there are certain sweet spots to any f/i. as we all saw. if it aint at full boost it gets left behind. but if it is, then it will be hella fast. from a dig, that t/a had it like a mofo. and thats why i love my cammed/4.11 ss, its just rediculous.
i prefer pushrod's and a solid axle (obviously) for a strip car, but i have to give credit to ford for the 03-04 cobra. the whole drivetrain is top notch. the stock shortblock is damn near bulletproof, and who doesn't like the t-56, even with the cheesey 10-spline input shaft? the rear also holds up really well, and a $75 pulley and programmer will hook you up with another 100hp over stock. that's hard to beat...

Nice cars, don't know why everyone underestimates the f body. Same motor as the corvette and half of the time even make more power then the corvettes but weigh 300-400 lbs more. I can think of alot of stuff to do with that $15,000 i just saved by purchasing the f body over the vette

Not entirely true...I love both the 'stangs and the f-bodies. They are both bad ass cars. I could go either way. Though it is true that z28s and ta's have almost always had the upper hand over mustang gts, stockwise. American muscle all the way!
Ford obviously has the capability to produce a larger engine and jack up the price on the Mustangs, but choose not to. Its more cost effective and efficient to "bolt on a SC". However, Ford leaves open the door to very cheap and easy modding. I mean shit, they could've VERY EASILY and cheaply made the 03 Cobra come stock with a smaller pulley and K&N filter and made it 420+RWHP stock to be able to put buslengths on most GM cars, but theres laws and MPG ratings they need to maintain.

i have a 96 cobra with cold air 4.10 gears a ram cluch magnaflow x-pipe borla s-type mufflers and a pro 5.0 shifter..with those few mods no trans am never ran away from me..so to the guy with the 01 cobra that was getting spanked..learn to drive..the guy with the 03 cobra in this video can't drive..don't talk smack about the car if the driver sucks
Wow, I don't know who was driving the Cobra, but they need to learn how to launch a car. You can't see the exact time, but you can see in the video that the Cobra's 60-foot time was over two seconds. I used to have a '94 Ford Probe with only exhaust and over 200,000 miles on it that would run a 2.32 60-foot. And that's TERRIBLE!! The T/A on the other hand ran a 1.39.
Trans am's rule. It's sad that a 395hp(stock) cobra is getting beat by a 320hp trans am. Even though they're both modified the cobra has SUCH a headstart on power. I guess that why I sold my 01 cobra(though it wasn't supercharged) and bought a trans am. even with a y-pipe, tune, pulleys, cold air, catback and throttle body i was still getting beat by lightly modded trans am's.
Trans Ams and Camaros are amazing dude, I personally dont like Mustangs because my dad hates them... But the Trans Am's and Camaros are rated to run at a 13.4-13.5 but I've been to a track with stock 2002 Trans Am WS6's and 2002 Z28's and SS's they run under 13 if you can drive. I think that they might have rated them that low due to the Corvette being slower in those years. So watch out for them lol

You'd probably blow his doors off... They say that the worst part about the stock Trans Am's and Camaro's is the exhaust they come with. They say it's a very restrictive exhaust, so if you can get that baby to breath easier you'd most likely beat him.

Dude the GT is a SOHC(Single over-head cam) V8, the Cobra is a SC'd DOHC(dual over-head cam) V8. Use common sense here dude. The Trans am has straight-up track tires on the back...the mustang has DR's. The cobra has 3:27's the Trans am has 3:73's. and as far as stock goes the pontiac makes 325 and 350 with ForcedInduction the cobra makes 390 and 400

it did like a 4000lb 500 hp car. its ok cause a pulley swap and a tune would icrease by 110 hp easy so then 600hp+ and be happy

yeah, the Y-pipe is crimped to about half it's diameter. you can see it if you look ahead of the crossmember on a stock LS1
