@spitzer72 Part 2: the churches separated after the Schism. I do not know what Catholics are taught, but we Orthodox take the Pope excommunicating one of his fellow Godsent people heresy, and the separation of Catholicism from Christianity a heresy as well.

Also, look at the churches layout. There's almost no look-alike between them. Orthodox aren't encouraged to pray to God in Catholic churches.

@spitzer72 Actually, our Orthodox priests and Religion teachers (we only study the Orthodox religion) mention the unity of the orthodox church no matter of borders and call the event of 1054 'The Catholic Heresy'. Also note that both Churches used Christian in their full names, but Catholic prayers have some words modified. Just that they're key words. Also, Orthodox people deny the pope as their religious leader. Hm. We were once united, but now it's almost like a Christian-Muslim relationship.

Hosanna is what the people of jerusalem shouted alongside 'Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord' and it basically is something like 'We pray for your help' or so, but can also be used to acknowledge Jesus as the True Son of God.

It's all basic orthodoxy/christianity stuff.
