@Blunic - Actually, you'd be right on the mark for either one...and the fallout was swift, since both Smith and Sayer (the superintended) both stepped down from their positions, although Sayer continues to hold the position on an interim basis while a replacement is found.

September of 2011 will mark the 28th anniversary of one of my best friends death. He was bullied at school and at home. the September after graduation from high school he shot himself. I will leave you with these words.

Looks like justice is finally coming...a judge ruled that Sayer's pay raise (approved in secret, as was his contract extension) was a violation of the "open meeting law", and it's been invalidated. @DroidNoid In my experience, most things can be solved by writing letters. By having stand up arguments like shown here, everyone takes entrenched positions. We call it "covering your backside" here. Often the parents making all the noise are not the relatives, but just attention seekers. It is always more effective to solve problems by logic rather than emotion. When I said "move on" I meant to leave the past in the past, and to ensure that future cases do not happen.

Where in the hell are the parents in this shit? Don’t put up with school call the cops. The school is required to report child abuse to the cops. The school administer should be charged. Arm your kid with spy cameras to protect him self and use as proof for the cops then it is not s/he said s/he said.

People have to move on. What must happen is that people complain about bullying in the future. A mistake hs been made here. It is impossible to sort things if people are arguing. The best way forwad is written complaints. The school can then act on them in confidence. They will probably expel the bullies and call in the police if required. Whether someone commits suicide or not, it is equally as serious. Saying "bullying is a fact of life" is not on. That person should have been suspended.

Parents and teachers need to understand a life is important, a Child committed suicide because of bullying and no one cares. If this was their child, they would have said something too instead of insulting it. The modern world today is ignoring the fact of bullying which is causing an uprise in suicides. I have a friend who was in a similar unfortunate situation as Phoebe Prince, she was raped by a Senior--he did not suffer any criminal charges for God's sakes.

@fthis12345 Also a good chunk of the school interpreted her situation with the senior in such a twisted and disgusting way. Most student who knew her personally and who haven't had such skewed and misinformed opinions of the tragic circumstance. They thought my friend was willing to take part of this act committed by this man. Before that, bullies often harassed her because of sexual orientation and such--she has panic/anxiety attacks, formerly and regularly slashed herself, etc..

Though I agree with you on one thing, suicides should not happen...but they do, much like bullying. Hopefully the both of us can do our part when we view such disgusting behavior, we shouldn't tolerate uncivilized and grotesque behavior and make the "victims" know they aren't alone.
