@fishfan67 I think you have Tee mixed up with Larry Levan. Tee was a master on the decks. The first to use 3 turntables, and originator with sound effects and out of genre music, the only DJ I ever saw mix from a cassette as well as turntables.
Larry was more showman than DJ, very inconsistent.
Tee was no saint, but he wasn't really a druggy either. One should be careful what one says.
Tee scott mixed alot of good stuff back in the day. to bad he couldn't spin that great. saw him live many times he must have been too high. but he use to rock this nice piece that he did the mix on..Great cut.

@mswildi about this "druggy" thing ...you try standing and spinning over 12 hrs for thousands every weekend and do remixes in the studio and have a personal life on coffee...that was the nature of the business...Peace & Love
@fishfan67 Tee Scott was an excellent DJ...Perhaps he just wasn't your type..but in those days in NY we had so many great ones to choose from...David Mancuso..never used headphones but never missed a beat from one cut to another...you could go out 7 day a week to different clubs and hear the best of the best...Don't put the brother down unless you can do better...Peace & Love

@mswildi wow, did you know that Tee & Larry were great friends not enemies Tee was great but so was Larry and others..if tee was the only DJ you saw using cassettes then you ain't go out alot or the Booth was not on the dance floor, we used anything with pitch control back then including reel to reel....sometimes Boyd Jarvis wud come with a cassette of a new track would you say no to him...larry cud work a crowd..he wasn't for everyone. But he was a master at workin that system...Peace & Love
@TheRhythmAlchemist Yes I know Tee and Larry were friends. Did YOU know that Larry went on vacation with us a few times back in the day? You're right, I didn't hit all the DJ booths but of the ones I did hit (some very nicely appointed) I'd have to say that the BD was the only one wired by the DJ. Others may have mixed from cassettes, but trust when I was they came AFTER Tee. A lot of people claiming to be originators of this or that today are lying, simply put. How do I know?
@mswildi No disagreements at all...I was very good friends with Tee's Nephew Todd back in the day...I have nothing but respect for Tee...He put Larry On....I am glad at that time we had so many great DJ's with their own style of letting spirit flow thru them...My favorites were Tee, Larry and David Mancuso....the things they did were beyond amazing...I am Grateful for what they have brought to the table...many of the Dance Muzik industry have been totally inspired them Give Thanks Peace & Love
@TheRhythmAlchemist Because I was there long before this live mixing thing got a foothold in the clubs. When I was 10 and Tee was still Marc! Mixing stories for neighborhood kids on mini reel-to-reel and a Victrola. I'm sorry to seem so empassioned. Larry wat a great showman with a great house. I'll concede that. Tee could not have done what Larry did. He simply was not made that way. But Tee was a better DJ/technician because he knew the music and the technology.
@TheRhythmAlchemist Alchemist, I am Tee Scott's baby sister, so I know quite a bit about him. And I say as much without bias as I can that I never heard ANY DJ who could do what Tee was doing. I hear it more now than ever, but Tee's been dead for 15 years. These DJs have had a lot of time to practice.
Do I like it? Sure. As much as Eddie's? Of course not! Lets not get off our heads here.

Sounds like a deep house remix avant la lettre. The original (Eddie Kendricks - Girl, You Need A Change Of Mind) is awesome as well :)
