I'm a cajun from Houma(Bayou Blue), Louisiana. I have never heard of anybody using a onion to get the smell of crawfish off there hands. but salt works great. Poor some soap on your hands then rub them together with salt, work wonders.

man our boil was so good. had 3 bags of crawfish, 2 crates of crabs, and about a normal ice chest of shrimp. and we boiled constantly from 2-5 with 2 burners goin constantly. and we kept eatin them crawfish till about 10 at night. and the longer they stayed in that warm ice chest cooking the better they tasted.

Some schools actualy let some kids of because of the LSU SUper bowls, lol. Hurricane season is not fun at all. katrina was scary. so was gustov. BTW thats the cajuns that like that kind of music, i like rock, techno, and rap.

I am from South east LA also a lot of this isn't bullshit. We don't think we have an accent until we go anywhere north and then tell me if we don't have one. Just because you hate crawfish doesn't mean it's not a part of down here. Trust me, I know first hand that hurricanes are not fun, I never said they were. And you can go anywhere and listen to rock, techno and rap, but only in the south can you hear this kind of music and actually enjoy it, it's called Cajun Music for a reason.

i think swamp pop is mainly played only in south louisiana. or you can go to franklin i think and listen to some good ol french music. i can't remember the correct genre name for it but it's all french that screams louisiana.

@heather112103 I agree. I live in Northeast Louisiana and it is daylight from dark when you go south of Alexandria. Up here we do not have cajun or zydeco bands. The northern part of this state is no different than Mississippi , Alabama, and Texas. South Louisiana has the unique culture and music like no other place in the United States.
