no they dont give you one, but they have 5 editing suites which are small dark quite rooms to edit in. So you always have the stuff accessible. You dont neeeed a mac if you dont have one, but it is really helpful.
gaaaaaaah. I just got a laptop for the sole purpose of needing one if I make it into Interlochen and decided against a mac. For what reason, I don't know. Must've been hittin' the bleach too hard.
Just wondering about the darker outsides (vignette right?) Are they mostly from the way you shot (as explained side effect in your 35mm adapter) or edited in?
I just love it....man i just can't wait to build a 35mm adaptor for my cam so i can start playing arrownd. Thanks...i never thought of building one...and to buy one is too much for me. I tell you one thing...i use at my job....expencive cameras...but don't get this amezing image. Good job...keep it up. You're amezing.
That's what I thought at first, but looking at it again it's more then that. There's no still shots at all, the pans are smoother, the editing is better, and the play with the focus is really spot on.
I filmed the footage in 24p 16:9 squeeze... so in other words it was filmed already in the same aspect ratio as HD
when i imported the footage i didnt do anything fancy. But in the timeline settings i set the video settings as HD 1280x720 30p and when i did this, my video didnt fit the frame. So i stretched it out in order to fit the whole frame.
then i exported it in MOV. as a h.264 codec running at 29.97 with the sequence settings for the frame, which was 1280x720
wow i never knew that was a possible conversion. great job. is it time consuming to do that? i probably would have gone with an SD camera if it wasnt that big of a hassle
normally i just upload mine in 640x480, but i'm starting to use the 1280x720 dimensions. i just can't get my file size at 1 megabyte or less... by the way steve, forgot to say, the books are the shit haha. i'm using tokyo in my next project
ya the books are awesome, and ya, it doesnt take long to do. Really its just a standard setting for my final cut now, so i dont have to do anything really. I set it up once, now it will continue to export in HD.
thanks, ya that would take me years to get 50 grand haha, but now its gonna suck going back to my crappy home made gear : ( Maybe i should get my youtube subscribers to start a "steve fund for new lenses" haha that would be great
haha, would only take probably 200 from everyone, but whatever... and i'd k ill to have your homemade adapters haha, i'm still researching parts i need to make one, but i'm still getting used to adapter/ lens speak haha
haha ya, at least a brevis / letus / redrock would be nice. that would be like $2 each person. haha but i doubt that would ever happen.
Anyway, as for the adapter stuff, im working on a video right now, its a tutorial with links and a full explanation on how to make a vibrating 35mm adapter, so look for that in the next couple of days

What editing system do they give you to use at Interlochen?
kylielovescole 2 years ago
Final Cut Pro Studio 2. With 30 inch HD displays hooked up to a G5. But i edit on my own computer. (Mac Book pro) with final cut pro
skategriggs 2 years ago
So, do they give you mac computers to work with if you've only got a PC?
