it is contaminated and you have to re-wipe i dont know how soft your hands were but that looked preety rough thanx for the video it was awesome

Her tube inversions looked really fast...then again that might be because she was videotaped.

@BetterBloodDraws It's only sterile until you touch it or it touches something else ;)

I was also told to not fan the sight dry. And I didn't think you should put a piece of tape on the table like that. Other than that, great technique.
