  • Best Soundtrack 2011

  • I feel as if i want to fly with a dragon. enough said.

  • Toothless, the cutest dragon and the coolest

  • thumbs up if u love Toothless aka Night Fury

  • Good

  • Its so epic, it reminds me of a Scottish battle song in a war movie :))

  • the part starting at 0:40 is immaculate, every time I hear it I get chills, like I am actually soaring in the clouds with hiccup and toothless!

  • the sun went behind a cloud right at 1:22, and then came back just before 1:58 O.o

  • this sound track gives me goose bumps every time i hear it

  • Anyways, todays, I watch How to train your Dragon movie every day, and I love it

  • god that gives me goosebumps EFT!! The moment they started the dive. . .the awesomeness starts!!

  • the music for this film makes it so good!

  • I do not like the end of the music but I looove this movie!!

  • @MaanonBouchaard yeah :D i don't like end of this music either, it should never end :D

  • This makes me feel so powerful. My friends ask me why I like watching 'kids' movies and listen to soundtracks. It takes the stress out of the day, and plus, the music is beyond amazing.

  • As I got older, I didn't grow out of animated movies.... I grew into them...

  • this soundtrack encourages me

  • awesomee soundtrack!!!!! i bought this movie i watched it million times

  • awesome!!

  • hats off to john powell this soundtrack rocks

  • Guys it doesn't matter if it's an animated movie or not the music is still stirring and fantastic.

  • This film was bought for my 6 year old brother.

    >.> I swear, I don't think he's even noticed i've watched it practically every weekend for the last year...

  • My favourite movie! It's not a kids movie damnit, everybody i know who's seen this loves it! <3

  • the books are equally incredible, though more for kids. hilarious and smart.

  • I love this music.

  • Yeah, listening to this music makes me so happy, and I guess "adrenaline" might be the right word for the feeling. My only problem with this soundtrack is that I can't listen to it while doing homework, cleaning, or falling asleep, because I get to into it and excited. The movie's really something too. And the books.

  • This movie is a perfect example of how movies can be great in their own right without being compared to the book they're based on. I was a big fan of the books. It's about as far from the book as possible, the plot and most of the characters don't at all resemble their book counterparts, but I still adored this movie, in some ways more than the books. It had beautiful animation and music. It proved that Dreamworks is capable of holding a torch to Pixar (although they usually don't take advantage

  • @krakkenchaos

    Woah. this was a book?

Never heard of them till now.

  • @WorldWalker128 Yeah, it was a series of books. I really enjoyed them, but if you're interested don't start reading them expecting them to be like the movie. The books were more like a fantasy take on Diary of a Wimpy Kid, but funnier. Toothless wasn't a night fury, he was a small common dragon, he was small enough to fit in Hiccup's helmet, and he spoke English. Astrid wasn't in the books at all. Vikings didn't traditionally kill dragons, Stoick actually ordered the kids to train dragons.

  • shouldve called this song "in flight"

  • i want to watch toothless mate

  • @MayurUPatel . . . your creepy. . .

  • I always loved Films... I loved Music... I loved Flying... I loved Dragons... And today I LOVE THIS FILM!!! It's my favorite animation! Ex'aequo is ,,The Lion King", ,,Pocahontas", ,,Beauty And The Beast". Hans Zimmer, John Powell and Alan Menken - these guys are amazing when it comes to film scores!

  • @specodhec341 Hans Zimmer is music dude he has nothing to do with the movie itself

  • Rinse and repeat.

  • How many of you want to fly when you hear this?

  • thnx for uploading this awesome soundtrack, bitch......

  • @Sushantgupta12

    You're welcome......

  • @Yoshi66666666 why does the uploader get all the thumbs up?

  • @ericdisney1

    Because I'm awesome.

  • @Sushantgupta12 you say thanks for uploading this is awesome but then you call him b bitch

  • @Sushantgupta12 Bitch? LOL

  • @Sushantgupta12 thx for uploading this very strange comment and making my day, bitch....

  • @MrEliiz that was so damn predictable....anyways I have nothing against uploader BTW.... that was just a funny gesture....

  • @Sushantgupta12 lol, comment win, bitch....

  • Flawless!! Absolutely crazy flawless! Powell is brilliant. The bag pipes, the drums, the strings -- it's absolutely flawless.

  • Disney's marketing department has succeeded. Now, whenever anyone makes an animated feature film with a straightforward plot, everyone just assumes it's Disney.

  • @Grebnedlog55 Naw, How to Train Your Dragon is more like a Pixar movie (which I know is Disney but I consider it separate). I swear when I watched this in cinema for the first time, I'd known it was a dreamworks film, but after awhile I started wondering if it was actually pixar. This is a complement, it's THAT good

  • Someday, I will have a night fury. I swear it.

  • @emeraldpal im 18 and love disney films. Theres no shame in not growing up XD

  • ppl we all know there is nothing wrong with watching these so-called 'kids' movies, so stop teling us your age. I just assume everyone is between 15 - 27.

  • @00ammy00 14 here... I love HTTYD and Megamind... The newer ones are so.... OMG... Still love the classics though. ;)

  • I've watched this movie so many times I'm kinda able to recite it. I love the animation, art, storyline, but especially the soundtrack.

  • When I went to see the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo they played this song and I nearly lost my shit.

  • @SimpleMan2590

    Indeed.

  • i want a dragon!! :(

  • i saw this in the film then i heard it in tatoo in scotland whihc made me want to listen to it again brilliant! :D

  • I LOOOOVE THIS MOVIE!!!!

and the soundtrack was amazing as well...:D

  • One of the best movie soundtracks ever... There is no explaining the emotion behind the composition. John Powell is truly amazing!

  • thanks a lot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • c̟̻͖̭̠̎͌͆ͩ̈̾̎̚h̹̥̟̩̫͎͔͎̺̀̏̿̒́ḙ̩͚̺̤̜͚̈̍̆̐̂͘͝e̴͚ͦ͗̋̐ͮͥͩ̀s̛͇̒͋͛̓̊̅̂̆e̹̦̰͎̲͙͌̾͡

  • this is the BEST! every day and every time...forever! :)

  • -3 I LOVE THIS MOVIE! 16 years old and still watch Disney Movies. Imma cool kid. Haha :) But I love this soundtrack, gets my adrenaline going

  • @emeraldopal

    *facepalm*

    This is DreamWorks, not Disney.

I hate when people say that animated movies are for kids. They are for everyone. It doesn't matter how old you are.

  • @Yoshi66666666 I know, I hate that as well! I just took my mum's boyfriend to see The Lion King in 3D, which is not only my favourite Disney film but my favourite film period. Weeks before he saw it, he kept complaining about he doesn't like Disney (he had never seen any Disney films before in his life) and that it was for little kids. But he ended up liking the movie! He didn't love it, but at least he liked some parts!

  • @Yoshi66666666 SOOOOO TRUE :)

  • @Yoshi66666666 I absolutely agree.. i absolutely hated when i watched How to train your Dragon for the first time and everyone kept saying me, it's for children, and that i should watch anything else

  • @Yoshi66666666 Hear hear - I'm 24, just watched the movie and I nearly cried at times. Very moving flick, even if cliched ;) Powell's soundtrack plays a big part in this. Thanks for uploading this.

  • @Yoshi66666666 I don't think I'll EVER stop watching animated movies. I'll be like eighty years old and all "Where's my Spirited Away DVD?" or, you know, whatever movie-watching technology is like when I'm 80. I'm 32 now and just saw this for the first time--got the DVD for Christmas--and absolutely loved it. I immediately regretted not seeing it in theaters.

  • @Yoshi66666666 So True.

  • @Yoshi66666666 Hear, hear. Let people laugh, they just have bad tastes in movies :D

  • @Yoshi66666666 My dad and my brother gladly goes to the movies to watch animated movies, like tangled.. xD OH, and thx for uploading this. :3

  • @emeraldopal

dont worry mate. im 24 and still watch disney! there is no age limit for great movies to watch!! lol

  • @emeraldopal I am 28 and I still watch Disney & Cartoon Network!

  • @emeraldopal im 18 and love the moive dude animated movies are for not just for kids. they are for everyone

  • @emeraldopal I agree except that this isnt disney. Alot of people think dreamworks is a part of disney but its not. Theyre completely different.

  • @emeraldopal 18 years old and a dude. XD

  • What instrument is used in this soundtrack?

  • @bigblurtoad The bagpipe I believe :)

  • TEARS MOTHEREFFERS, TEARS

  • Comment removed

  • They should have added aliitle more bag pipes to this. But again, I've always liked the sound of bag pipes. The trumpets in the end should be a bit louder to give it the big ending and for dramatic effect. Beautiful piece of music otherwise

  • i am an 18 year old college baseball player and I freaken love this movie.....all my teammates laugh at me but dang i love this song and masterpiece of a movie!!!!!!!

  • @slim91292

  • @wateralchemist94

If I read right on Wiki (for some, that is a big NO) there will also be a Third and (Oh God, I hope this is true) a mini series on CN

  • 5 people live under a rock, apparently.

  • I never tire of this track. I love it! So beautiful! Makes you fall in love with the dragon yourself. Amazing film! x

  • 5 people fell off thier dragon and didn't get back on

  • you know i don't care how old you are this movie rocks...I'm 19 and i have seen this movie like...5 times...i know a piece of art when i see it..and this movie is truly a piece of art.

  • This was 3 billion times better than Toy Story 3!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @LetsPlay1707 3 billon times? I would say 5 times better.

  • SOOOOOO beautfiul!!!!!! *****!!!!!!

  • I can't believe that the Social Network won the award for music. Though I love that movie and the music, it's not nearly as good as any of these songs

  • What program did you use to create the picture?

  • @GuitarXreality

    GIMP

  • I love this movie and the Soundtrack...It's just Amazing!

  • i thougt this was the movie theme song.

  • @moozle700 it doesnt matter anything pixar makes wins all the awards

  • okay. imagine one of the musicians sneezes in the middle of the song!

  • I always thought the original shrek was my favourite dreamwork movie, but I watched this today on Sky Anytime and it just shat all over the poor green bugger!

  • I get goose bumps when the crescendo peaks at 1:53

  • do you ever forget how many 6's are in your username? ;3

  • @FlyingZamora

    Haha no. ;P

  • I love you all! You can do no wrong in my eyes!

  • 4 People dislike this? I guess they need to learn how to train there imagination :)

  • When this song started playing in the background of what was happening on screen, I was left numb with tears rolling down my eyes from pure inspiration and joy. Films like this give me hope that original ideas can still be produced into great movies.

  • 2:02 is the best part :') I can see them flying..

  • The Best way you can show John Powell you like this score is to buy it on iTunes. It's only $0.99. Worth every penny.

  • The music in this movie always gives me chills every time I hear it. Excellent movie!!

  • I watched this movie today and all I can say is, Dreamworks has created another CG masterpiece. The story, characters, writing, animation, and the music were just unbelievable. This film kicked ass, it was entertaining, fun, and a joy to look at. For some reason, I can't help but think about Pixar and Dreamworks. I really can't say who is better, but one to say is that we are living in the golden age of CG animation.

  • best song in the soundtrack in my opinion, so epic

  • @bboykenex Either that or forbidden friendship, they both give me the shivers.

  • thats right pacman5698, but a can

  • My favorite part of this song is from 0:40 - 0:50 and from 2:01 - 2:11. I just love how that sounds

  • 4 people can't train a night fury.

  • love this piece~

  • i like the picture! beautiful! toothless looks a lot like the original picture! well done!

  • @peterspower

  • 2:01 is my favorite part!!!!! :D

  • I watched it 7 times and it's still awesome... i just love it :D I want to watch how to train your dragon 2 already, but it will come out 2013 T^T I only hope to be as good as the first movie :D

  • this is amazing! at my school, all the different bands were combined and we played this! it was so epic and i got goosebumps!

  • @TheMetalheadGamer1st Booooo I hate you!!!!! I wish we could play it lol. I don't really hate you Im just jealous :)

  • @Tpeta haha, hey, do you have band at your school?

  • I liked this movie more than the book. Thats rare

  • @thenightmare485

Even rarer when the author signs off on such a radical adaptation and loves the finished project. A win for all cinema buffs, music buffs, and lovers of a genuinely great tale.

  • Im part viking in real life and hearing this music is just awesome!

  • I CANNOT believe how good this movie was. I did not think it was going to be more than ordinary but it totally blew my mind!

  • @pennedquiet Indeed!
